17.Gold

The pig looking black ogre looked at me like I was his archenemy.

For a second I thought I really was speaking pig.

It roared again and and the [ Ogres ] started to to come at me.

Some of then had big wooden clubs with thorns, some on them didn’t have anything.

I used [ Magic Intent ], even though, I was lower level than them by one level. But the quality of my mana was able to scare them.

They stopped as they sensed the huge red aura coming out from me.

The half pig noticed it too and let out a roar, the  ogres shook off the fear they had for me and continued to run towards me.

The line was really interesting. Six of them were charging towards me, they had formed a 2x2x2 line and were standing right behind each-other.

It was like they had practiced it …but that’s a shit move.

I pointed my hand towards them and shot a simple [ Magic Missile ] toward them.

That [ Magic Missile ] was going to be a loyalty test for them. They can dodge, but it would go towards their king. If they didn’t dodge all six of them are going to die.

Simple, but quite cruel.

As I shot the missile they were scared, their already ugly faces became even uglier towards the end of their life.

They were looking at me as if I was their math teacher during a question.

Is it A or is it B.

Well, unlike Wolves, [ Ogres ] are not loyal to the strong, they are only loyal to themselves and to themselves only.

All six of them dodged and the [ Magic Missile ] went towards the half pig.

The Half pig looked at the missile in terror.

It’s huge fat body wasn’t fast enough to dodge, even the ones who carry him won’t be able to move that fast, so it could only cross its arms.

As the Blue light met the arms of the half pig. It easily cut through and entered the pig’s stomach.

It’s like a sharp knife cutting bacon.

[ Crionic Devil - Lv. 21 ] —> [ Crionic Devil - Lv. 24 ]/

“What did I expect from the brain of a pig.”

I sighed at the dumb creatures before me.

Seeing their leader die, they didn’t look like they cared for him and only looked at me in terror.

They all started fleeing.

It’s a pity, In my previous world, Ogres were deemed warriors on various fantasy, but here they are just cowards.

Reality hits harder than a rock.

Of course, I wasn’t going to let my exp run away from me so I started chasing them.

I still hadn’t unsummoned Ceru, so I used him to find them all and kill them one by one.

I didn’t use Shared Vision and only instructed Ceru to guide me to where they are.

“Damn!” I gained more then I thought I would.

5 levels while doing nothing, it’s really funny.

Every time I killed an [ Ogre ], I put them inside my storage ring so I could devour them afterwards.

By the time I was done with them, maybe an hour has passed perhaps?

I really need a watch with me, I don’t want to count every damn second time passes.

I only did it in the void because I was bored. Here I can relax and do different things.

I’m not going to torture myself.

I nodded as I agreed with my thoughts.

So I looked through the ol’ man’s possessions on the ring he gave me.

I have to say, there is a lot of gold. There was enough to fill entire villas with them.

There were also various items, even weapons.

A few hundred mana crystals.

I didn’t check the treasures one by one, I just looked at what I needed right now.

The clothes that were there, weren’t really my style. All of them looked like something an old man would wear.

But I found some interesting things.

[ Earrings of the Hidden Mage ]

[ Grade - High ]

[ Type - Accessory ]

You are reading story Leonidas – Greed at novel35.com

[ Effects -  First Effect [ Imbued Darkness ]

Second Effect - [ Passive - Hasten Casting ]

The item’s effect were self-explanatory.

The first effect was an active skill that I could use to blend in the darkness, as the second it hastens the casting speed of the spells, which I don’t need, I activate them, not cast them.

It’s different, and my way is the best, as I don’t need to cast and just point & shoot.

Although the item’s effects weren’t that good for me, they were very beautiful.

The earrings had thin black chains and at the end of the short thin chain was a cross which looked like a thin metal. Red Metal.

The earrings matched well with my eyes so I put them on. Of course I had to open holes in my ear first. I didn’t have a mirror with me so I couldn’t really see how they looked on me.

I cursed the old man for not having a mirror in his ring. How can a man stay without a mirror?

I quickly removed my questioning thoughts and saw the other items that looked interesting.

Finally I found something!!!

[ Ancient King’s Pocket Watch ]

[ Grade - Unique ]

[ Type - Accessory ]

[ Effects - First Effect [ Passive - Barrier ]

Second Effect [ Ancient King’s Protection ]

Without seeing the description of the skills, I could only vaguely tell their uses.

So I used [ Identify ] again to look at their Description.

[ Passive - Barrier ]

~ A golden barrier will protect the owner of the watch three times a day from any attack below someone Level 60, activates on its own if the owner is in danger of getting hit.

The Barrier will defend  from both Magical and Physical attacks.

