Chapter 2 – As I Expected

Mo Sect, at the summit of Dan Qing Mountain.

The little girl, Xiao Qiu’s ears are being covered by her own master, Lu Dongli, whose slender hands are slightly cold but very soft.

Xiao Qiu’s attention, however, was not on her master.

She was captivated by the man in front of her.

The little girl, whose ears were covered, widened her eyes, as this was the first time in her short life she had seen a figure of such temperament.

This man gave off a feeling that was completely different from the others!

It was like the feeling you got when you were young and you turned on the television and saw the protagonist of an idol drama1 for the first time.

Although Xiao Qiu was not very old, she could still understand the meaning of some of the words of the man in the green shirt.

“Had the heavens not given birth to me, Lu Chaoge, Tianxuan would have been shrouded in darkness for ten thousand years.”

“Wow! So awesome!”

Before going up the mountain, she had imagined what the cultivators on the mountain were like.

And the scene in front of her was undoubtedly beyond her imagination.

The child was too innocent, so innocent that she hadn’t yet contracted the cancer of embarrassment.

“Is that the legendary Sect Leader?”

Xiao Qiu, who hadn’t seen much of the world, was completely captivated by the unique aura.

But she couldn’t help but remember Master’s warning at this time… Master had said, “don’t learn how the Sect Leader handles people!”

Lu Dongli dropped the hands covering Xiao Qiu’s ears, and with a helpless look on her face, she raised her hands in salute towards the green-shirted man and said, “Greetings, Sect Leader.”

Xiao Qiu followed suit and said in a milky voice, “Greetings… Greetings Sect Leader.”

The man in the green shirt turned his back on the two of them and nodded slightly, saying, “Don’t salute.”

The helplessness on Lu Dongli’s face grew thicker and thicker, she was well aware of some of her elder brother’s little habits, such as on some public occasions, he liked to talk with his back to others.

Oh yes, it was still the night of the full moon. She had almost forgotten that on a full moon night, her brother was bound to move around outside the house.

He would put his hands behind his back, stand straight, and then look up at the moon and say some nonsense.

In Lu Dongli’s eyes, this was a sort of monthly impromptu performance by her brother.

“Brother, she is Xiao Qiu, my newest disciple.” Lu Dongli raised her hand and gently patted Xiao Qiu’s little head, introducing her.

Lu Chao Ge continued to look up at the moon and said indifferently, “Not bad.”

Xiao Qiu felt that Sect Leader was so powerful, that he could tell that she was good without even looking at her.

“Child, you are very lucky to have joined my Mo Sect.” Lu Chaoge said in a deep voice.

“This will probably be the greatest fortune of your life.”

Lu Dongli looked down at her toes, wanting to find a crack in the ground and burrow in it.

Xiao Qiu was so gifted that it was not even difficult for her to join the Sword Sect. The Mo Sect was at the bottom of the 300 sects under the Sword Sect, so accepting Xiao Qiu as his disciple was purely an act of picking up the pieces.

What luck, what great fortune, it is really a shame!

Of course, she also knew in her heart that her elder brother was saying these words because he had that infinite confidence as the head of the Mo Sect, after all, he decided that he was the Chosen One and that following him was like following the Heavenly Dao.

In that case, what was this if not a fortune?

Lu Dongli glanced down at Xiao Qiu, only to see her staring intently at her elder brother with a curious expression, and quickly cried out in her heart, “Not good!”

I can’t let them get along any longer!

It would teach the child a bad lesson!

She didn’t want her new apprentice to be tainted.

In her eyes, Xiao Qiu was a good and obedient child, much more mature than children of her own age, and if she taught her well, she would be a steady female sword practitioner like herself.

That’s good!

It’s good for the small Mo Sect to have such a master!

Therefore,

This is not a place to stay for long!

“Brother, Xiao Qiu should be tired, so I’ll take her to rest first.” Lu Dongli suggested.

