Leav Goes to Another World
Chapter 2 : A Request to be The Caretaker of The Tree of Heaven
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The name I use for my character is Leav and I started the game as a mage. Even though in the middle I got a short range battle skill, my main attack skill was magic.
And now, after so long since I started, I'm at the end of the year in conquering the Child of Heaven's Labyrinth, a labyrinth of the highest difficulty.
I've started the labyrinth conquest for almost a year. And it's all an uphill battle. Unlike ordinary labyrinths, the Child of Heaven's Labyrinth offered the highest level of difficulty. Apart from having a hundred levels of floors, this labyrinth also has many other difficulties.
I've worked hard to get through all those hardships. And now I achieved the greatest achievement in the history of this game, namely as the first to set foot on the hundredth floor of the Heaven's Child Labyrinth.
Really, it was all a tiring struggle.
Descending from the stairs, I entered the last floor of this labyrinth. Unlike the other floors which had aisles, the hundredth floor was a wide hall. A place like a historical relic that has been weathered by time. The tall pillars offer a scratch of memory, which I believe is too many thousands of years old. But it still looks solid.
Like an ancient library or holy church, this room has a wide atrium, the difference is that now there are no cupboards, tables, chairs or bookshelves and their contents. All that's left here is just rubble or fallen dust.
The walls of the room also offer periodic views, where green moss has eroded most of the walls. And above it, the window panes shattered irregularly and had become a means of entry of light and air into this room.
If described with feelings, this place will feel as sacred as possible. Like a fantastic church filled with spiritual atmosphere.
The pillars of light that enter give an atmosphere of majesty while the fresh air provides inner peace.
After so long untouched and scratched by time, the air here must have become cleaner. That's why it's so cold here. I could have fallen asleep if I brought the mattress and put it here. Recalling all the exhaustion I received for conquering this labyrinth. All of this will feel like a reward for my efforts. This also makes it a great location to use for a secret base I want. Quiet, peaceful and comfortable. What a perfect location for a loner like me.
After exploring and making sure there are no monsters or traps on this hundredth floor. Guard, I put down, and now I can rest here for a while.
Sitting at a certain spot, I took out a mana recovery potion and an energy elixir potion that was left over from my inventory. Since my main job is mage, I've wasted a lot of mana for all the previous battles.
My long black hair was also tangled and my witch's clothes were in tatters. Since during the subjugation I was not allowed to exit the labyrinth, I didn't have time to change equipment and refill supplies. But equipment like weapons I can get from the monster items I defeat and supplies like potions or certain items I can get from the treasures I found in this labyrinth.
But they are also limited. Given the fierceness of conquering this labyrinth alone, the expenses will be greater than the income. Luckily, I have non-magic combat skills like sword and archery skills. But even if it kept my mana capacity from decreasing, physical combat would tire my body and it would deplete my energy status.
So I have to efficiently handle the magic and physical battles, so that I don't run out of mana and energy recovery potions quickly.
Even though I had prepared quite a lot before entering the labyrinth and even though I sometimes got them from treasure chests, all the intensity of the fighting I was experiencing quickly consumed it all.
But during this one year, I somehow managed to persevere and make it to this point. and now I've also gotten a very high character stat instead. So my tiredness has been satisfied by all the results I got from conquering this labyrinth.
And surely there is a prize waiting again on this hundredth floor.
I glanced to the side, at one end of this room there was a fairly majestic altar made of neatly arranged stone.
On the altar there is a large chest measuring about (1x1x2) square meters, which is placed on a table made of large stone.
Unlike other treasure chests, this one was made of gold and shone brightly.
Considering the exterior alone was luxurious enough, I wondered what was inside.
After resting for a while, I walked towards the altar to open the treasure chest.
My heart was pounding quite a bit as I waited for what was inside. Maybe a legendary weapon or something, right? And also there would definitely be a lot of gold coins in it considering its size.
I excitedly walked towards the treasure chest. And after I arrived, I gulped while my eyes stared at the treasure chest for a moment.
