Keeping his eyes on Logan’s trembling body that had become stuck to the castle wall, Gareth got off his horse and reached out to Giggs, who quickly handed over a spear. Gareth inhaled deeply and held the spear at the level of his shoulders. He then did a run-up to give his body momentum and threw the spear with terrifying force.
Splash!
The spear that pierced through Logan’s throat into the wall shook slightly from the aftermath of being thrown with Gareth’s fearsome strength.
“We’ll advance into the castle,” Gareth ordered his men as he climbed back onto his horse. The 13 horses began to move again.

Suddenly feeling the ground shake, Lydia froze in place. She could tell it was Gareth and his men. Lydia had had no choice but to flee, snatching a horse from the stable to try to escape to another cousin’s estate near the capital. However, she had taken the wrong direction, perhaps because her brain was muddled after what had happened back in the castle.
Now she could see Gareth approaching her. As the earth began to quiver more violently, Lydia hurriedly turned her horse around. She then let out a shrill scream.
Gareth glanced at her with indifferent eyes. Then, he spat out with a cold voice, “Your death is not up to me.”
Lydia looked blankly at Gareth, who had passed by without even laying a finger on her.
“It’s up to Ethan,” Gareth said at that moment.
As if struck by a bolt of lightning, Lydia was shocked. ‘Has Ethan been alive this whole time…?’ she wondered as she watched the rest of Gareth’s men pass by her. She couldn’t believe that the rightful heir to the throne was still alive. She then began to decipher Gareth’s words. ‘Does that mean Ethan will be here soon? There’s no way Gareth would leave me be like this otherwise, is there?’
As if she had gone insane, Lydia began to laugh. ‘Everything had been perfect. I had created a perfect plan after calculating all the possible outcomes. But Ethan… I had forgotten about him. Does that mean Gareth ended up joining hands with Ethan?’ Laughter seeped out of Lydia’s pale lips as she thought about her glorious past. ‘I was always perfect. I was always perfect…’
Lydia then came back to her senses. She turned to Gareth who was drifting away from her, then she took out a chunk of Marina’s black hair from the inner pocket of her dress. The black hair fluttered in the wind as she held it high and shouted, “Gareth!”
Nevertheless, anxious to rescue Elena, Gareth did not even look back at her.
Lydia didn’t give up and announced with a sharp voice, “You’re too late, Gareth.”
“Boss! Look at what she’s holding!” Giggs shouted in an urgent voice.
Gareth finally turned around, his eyes catching sight of the black object dancing in the wind. Gareth quickly grabbed his horse, halting it.
“As I said, you’re too late,” Lydia repeated herself.
Gareth squinted his eyes to make out the identity of the black object as he unwittingly approached Lydia. He did so as if he had become bewitched by the red-haired woman.
Lydia smiled brightly as she watched Gareth slowly come near her. ‘If Gareth gives me to Ethan… I’ll end up begging him every day to kill me, and that man will never let me pay for my sins with death. He won’t kill me… because I killed his mother. I would rather…’ Lydia grinned as beautifully as she could and lifted the chunk of black hair higher so Gareth could see it.
It was not long before Gareth was right next to her, seeming completely possessed by the black hair. He reached out to Lydia as if to ask for the object in her hand.
Lydia laughed in response and said, “She’s already in a place you can’t reach.” She then stretched out her hand so that the black hair would fly away in the wind. “That’s too bad, Gareth, but I’ll tell you where she is. Go to Logan’s castle and find her. It seemed that everyone liked Elena, just like you did. There must have been something different about her—perhaps she had a special taste to her,” Lydia provoked, her eyes gleaming with evil intentions. “Your Elena is the woman whose lower area has been pounded down on the most.”
