In the third match the day prior, Liu Zilang had learned his lesson that he should not jump at Severn. This was of course unless he wished to run across the map when a jinxed blue circle appeared at Sosnovka Military Base.
In the match at hand, Liu Zilang touched down somewhere near the center of the map. If he could not find a vehicle, he could still afford to run toward the safe zone no matter where it appeared.
However, he hesitated for a brief moment when deciding on a place to land at.
Judging by the flight route, Pochinki and School were graded as Class-A danger zones. Battles in those areas would be fought in narrow alleys and within the buildings’ interiors.
Liu Zilang was confident that if a fight broke out at those places, his skills would allow him to prevail in battle.
However, the problem was that those places were perfect hiding spots for sneak attacks.
There were many ways a player could be caught by surprise, and the survival rate was low.
Liu Zilang was not one to seek out such exotic thrills. Furthermore, he wanted to strive for stability for the first match of the day.
As the airplane flew over Rozhok, he immediately jumped out of the fuselage.
Whoosh~!
Wind brushed past his ears.
Liu Zilang made a mark on the rightmost three-story building that was in the southern half of Rozhok. Ducking his head down, he dove toward the building like a streaking meteor!
While he was in the air, he surveyed his surroundings. He was surprised to find that quite a lot of people had jumped together at Rozhok.
A cursory count found that six other players shared the same idea.
‘Wait!
‘Why is it seven?
‘The stars align!’ 1
He understood the reason why after giving the matter some thought.
Even though Rozhok was not rich in resources, it did not lack transportation options. There was a garage in case he needed to leave town. Overall, Rozhok was a decent ‘Second-Tier City’.
However, Liu Zilang did not intend to run away despite the prospect of having to face many opponents. In any case, Rozhok covered a large area and had many buildings. It could certainly fit seven people.
‘As long as no one touches down where I’m heading to,’ Liu Zilang thought. However, as he neared the ground, his face darkened!
Someone was directly behind him, and that person was sticking close to him like a sycophant. It seemed like he was heading to the three-story building as well.
‘Can’t you just move aside a little?’
Other than being a little frustrated, Liu Zilang did not think too much of the person behind him.
However, the live audience members and live stream viewers were shocked when they saw the scene from God’s perspective!
“Oh, f*ck! It’s Billy King!”
“Turtles! Are we in for a nail-biting match right from the start? I’ve heard that Billy King isn’t one to back down from a fight.”
“No wonder. Other than Billy King, I can’t think of any other player who would tail their opponent’s butt that closely upon touching down.”
“I guess it’s game over for Vic! I don’t think he’ll be able to handle such a strong character like Billy King!”
It has to be mentioned that Billy was the vanguard of SKK.
He was most proficient with the shotgun and was deadly in close-quarter combat. His favorite move was to go right up to his opponent’s face for a ‘passionate release’.
He had his mind set on jumping to the south of Rozhok when he bumped into Liu Zilang in midair.
Billy had chosen to jump at Rozhok because he was confident with his close-combat abilities.
For someone to forgo jumping to Sosnovka Military Base, Pochinki, or School, they must have had to be less confident with their close-combat abilities. That was why the other people decided to jump at Rozhok.
That was Billy’s train of thought. Despite his seemingly rough edges, he was able to get into the minds of his opponents.
He thought that there was no need for him to push his skills to the limit and fight with other riflers from other teams in other towns.
Instead, by jumping at Rozhok, he would be able to pick up a few easy kills from opponents who were not so proficient in close-combat. In the meantime, he could also pick up a decent set of equipment.

That was why Billy pursued Liu Zilang so tightly after having set his eyes on him.
What Billy did not expect was his opponent to have the same thoughts.
However, it did not matter if neither of them could find a gun after touching down.
On the big screen of the tournament, the two players touched down almost simultaneously on the rooftop of the three-story building.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Liu Zilang and Billy wrestled the parachutes off their bodies, and they immediately set off to look for weapons.
The loot on the rooftop was scarce. After a round of searching, Billy only managed to find a bandage and a level one military vest. On the other hand, Liu Zilang picked up a sickle.
‘F*ck!’
Billy cursed in his heart when he saw Liu Zilang rushing toward him while brandishing the sickle. He opened the door to the stairwell and ran down the stairs.
He closed the door on his way out; a small detail that hampered Liu Zilang’s advance.
Liu Zilang pushed opened the door and continued his pursuit with his sickle.
“Ermm… isn’t this another genre?”
“F*ck! Does someone turn into a serial killer when wielding a sickle?”
“Society, meet Brother Lang. He’s a scary man of very few words!”
“I think he’s a bit too full of himself. He doesn’t know who his opponent is…”
“That’s it for him! Something bad will happen if he continues his pursuit.”
“Mark my words, Vic will be killed!”
In the game, Liu Zilang saw that the rooftop was scarce in resources. Hence, he did not expect a better yield from the floors below.
More importantly, picking up a weapon and loading it took time.
If he was close to his target, he would be able to deal damage faster than his opponent could pick up a gun and load it. This was of course if they managed to find one.
Guns and cannons all bow before my blade!
The damage output of the sickle was indeed respectable.
What Liu Zilang did not expect was to hear the sound of items being picked up, he was running along the second-floor hallway and had not caught up to his opponent
‘He found something that fast?’ Liu Zilang took a peek and was immediately stunned!
He cursed in his heart and then turned around and ran upstairs.
His opponent’s new haul was none other than the S1897 shotgun. It could start shooting after a bullet had been loaded into it, and one bullet was all it needed to kill someone!
‘Sorry for disturbing you! Goodbye!’
Liu Zilang ran away along the hallway as if he had oil on his feet.
Billy started giving chase after loading a bullet into the shotgun. He did not want his prey to escape.
“Don’t run away, baby! Have a taste of this big fella!” He cackled with devilish glee as he gave chase. “Weren’t you very eager to come after me earlier?”
‘I don’t want to taste anything!’ Liu Zilang ran with his head down as he swiftly returned to the third floor.
Billy happened to catch up just in time and delivered a blast toward him.
However, Liu Zilang emulated Billy’s earlier actions and closed the wooden door on his way out.
Crash!
Shards of lead whizzed across the hallway like a rainstorm. The wooden door was then riddled with holes.
‘Oh, sh*t!’
Billy saw that his shot had missed its intended target. Quickly, he loaded another bullet into the shotgun and gave chase with big strides.
When he reached the rooftop, he lifted up his gun.
On the other hand, Liu Zilang vaulted over the railings and jumped off the building with a great leap.