Placing my hand on the crate, I was once again stunned for a moment because my heart was racing quite fast when I started to touch it. Worried about what's in it.
Since I've made sure there are no traps, I can safely open this chest. I slowly opened the safety of the chest, and then opened the mouth of the chest with a curious look.
As if a dramatic effect had really occurred, what came out of the chest as soon as I opened it slightly was a blinding bright light. It was as if the beams of light were happy to be released from the narrow room after being confined in the coffin for so long.
Squinting from the glare, I continued to slowly open the chest.
After getting used to the glow of light little by little, what was inside the chest began to become clear.

“Uwaaaah~… Eh, what?”
After being able to clearly see what was inside the treasure chest. What I found was...
"....Tree? A plant sapling?"
An unknown plant in a white pot is what I got from this treasure chest. This tree is small and has only 8 leaves on its bony trunk. The leaf also emitted a mysterious light. I'm sure the dramatic effect of the previous lighting comes from this leaf.
“Eh,.... What the hell is this?”
***
"Wh, why a plant sapling?"
I am a little confused and feel restless.
After all my hard work, all I got now is a plant sapling? What kind of joke is this?
No-no, let's think positive. It's in the hardest labyrinth and is in the position of being the reward for conquering the hardest labyrinth, so it's definitely not an ordinary tree. After all it emitted a mysterious light. It was definitely not an ordinary tree type.
"This isn't an ordinary tree, is it?"
Right, is this the magic tree sapling or the world tree. Usually fantasy story templates have stuff like that, right?
Timidly, I took these plant sapling and put them in the inventory. By adding it to the inventory, any item will be sorted according to its name. So when this plant sapling is in my inventory, it will definitely bring up the name as well as other details.
Thus I was able to identify the sapling of this tree.
"Hopefully not an ordinary plant sapling."
Restlessly, I slowly checked my item list.
“Em~, em~, here it is!”
After pressing the item list in the form of a tree. The image appears with its name and description.
[Tree of Heaven]
The name of the item appears in bold and slightly larger than the letters in the description column.
“Tree of Heaven, what is it? Never mind, but most importantly, from the name alone these are not ordinary tree, thank goodness~.”
Knowing the name alone was unusual and seemed quite sacred, I was quite pleased and seemed relieved that this was indeed no ordinary tree. Although from the outward appearance alone it has proven that this tree is not an ordinary tree, because the leaves of this tree emit light. I've never come across a plant with leaves that emit light so this must be a rare plant that's hard to find. I look forward to what kind of tree this will be when it grows up.
Then I continued reading the description.
[Tree of Heaven is a plant from heaven, created by the gods of the past for the purpose of maintaining the balance of the world's magic. The gods created this plant to keep the world's mana quantity stable and fulfilled. However, this plant is very difficult to live in the Fantastia World. The reason is that many entities such as humans are eyeing this plant because of the collection of mana it contains. Even the seizure of the property of the Tree of Heaven could lead to a world war that would only lead to destruction. Therefore, the gods decided to hide the Tree of Heaven in a place that was impossible for anyone to find, except The Chosen One. Thus, a labyrinth was created for this purpose, namely the Child of Heaven's Labyrinth aimed at searching for the chosen existence to serve as the guardian of the Tree of Heaven]
The content is so complex, so I haven't gotten the full story yet.
After I finished reading the description, suddenly a notification appeared later. Though I do not understand the whole context of the story. But I decided to open the notification first. Maybe connected.
Seeing the appearance, I immediately knew that it was a message for a quest that would appear if certain conditions were met.
I curiously opened the contents of the quest message.
[World Quest: Are you willing to be the guardian of the tree of heaven? If you are willing you will be sent to another world as the guardian of the tree of heaven. Select {Yes} if you agree and {No} if you refuse.]
And here, I didn't expect that what came was a World Quest. A rare quest whose request content involves one world.
What's more, the joke-like content of the request left me at a loss for what to say.
And there you have it, all of this suddenness gives me a bit of a metaphorical headache.
