“You woke me,” he said and slammed the door shut.

“When did I fall asleep?” He asked.

“Minutes after we arrived, I think,” he said.

“And you didn’t wake me?” He asked as he walked back into the room. He looked at Gun, who was still asleep and lying uncomfortably.

“He said I should just leave you,” he answered.

King glared at him then went up to the bed and pulled Gun down, lying him properly. Since he was considerate, he should return the favour.

“I came to wake you up because the meeting is happening in an hour. Gun’s luggage is in the car. We won’t have time to take him back to the house you’re staying in,” he said.

King looked at him as he was sitting on the bed getting dressed and asked, “Why am I naked?”

“It was his idea. You didn’t look comfortable in a suit, according to him,” he answered.

King nodded his head. “Fine. What do you suggest we do?”

“With Mr Laedeke?” He confirmed.

King nodded his head, answering him.

“Take him with? Someone might follow us back here and attack us. He can stay in the car while you are in the meeting,” he suggested.

“Have Delta meet us there. She’ll take him home. We can’t leave him in the car waiting,” he simply said. There were many things that could happen and he wasn’t willing to risk Gun’s safety.

Chips was smirking behind him and quickly fixed his expression when he stood up, pulling his shirt on.

King looked down at Gun.

He leaned down and picked him up, wrapping his arms and legs around him. He covered Gun with his jacket and took the cropped jacket that was lying on the couch while Chips took his shoes and his phone and wallet.

They made sure they had everything, then King carried him to the car.

Sitting at the back, he held Gun against. He thought he would let him go once they got into the car, but he didn’t.

He was too comfortable and the smell that came off him it was intoxicating and comforting.

The drive was silent, and the car was dark. He could do anything he wanted with Gun right now, but what would that anything be?

He rested his head in the crook of Gun’s exposed neck and shuddered as he let the air out—this was dangerous.

*

They arrived at the meeting spot.

It was a restaurant one of his business partners owned.

Everyone was inside already waiting. One thing about King, he didn’t like tardiness, and he was the only one allowed to be late, not that he ever was.

Delta climbed out of the car when she saw them arriving.

From inside of the restaurant, they could see what was happening outside too.

King climbed out with Gun in his arms, surprising Delta, who looked at Chips and saw that he was smirking.

She went back to the car and opened the back as King spoke. “Take him to my home and stay with him.”

She almost asked why his hands were cupping Gun’s butt, but kept the questions to herself. She bowed to him and left with little to no instructions.

King placed his hands in his pockets and watched as the car drove off.

When it was out of sight, he turned to the restaurant. He steeled his expression and so did Chips, “Let’s go deal with those nosy mother fuckers.”

Inside the car, Gun slowly sat up, frightening Delta, who stepped on the brakes.

He was like someone who rose from the dead.

She turned to him and said, “You scared me.”

“Who told you to step on the brakes? What if I broke my neck?” He asked.

“King would have killed me,” she muttered.

“Take me to see Troy,” he said.

“King specifically told me to send you home,” she said.

“Kai’s busy. Who knows how long he will be and you can always blame me when he scolds you,” he said.

She sighed and nodded her head. “Fine, but he is at the hospital recovering.”

Gun nodded as she started the car. He needed answers, and the only one he could ask was the one who dragged him here.

Delta paid the nurses at the reception desk a few Singaporean dollars to let them in to see Troy.

Gun walked into the room, covering himself in Kai’s jacket.

Troy was asleep on the bed, and he was servery injured.

Gun’s body shook as he stared at him. ‘This was all because I showed up?’

Delta walked into the room and took a tube out of her pocket with some sort of herb inside it. She opened it and held it under his nose.

Troy immediately woke up as she placed the tube away with a smirk.

He frantically looked around the room as he rubbed his nose.

He saw Delta and asked, “What is it?”

Delta motioned with her eyes across her.

Troy turned to look at what it was and saw Gun standing there, staring at his broken arm.

Troy beamed, “Awe, Mr Laedeke, you’re here?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” He asked.

His gaze hardened as he looked at him and asked, “How are you? Did Kai do this?”

Troy sighed and nodded his head as Delta left the room.

He looked at Gun and said, “How about you take a seat?”

Gun found a chair and dragged it to the bed.

He sat down and looked at Troy, who was waiting for him.

“I met someone today, an Adrian. He kept calling Kai King. What is that about? And right now, he is meeting a group of people to sort smaller gangs and there is something about a politician and the harbour being watched by the police.”

Troy’s eyes widened, but relaxed. He smiled at him and said, “I’m sorry you had to find out about that.”

“What is going on Mr Troy?” He asked, worried.

“Well, if you met Adrian then it is no secret that you and King are together to all his partners and he’ll have to keep you by his side now,” he said with a smile.

Gun already knew this because of what Kai had said.

“President Kai is just an alias, his true identity is King of the Thailand mafia that has its hands in all parts of the world that flourish,” he explained.

“But it’s best that you know less. You just need to focus on getting that man to fall in love with you,” he added.

Gun stared at him and the longer he looked at Troy, the more he thought he deserved to get beaten up. “I’m starting to agree with Kai about injuring you.”

Troy gasped and mocked, “I’m starting to agree too.”

“But why me? Would you have done the same with another?” Gun asked him.

Troy shrugged. “I don’t know. Other girls get together with him because he is President Kai or King the mafia leader, not because he needs someone by his side.”

“I really don’t get this,” Gun said with a shake of his head.

“Then why are you still here? I don’t buy the reason you gave me, is it because of the money? Because he’s handsome? Bec…”

“I needed to get away!” Gun cut him off.

“Away from what?” He asked curiously.
