Chapter 5: Hoomans

When it woke up, it felt the urge to eat something. The brain it absorbed needed Nutrients to continue supplying it with information, and right now, It needed to learn things about the Hoomans as fast as possible. It didn't want to die just because it was haughty. Something that seemed to happen to a lot of people, most of which the original brain wearer dedicated as Villains. And if there really was a guy out there being only vulnerable to a... noble gas with traces of it in the atmosphere? No, that didn't seem quite right. Kryptonite seemed to be... Kr-? And how the Hell did it know all this stuff?

This question was answered as he delved into an area of the brain labeled suppressed memories/ deemed useless by the previous owner. There were all kinds of information,  things very important to some humans, and worthless to others.

It discarded those strange thoughts, and then refocussed on the room. It was inside something... a house a Hospital room? The word sprang up at that moment, and it thought it fit the area rather well. And so, as another second passed, a man barged in. Someone the brain labeled Richard or Dick. Why would you shorten Richard with that kind of word, when it meant something different entirely on other occasions?

Hoomans don't make any sense, It decided, and tried to understand what the other words meant.

,,He Peter, we don't know what happened, but whatever it was, it left you unconscious for eight hours straight. And since a few minutes your skin started not looking that good... kind of green-blackish stuff spreading through your veins or something I am going to take blood samples later, right now you need to go in the tube for a minute"

That was bad news. It was sure it could use Nope to stop itself from merging with the skin more than necessary. But it seemed that it needed to empower nope even more, and had to be ready to change the body or get Violent, at any time. The hoomans were thinking it was sick right now, but that tube would Analyse its health status. Heart rate, Brain activity, and how it looked from within it had to run...

but before it could stand up or do anything, he was put inside the tube, which immediately began blinking and making irritating noises. Really irritating noises. And after it got out, it started to panic a little.

Richard looked very sternly at it and asked the simple question.

,,Why is it impossible to read anything beneath your skin? The Electromagnetic waves just... stop working, they don't do any of the things they are supposed to do... they just react as if you were clad in Lead, or sometimes even seem to bond to your body, stopping to move entirely"

It had to think, and as soon as it started the answer it realized that this sound was a lot deeper than what the Hooman made, but it continued its sounds anyway.

,,I don't know, Dick. I was just out there and then fell over. The only thing I know is that I am really hungry, and I feel a little stiff..."

It said, that being the standard response of Peter to any medical question he was ever asked.

Richard sighed deeply

,,You still don't do the stretching exercise I always remind you of, do you? But we got food for you in your Room, so If you can go there by yourself, eat some. If there are any new Problems, just come back. You should probably be put in quarantine until we can be sure that this is no new sickness or something, so we will give you a pet mouse in your room, and should it still be OK, like that saliva test over there, we will release you. Just... make sure you're okay. Should your condition get worse, we will have to send you to the mainland."

And so, it stood up, wandering around the base and towards the room that once was Petes, in which it would have to stay for a while to pass as no risk, and it knew that hospitals in the mainland would first and foremost try to dissect it in hopes of finding anything interesting.

Finally, it would have time to rest and eat for a while.