( The stronger the owner the higher the effect and the higher the level of protection {Level wise})

[ Ancient King’s Protection ]

~ Because of the former owner of the watch, the Ancient King. The watch gained the effect of Protecting the owner of the watch from any mental attack from below someone below Level 60.

( The stronger the owner the higher the effect and the higher the level of protection {Level wise})

Not only did I gain a way to tell time, I also gained some interesting things.

For now I put it inside my [ Dimensional Storage ] as it’s easier to find things inside there. In the Storage of the Samael Ring, I have to find whatever I want to pull out by myself, as for the [ Dimensional Storage ] I automatically know everything that’s inside it.

The reason I didn’t keep the pocket watch on me, was because… I have nowhere to put it, my threads could only make simple clothes nothing more, they also looked really bad, making me look like a beggar in the streets. When I visit a city, I’ll have to buy some clothes.

As for the other items, I put them inside my [ Dimensional Storage ] and didn’t check their description, because Brandon, Claus and Tina could be seen running toward me.

I’m very surprised they were able to find me here, but those thoughts didn’t show on my face as I waved at them.

They probably saw me kill the [ Orc/Ogre Half-ling ], but after the other Ogres scattered, they weren’t able to follow me.

So finding me should have been a pain.

As they got near me they checked around.

“It’s fine, they’re all dead.” I said, putting them at ease.

They had relieved expressions when they heard me.

Brandon looked at me and said, “You’re really strong Leonidas, your strength should be as strong as a Gold ranked Adventurer.

Tina nodded at his comment, while I had no idea what they mean.

“I have no idea what that means.” I said to them with a deadpan expression.

Brandon looked at me confused and as if realizing something he said while clearing his throat.

“Ahem, I forget that the Hellzarr Continent doesn’t use the name of Adventurers, neither are there Guild’s.”

What the hell is he on about? I know that much, what I didn’t know was the ranking, but it seems he misunderstood so I let him continue.

“You see, an adventurer is a profession. You can take quests from guilds, and if you want you can be a member of a certain guild if you pass their test or if you have something special, but to take quests from a guild you need to first register, they will rank you according to your level, for example if you are from 1 to 10 you are ranked as A bronze ranked adventurer. From 10 to 25 an Iron Ranked Adventure, from 25 to 35 a Silver Ranked Adventurer. From 35 to 50 a Gold Ranked.., there are also platinum ranked and a few other ranks after that.”

I nodded, “Good to know.”

Tina stepped in and asked me, “Why don’t you enter the < Crimson Star Guild > ?, you can enter on my recommendation.

“Hoo?” I was a bit amused.

“Do you have that much power?” I asked her.

She simply replied to me, “I have connections.”

I thought about it for a second and looked at her.

“I don’t intend to stay much in the Sun Kingdom, but it’s good if I have a place to stay in the mean time.”

She nodded, “It’s alright, the guild offers freedom, so it doesn’t matter if you leave, when you come back you will still be a member.”

My interests for this guild died when I heard that.

Freedom? It’s fine. But the freedom that this < Crimson Star Guild > offers is questionable.

“I’ll be fine, I might take a few quests to ease my boredom, I hope you can help me with that, other than that there is no need

She looked at me and sighed, “Sure”

After our little conversation, we left from that area and got back to where we built the camp fire.

“Who is hungry” Claus asked as he was roasting the meat in the fire.

“That will be me” I raised my hand.

“Me too” added Brandon and Tina nodded her head.

After the cooking was done Claus handed us the roasted meat. I looked at the meat and was a bit dissatisfied. Although the meat was properly cooked, there was no seasoning on it. I took the sauce I had used earlier and laced it on the meat.

“Sauce?” Claus looked at my hand.

“Yes” I replied and continued to ask him, “ Do you want some?”

“Sure” he beamed in happiness.

“What about you two?” I looked at the other two.

“Yes” x2

.. They were a little too quick to respond, but I still gave it to them.

I gave them the sauce and started spraying it to the meat a bit too ..hastily.

All three of them started taking huge bites, It was like it was their first time eating.

They finished the meat very quickly and Claus started roasting more meat.

Brandon looked at me and tried to do a puppy eye expression, which he failed to do so terribly.

“Can we have more of that?”

I look at him confused and asked, “Why are you all acting like you have never tried sauce.”

Brandon was a bit aghast, he calmed down and released he was acting a bit weird.

“Umm, the thing is.. we forgot to bring ingredients and we have only eaten raw roasted meet, for almost 3 days straight, so forgive us for acting like this.”

I get it, but shouldn’t adventurers already be used to this..

What a troublesome party….
