Chapter 1: Prologue

In this world being a commoner is hard but just like anything in life there's levels to everything. So here I'm Theo Chester, at an inferior level than a commoner. That's right i’m currently a slave that is about to be bought…

How did I get here exactly… 

I grew up in a small village located far north of the Brevell Kingdom,I was living with my older brother Keith. I don’t know much about my parents, all I know is that they died during the Demon Invasion eight years ago.

Keith decided to join the army so that he could put bread on the table for both of us, he told me “Listen Theo since I don’t have much of an education the army is the only way for me to earn a good amount of money for both of us… So don't worry Theo, I will always have your back.”

I never believed Keith when he told me that joining the army was the only way. After all it was just the two of us we didn’t need much to survive. I had a hunch that he joined the Army for vengeance against the demons that killed our parents. I felt this way because whenever the word Demon was used in his vicinity he had the angriest face…

But it was all for nothing, my older brother Keith was killed during one of the clashes with the demons. I came to know about this by the mail that was sent from the army to our rent-house in the village. When this news reached the landlord he immediately kicked me out of the rent-house. I didn't even have time to grieve, well I had no choice but to comply. After all, no landlord wants a tenant who wouldn’t be able to pay the rent. If only I was  born in this village instead of being an outsider… 

From this point on I don’t remember much. All I knew was I just kept walking and walking with no thoughts in my mind and no clue of where my destination was going to be, I kept this up until I fainted and passed out on a road.
