Chapter 35 He Raised Her

Zhu Qian immediately looked aggrieved and happy. She fumbled her way towards Mu Hua. “Mu Hua, you’re back. I was so scared at home. I couldn’t see anything and there was no one to accompany me…”

As she spoke, she almost tripped over a chair. Fortunately, Mu Hua was quick enough to catch her.

Zhu Qian was delighted. Judging from Mu Hua’s expression, he had probably quarreled with Xia Ran again, just as she had hoped.

“I’m sorry, I can’t even walk properly…” Zhu Qian said sadly as she fell into Mu Hua’s arms.

Mu Hua hugged her and felt even more guilty when she saw how pitiful she looked.

It seemed that Zhu Qian had suffered so much because of him.

“It’s okay. I’ll hold you.” After hugging Zhu Qian for a while, Mu Hua took her arm and led her to the sofa to sit down.

Xia Ran stood on the second floor and happened to see this scene. She felt heartbroken. Seeing that Mu Hua was so concerned and gentle to another woman, she could only endure it because Mu Hua said that he owed that woman too much.

Zhu Qian also saw Xia Ran and smirked.

“Boohoo…” After sitting down, Zhu Qian simply leaned into Mu Hua’s arms. She cried, “Mu Hua, I really suffer every day. Why does God have to do this to me? I’ve already lost too much. I’m so afraid that I’ll lose you too one day…”

‘You won’t. You’ll never lose me,’ Mu Hua coaxed patiently.

“Really? You’ll marry me, right? You won’t despise me for being blind, right? I don’t know when I’ll get better.” Zhu Qian asked this on purpose to let Xia Ran know who the real future madam of the Mu family was.

Mu Hua didn’t hesitate. “Yes.”

It was a promise he had made. He wouldn’t break it.

Xia Ran really hated hearing Mu Hua say such things. It made him seem very unfamiliar to her.

She also hated seeing Mu Hua and Zhu Qian so intimate!

“Cough, cough!” Xia Ran deliberately coughed loudly.

Mu Hua heard it, but he only glanced at the second floor before ignoring Xia Ran.

Zhu Qian was pleasantly surprised by Mu Hua’s reaction. Now, Mu Hua seemed to be losing patience with Xia Ran. After a while, he definitely wouldn’t be able to stand Xia Ran’s childish temper anymore and would get a divorce.

At this moment, Xia Ran couldn’t take it anymore. She turned around and returned to her room before slamming the door hard with a loud bang.

When Mu Hua heard this, he knew that she must be angry again.

He got up to go to the second floor to take a look, but Zhu Qian grabbed his hand. “Mu Hua, are you going up? Can you accompany me? I haven’t even spoken to you.”

“You can see?” Mu Hua’s attention was on Zhu Qian.

How could a blind person grab someone’s hand so accurately?

Zhu Qian also realized her blunder. She pretended to be calm and shook her head. “I can’t see, but I’m very sensitive to sounds and smells when I’m blind, especially if it’s someone close to me.”

Mu Hua stared into Zhu Qian’s eyes and recalled what Xia Ran had said. He felt a trace of suspicion.

“Perfect. I’ll help you upstairs and rest,” Mu Hua said suddenly.

Zhu Qian nodded and allowed Mu Hua to help her upstairs. Halfway up, Mu Hua deliberately let go of Zhu Qian’s hand and stretched out his leg to block her. However, Zhu Qian walked straight up, as if she couldn’t see him at all.

Mu Hua quickly retracted his leg so that he wouldn’t actually trip Zhu Qian. At the same time, he held her. “Walk slowly.”

Zhu Qian saw Mu Hua’s actions and was very unhappy. Could it be that her acting skills were so bad that even Mu Hua started to suspect her?

It seemed that she had to act more realistically.

They were one step away from the second floor when Zhu Qian accidentally tripped on the steps and fell to the ground. Her knees were bruised from the impact.

“Be careful!” Mu Hua immediately helped her

up.

Zhu Qian cried and said, “Am I so useless that I can’t even go up the stairs by myself? If you marry me in the future, it will be equivalent to marrying a useless person. I’m sorry…”

‘It doesn’t matter. I can afford to raise you, Mu Hua replied casually.

His responsibility to Zhu Qian was to take care of her and make her life better, but Xia Ran happened to hear this answer through the door.

Originally, when Xia Ran heard sounds on the stairs, she knew that Mu Hua and Zhu Qian were coming up, so she couldn’t help but press her ear against the door to listen. However, what she heard made her feel despair.

Mu Hua had said he would provide for her, and now, he had promised another woman the same thing.

Xia Ran’s heart ached a little. She felt as if she was about to suffocate. How could Mu Hua say such ambiguous words to Zhu Qian so easily?
