The light passed through the large vitrages, the colourful light illuminating a pristine white round room. Tall, chiselled pillars held the dome-like ceiling. Everything was white, the roof, the floor and the wall with plates of polished white marble covering them.
A massive shiny altar with a hundred of magical candles glowing in pure white light stood in the room.
A dozen of people in white robes knelt on the cold floor before the altar. Their faces were hidden behind the pure masks made of light. None of them moved, all of them quietly muttering in prayers.
"This town is full of evil. There is no salvation!" suddenly, one of them spoke, and everyone stopped preying as they looked at him.
"First, brother, there must still be hope. We can't forsake these people just because they were misguided!"
The first inquisitor's voice turned aggressive, "Don't you see it!? More and more people keep turning their backs towards the greatest of all gods! Evil cultists pull their strings from behind the curtains, and people cheer for them!"
No one could refute it, so everyone just silently watched their leader.
"We are servants of the greatest god. It is our duty to purge this town of evil! I wanted to hope that only a few evil seeds were sewn in this town. However, I was wrong. This whole town is full of evil."
He continued, strong holy energy radiating out of him, making him look as if he glowed, "They were conspiring against us the whole time, trying to stop us or throwing twigs under our feet."
Their immortal brother immediately stood up, his armour hidden under his robes, loudly clanging, "First brother, are we going finally going to kill that vile wyrm?"
Contrary to everyone's expectations, the first brother only shook his head, "Had you not seen their strength and how they annihilated immortals attacking them? They are not an enemy we can deal with on our own. Brother, you are immortal thanks to the gods' blessing, so you don't understand lots of stuff."
Finally, their leader rose from the ground and turned towards the exit, quickly walking away, his hurried steps resounding through the room, with his white robe fluttering behind him, "Prepare the ritual! We will call judgment upon this godless town!"
POV Vesuvius:
"Graaaah!" a horrible growl shook the whole black tower, its walls shaking, and magical lights in the surrounding flickered under the magic-filled scream.
The small elven girl quietly stood under the black roof, holding a small vial containing a brightly glowing golden substance. Its content kept moving on its own, immense magical energy radiating out of it.
The elf was covered in blood, her hands trembling and her eyes shining as she held the vial. Her heterochromatic eyes were not moving from the golden substance as if they were glued.
The huge dragon lay sprawled on the ground, the surrounding black stone slowly melting, forming a small puddle of lava. His massive body was slowly lifting and lowering as he breathed.
The dragon suddenly stirred, his eyes also locking on the golden vial, his pupils quickly widening as he observed the mysterious substance, feeling and seeing the terrific and powerful magic radiating out of it.
'Why is it gold?'

After meeting with the reaper, Vesuvius realised that the world was large and his not-very-smart monsters and players were not enough to build his forces. They were not strong enough to fight anything strong. Even if he grew strong, he would be alone against most of the world.
'Spawning a new dragon is not viable right now as it would temporarily weaken me, which is unacceptable in the current situation, and then they would still take lots of time to grow up.
'My draconified monsters are too stupid, and my dragonkins, even though they are stronger than mortal races, can't hold candles against more powerful races. I need something better, stronger and smarter. Something that would be loyal to me and able to build their own civilisation that would fully serve me.'
The dragon woke out of his thoughts and looked back at the golden liquid in the vial, seeing a large amount of life and magical energy surging around it in a violent vortex invisible to a mortal's eyes.
Finally, he decided to continue his experiments, 'My bonemarrow, just the energy radiating out of it is incomparable to my blood.'
"Alesia, go and bring our test subjects."
The small elf didn't even flinch, her eyes shining as she kept ogling the golden liquid. Her eyes looked absent, as if she was in her own world.
Vesuvius poured his mana into his vocal cords and spoke again. This time his voice vibrated with magic, containing weird mind-affecting powers, "Alesia, go and bring our test subjects!"
She suddenly moved, blinking her eyes and looking extremely confused, as if she had just woken up from a deep slumber. She hurriedly put down the vial and ran out of the chamber.
Vesuvius quietly sighed, 'Luckily, I got a capable assistant for my experiments.'
POV Zeus & Hera:
Zeus and his younger sister stood in the darkness, their eyes slightly glowing. They were inside a dark and hot cave. The air temperature was so high that they felt suffocating. The cave was massive. If they didn't see how it was built, they wouldn't even believe it could be built so fast.
An image of the dragon melting the stone with their blazing hot stones, with the melted stone moving by itself and flowing out to create and dark tunnel, flashed before their eyes.
'This is kinda smart. The tower draws all of the attention while the important stuff is happening down here without enemies even having an idea of what is happening.'
Ten goblins screeched and rattled with their cages, violently banging against the bars trying to get out as if they felt some horrible danger.
Cages filled with goblins were placed all along the walls, the sweat running down their green skin.
Suddenly light steps came from the only illuminated part of the cave. The small elven girl walked out, her bloodstained green dress and her bloody blonde her waving behind her in the hot draft.
"Come and bring three goblins with you." she waved at them with her small, perfectly smooth hand that was entirely red from the blood.
