Chapter 39 I’ll Move Out
“Do you really want to run away from home?” Mu Hua snatched Xia Ran’s suitcase away in an intimidating manner. Xia Ran asked with red eyes, “That’s right. Didn’t you tell me to leave immediately? I can give you and Zhu Qian some space!”
She kept mentioning Zhu Qian. How much did she care about Zhu Qian?
Mu Hua felt that he had already explained to her why he had to take care of Zhu Qian. Why couldn’t she understand?
“You sleep in the master bedroom, and I’ll sleep in the guest room.” No matter how angry Mu Hua was, he couldn’t really let Xia Ran leave home alone at night.
What if she met a bad guy? He couldn’t imagine the consequences.
With that, Mu Hua went to another guest room on her own.
Xia Ran stood at the door of the master bedroom and her tears finally fell. She had been crying a lot during the past few days.
After putting the suitcase back in place and closing the door, Xia Ran slept on the bed alone and felt an unprecedented sense of loneliness.
In the past, there were cases of Mu Hua going on business trips or working overtime. She also slept alone, but at that time, their hearts were together. She was very happy sleeping alone.
It was different now. She felt that Mu Hua was not by her side, nor was his heart. He had gone to Zhu Qian.
This feeling of loneliness was something she had experienced in the orphanage in the past. At that time, Xia Ran had slowly grown up and started to understand her situation and background. She had no parents or relatives. Although she had many friends in the orphanage, she was still lonely. When she slept alone, she often imagined that the little friends sleeping beside her were her parents.
It wasn’t until she met Mu Hua, was saved by him, and even sent to school that Xia Ran started to feel that the loneliness was disappearing.
She had hope, a bright future, and a crush.
It was Mu Hua who had changed her pitiful life. Now, it was Mu Hua who wanted to throw her back into the darkness.
The more Xia Ran thought about it, the sadder she became. She hid under the blanket and cried. She took out her phone, opened a job application with tears in her eyes, and started looking for a summer job.
No matter how sad she was, she had to be strong. She couldn’t be a parasite. She had to prove to Mu Hua that she, Xia Ran, was capable of living independently. Later, she fell asleep. When Xia Ran woke up, the phone was still in her hand.
“Miss Xia, you can come down for breakfast.” Auntie He’s voice sounded outside the door.
Xia Ran closed her eyes again in exhaustion. “Auntie He, I’m not hungry. You guys eat.”
She seemed to have a cold and a slight fever. She felt groggy.
Auntie He had no choice but to go downstairs.
“Where is she?” Mu Hua asked with a frown when he saw Auntie He come down but Xia Ran didn’t.
“Miss Xia said she’s not hungry. She asked you to eat first,” Auntie He replied.

How could she not be hungry? She was throwing a tantrum and going on a hunger strike to protest.

Mu Hua’s expression darkened.
Auntie He asked carefully, “Mr. Mu, why don’t I send some food up to Miss Xia?”
“Deliver what? Let her starve. She’ll come down and eat herself when she’s hungry,” Mu Hua said coldly.
Zhu Qian listened from the side and was overjoyed.
She deliberately reached for the bowl and let out a gasp as it burned her. “Ah! It’s hot!”
“Be careful,” Mu Hua warned immediately. “The porridge is a little hot. Don’t eat it yourself.”
Zhu Qian’s heart was filled with anticipation. “Then you…”
Was Mu Hua going to feed her?
“Auntie He, feed her.” Unexpectedly, Mu Hua asked Auntie He to feed her.
Auntie He nodded and was about to pick up the bowl to feed Zhu Qian when Zhu Qian rejected her. “No, no. I don’t really like porridge. I’ll just eat some bread and milk.”
“That works.” Mu Hua didn’t pay much attention to her.
After breakfast, Mu Hua didn’t look at Xia Ran but went straight to the company.
Xia Ran fell asleep in her room again. When she woke up, she felt even more uncomfortable, but she didn’t dare to take any medicine lest she hurt the child.
Just like that, the day passed. Xia Ran didn’t go downstairs to eat for the entire day. When Mu Hua returned in the evening, Auntie He took the initiative to tell him, “Mr. Mu, Miss Xia didn’t come down to eat all day and locked herself in her room. She seemed to be very tired. Is she sick?”
Sick? Mu Hua glanced at the second floor with worry.
“I’ll check.” He went straight to the second floor.

Surprisingly, the door wasn’t locked. Mu Hua opened it immediately.
Xia Ran was sleeping on the bed and didn’t move when she heard the noise. Mu Hua asked coldly, “Aren’t you going to get up and eat? Are you trying to starve yourself to death to anger me?”
Xia Ran was actually doing such a childish thing.
