Fallen Angel 1
Although it only took fifteen minutes to travel from Mouri Detective Agency to RJ Tokyo General Hospital, the trip seemed to take much longer. The path felt longer, and the usual traffic appeared busier than usual. Kogoro exited the taxi as soon as he arrived at the hospital. He generously tipped the driver before entering the building and approaching the front desk.
Instead of following the established protocol, Kogoro only needed to ask for the room number since Inspector Megure apparently gave her the memo. Once she gave him the number, he made a beeline to where Yoko Okino was nursed.
Kogoro didn't have to search for too long because he was greeted by a tense Miwako in the hallway. He caught her eye as she was looking at her phone while leaning back against the wall. She smiled in relief and waved at her man.
"I'm glad you're finally here! We've come to a dead end in our hunt for the perpetrator, but maybe you can help us with the search."
Her gait was tight, and the exhaustion was apparent in every step she took towards him. Kogoro hugged Miwako and stroked her tense shoulders, trying to take some of the weight off her shoulders.
"I know that you're tired, but hang in there for a little bit longer. I'll see if I can fix this situation!" Kogoro assured her. He looked around, and after finding no one in the vicinity, he asked her in a whisper.
"How about Yoko Okino-san? Is she okay?"
Her tone light, she answered, "You don't need to worry too much. We received a warning from her agency not to let strangers or people we didn't know enter her room. That includes a perverted detective, so don't even think about it, mister!"
Miwako tried to give him a smirk, but it looked like a grimace instead.
'Dammit!' Kogoro cursed in his mind.
By Miwako's face, Yoko-san's condition was not as good as they said before. This was a mess he was not expecting to be facing right now.
While he lightly massaged Miwako's shoulders, Kogoro thought, 'Still, my priority right now is making sure that Yoko-san is safe.'
Kogoro stopped, and ushered Miwako to walk with him. "Come on. We'll talk as we walk."
***
Miwako told Kogoro everything she knew about the accident as they moved farther inside the building to the VIP area. Unfortunately, he was right. The impact of the fall caused Yoko Okino to sustain serious injuries. The most grievous was her two feet, which caused some of the officers investigating this case to believe that there was no culprit and that she was trying to commit suicide.
Of course, that thought went out of the window after they heard Kogoro's testimony on the meeting Yoko had with him.
"We are here." Miwako's voice woke him up from his reverie, and Kogoro noticed the number on the door.
"That's 69, not 70! Unless…" Kogoro trailed off when he figured out the reason why they led him to the 'wrong' room.
Miwako opened the door, and Kogoro immediately noticed the presence of other people in the room. They were separated into two groups, and he approached the one he was familiar with. There was the usual crew: Inspector Megure, Officer Chiba, and Officer Takagi. Additionally, there are some unknown faces. Kogoro could take a wild guess that they were the stooges from Yoko Okino's agency. He did not know how exactly he should be dealing with those who were essentially his enemies, but first…
'I'll have to deal with the grumpy Megure-keibu first.' Kogoro didn't know whether he should laugh or cry at the inspector's expression.
"Keibu-dono! I already got everything from Sato-keiji, but if you have anything else to add, please let me know." Kogoro went straight to the point. He was hoping to distract his former supervisor from his ire, and it succeeded!
"Chiba-kun!" Megure commanded, and Officer Chiba answered with a 'yes' before he told Kogoro and Miwako additional details they just got from the forensic.
"According to the team searching for clues on the floor where Yoko Okino-san was supposed to fall from, there was only one set of footprints found at the location, and they were the victim's footprints!"
All the officers in the room mulled over Chiba's words until Kogoro told them his theory.
"I think there's only one explanation for that. The culprit used some kind of trick to make Okino-san fall down from the third floor of the building. Which reminds me: Is there any security camera footage around that part of the town?"
This time, Officer Takagi chimed in. "There is one, but the angle failed to show us anything more than the impact of the victim's body hitting the road!"
Kogoro nodded, not discouraged by Takagi's answer. "Okay, please let me see the footage first!"
Inspector Megure raised an eyebrow at his request. "Mouri-kun, what is there to watch? Don't you hear Takagi saying that the angle was bad?"
At the inspector's question, Kogoro chuckled. "If the tape is genuine, then I can almost guarantee that we will notice something off with what the camera captured. The lack of any marks left by the culprit told us their ability to orchestrate a crime, and if they manipulated any element of the crime, there would be discrepancies with how things should be if it happened naturally."

The three policemen looked at each other, a little bit unsure about his suggestion. That's when Miwako finally opened her mouth again. "Keibu, I think what Mouri-san suggested is sound! Besides, we are stuck anyway, so we might as well take a chance!"
Her persuasion worked, and Megure made a call to ask for the footage. While waiting, Kogoro walked to the closed curtain where the beeping sound of the heart monitor came from. One of the men guarding it tried to stop Kogoro from approaching, but the other two seemed to know his connection with the police, and let him by.
When Kogoro's eyes fell on the comatose form of Yoko Okino, a white-hot rage flooded his veins. Instantly, he made up his mind.
'Baa-chan, use one of the Basic Psychedelic Cards!'
The surroundings turned silent as Kogoro intended. He checked through the gap in the curtain, and was assured of the item's effect.
Kogoro then brought out the only Healing Dog Bone in his possession, and began chewing the small bone.
[Healing Dog Bone (1x): A normal bone. At least, that's what it looks like. To use its healing ability, stick it up your butt, and don't remove it for a minute. It can heal injuries, but cannot regenerate missing limbs. The healing speed would double if it is chewed by a dog before usage.]
"Baa-chan, you called me a dog numerous times. If me chewing this doesn't count, I'm going to sue you for a counterfeit!" Kogoro threatened, feeling a bit sour about what he had to do.
[The System is pleased by the host's self-awareness. As the host confirmed his identity as Scooby's incarnation, the System deemed the requirement met. Congratulations: The effect of the Healing Dog Bone is doubled!]
'Motherfucker! I know I'm asking for it, but is the sarcastic comment really necessary?' Kogoro cursed the System, and as usual, the darned Grandma ignored him.
"Well, I'm just going to ignore you from now on. Now let me just use this bone to heal Yoko-san. How do I do this again?"
Kogoro fumbled with the bone, trying to figure out how he was going to stick it up Yoko Okino's ass. He pulled up her hospital gown and slid his hands between her thighs. After finding the star's star, Kogoro lined up the tip of his bone and thrusted it inside her warm virgin hole.
"Man. The one minute period feels absolutely unnecessary. What should I do now?" Kogoro was feeling so awkward right now, having one of his hands holding the inserted bone right between a comatose woman's thigh. He could only count haphazardly in his head, and when he reached zero, the bone in his hand dissolved into a stream of light. The sparkling river then merged with Yoko's body, and her injuries began to heal rapidly!
'Woah… That's freaky.'
Kogoro was amazed by how quickly Yoko's flesh and skin were being repaired. After a while, the lights dwindled down. They disappeared completely, revealing the healed form of the former Idol.
The groan Kogoro heard from the patient was, he would assume, the sign of her waking up from her slumber. He quickly retracted his hand when he noticed that it was still stuck between her thighs.
A few seconds later, Yoko's eyes fluttered open. Her gaze was unfocused for a moment, before she regained herself and found Kogoro looking at her with a worried expression on his face.
If she had recovered naturally, her reactions would have been more subdued. But because she was healed by the Healing Dog Bone, the sight of Kogoro looking at her with care made a critical impact on her heart!
Yes, it was the Doki-Doki from the Literature Club!
The only thing in her mind right now was: 'Ah… I think I'm in love!'