“Go ahead.” Lu Chao Ge said.

After receiving the go-ahead, Lu Dongli pulled Xiao Qiu away and walked faster and faster.

Xiao Qiu took one step and turned back three times, but Lu Dongli looked at the Sect Leader as if he was a beast and said seriously, “Don’t look back!”

She knew how strong her elder brother’s assimilation power was. Her eldest disciple had stayed with him for three days when he was first initiated, and it took her three years to barely twist his personality back.

It was only after Lu Dongli and Xiao Qiu had walked away that Lu Chaoge stopped looking up at the moon and turned to look at the backs of the two large and small figures.

He casually swept a glance at Xiao Qiu before muttering.

“[Name: Xiao Qiu.]”

“[Root and Bone: 8.]”

“[Sword Dao Aptitude: 8.]”

“[Luck: 9.]”

“I don’t know where Little Li picked up this child from, but all her attributes are high.” Lu Chaoge was satisfied.

But once he thought of the child being [Luck: 9], he was relieved.

“It’s not that we picked her up, it’s that she has high luck and was lucky enough to meet us.” Lu Chaoge nodded darkly, deeply convinced.

“It’s been 21 years since I came to Tianxuan Realm.” Lu Chaoge muttered.

“I wonder, how did I cross over into the game?” Lu Chao Ge could not figure it out.

Yes, the world he was in now was a game called “Tianxuan Realm” that he had played on Earth in his previous life.

In the 22nd century, the game industry had developed to an unimaginable extent, and it was as if people were in a whole new world.

The appearance of “Tianxuan Realm” was a sensation.

Some players said that the players were holograms and that people were not playing a game, but had actually descended into a real otherworld!

But Lu Chaoge could never have imagined that he would have crossed over.

In his previous life, he was a super rich second generation, but his parents had their own careers and were separated, but did not divorce for various reasons.

To put it bluntly, his parents were a bit of a “to each his own” kind of people.

Growing up, he barely felt the warmth of a family.

The only thing he felt was the cold money.

“Oh, it’s just a bunch of numbers in a card.”

Therefore, he immersed himself wholeheartedly in Tianxuan Realm and was one of the well-known godly players within Tianxuan Realm, whose greatest ability was the power of banknotes, running rampant in the game, spilling money at the drop of a hat, tugging like a horse!

Who would have thought that one night during the guild battle, he was holding an immortal sword and flew to more than a hundred players of the rival guild and said aloud, “Haha, you hundred or so rookies have been surrounded by this old master!”

He was about to slash wildly like chopping vegetables and kill them directly and indiscriminately when he inexplicably crossed over.

It was strange that the rest of the in-game functions were locked except for the fact that he could still gain experience value and the function [Detection] was still there, allowing him to see other people’s qualifications and attributes.

Even if he could gain experience, he could not upgrade with it!

With his Golden Fingers not fully opened, he was stunningly handsome, but otherwise, he was a bit mediocre.

But that didn’t affect his mindset.

If it’s locked, it’s only a matter of time before it’s unlocked!

How can a protagonist not have a golden finger?

Twenty-one years had passed, and Lu Chaoge was still sure of this, and had never doubted himself.

“The Chosen One’s mentality was rock solid and never wavered in the slightest.”

At this moment, a system alert suddenly sounded in his ears.

“[Ding! The game’s beta test is imminent, some functions have been unlocked!]”

Lu Chaoge’s expression did not change in the slightest, he was not shocked, nor was he overjoyed.

He merely bowed his head slightly, then gave a crooked smile with a slightly evil and impetuous look.

Only for him say lightly.

“Heh, as I expected.”

Mo sect was translated as the Mohammedan clan for some reason lol.

Edit (06/08/2022): Changed some terms like in 3rd chapter. Also some minor fixes.

Tianxuan World –> Tianxuan Realm Lu Chao Ge –> Lu Chaoge Swordsmanship –> Sword Dao Aptitude
