We ran around Octobrakk for a few minutes, unable to close the gap thanks to his obscene size. I spent the whole time looking for an opening, but was unable to see any.
"Asmode, you okay with getting hurt?" I yelled, and I saw his face light up as he understood the plan immediately. He covered his body in a thick layer of rock, and leapt at one of the monster's tentacles, shifting it off balance slightly. I ran beneath the gap it made, finding myself beneath Octobrakk, staring at his underside.
'Electric Discharge.'
Branches of lightning burst from my body, reaching the titan's body and conducting throughout it, causing its muscles to spasm slightly. This did nothing in the long run except make him angry, though.
"CRETINS!" The beast squealed, and I noticed hundreds of ice spears forming all over his body. The magic weapons erupted forth, shooting in every direction. Multiple scraped all over my body, with one of them taking a good chunk of skin off of my thigh. After that attack, I could see him preparing for another one, which seemed to be a breath attack from beneath.
"Tiala! Pull!" I ordered, watching as she withdrew the large vine whip and slung it at me. I used a small amount of 'Vine Control' to ensure I would be dragged away. I flew through the air, tumbling and landing beside my companions just as the puff of ice escaped Octobrakk. "Thank you," I huffed, feeling a small surge of fear run throughout me.
"YOU HAVE BROKEN THE DEAL, HUMANS." Octobrakk gargled, now seeming more cocky in his posture as he stuck to the wall just above his eggs and stared us down like Cthulhu has been depicted doing.
"What deal?" I asked back, yelling to ensure he heard me.
"Levi?" Tiala asked, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Are you okay? You're speaking really weird."
"I'm fine, i'm just talking to…" I stopped myself, realising how obscene that must have sounded. "Just give me a minute, but stay ready for a fight."
"THE DEAL I MADE WITH THE SINS," the octopus replied, extending his severed tentacle. "A HERO HARMED ME, AND YOU HUMANS HAVE INTERRUPTED MY NESTING."
"We apologise!" I answered, carefully thinking of my next words. "We are Sins, too!"
Instead of words, Octobrakk replied with a noise similar to fingernails being dragged across a chalkboard. I assumed it to be a laugh, but couldn't be sure. "YOU THINK ME SO NAÏVE? SINS DWELLING IN HUMAN FORM TO FIGHT A BEAST SUCH AS ME?"
"Asmode," I turned to look over my shoulder. "Can you… transform?"
"Yeah," he replied, nodding. "Never done it fully before, though."
"Me neither," I tutted. "You or me?" I asked, sure he already knew the deal.
"Think you could handle me?" He asked, smirking.
"Easily," I joked back. I turned back to Octobrakk and yelled, "this is Wrath!"
In this world, strength ruled. That was final. Tactics, plans, and trying to create strength in numbers were all well and good, but what if there was a single entity that could outweigh all of those? A punch that could ruin a plan before it was set in motion, an aura that could cause a group of a thousand to scatter and hide, and the overpowering urge to destroy any tactics.
Asmode was now that: raw power.
Each step seemed to change him. His skin darkened, as dark as the space I floated in after my first death. His head protruded at several points, bones of gold jutting through to provide a disgusting crown. His back exploded open, though no blood nor skin was spilled; a wheel of string that- despite having no barbs on it- seemed to cut through the very space around it.

"INCOMPLETE," Octobrakk wailed. He writhed once more before swinging a tentacle towards Asmode. This time, there was no attempt to dodge. He grabbed the limb, stopping it instantly. The power from the collision caused the floor to crack beneath Asmode.
"What the fuck is that? Is that Asmode? Why has he changed like that? His mana signature is..." Tiala trailed off, her brain likely going a mile a minute as she realised the two idiots she had decided to party with weren't lying. But she was right to be worried. His usually red-brown mana signature had turned pure black, as if he was engulfed in a flaming shadow.
I saw Asmode's mouth move, but only heard the tail end of a faint echo. As soon as he had finished speaking, he ripped the tentacle from the monster effortlessly. He threw it aside, his enemy's moans of agony not seeming to bother him as he proceeded forward, now as close to face-to-face as he could get.
"LEAVE MY EGGS ALO-" Octobrakk was cut off by Asmode waving a hand in front of him, causing the cave's walls to bend to his will and hit the octopus in the head with a pillar of rock. The monster froze the pillar and smashed it, its bulging eyes turning bloodshot. "YOU WILL NOT LIVE TO REGRET THAT."
"You are weak," Asmode yelled, seemingly pissed off at something. "Why have you got me fighting someone so weak? Do you know why, Envy?" Asmode turned to me, though his eyes alone told me this was not my teammate speaking. "This is a stain on my name."
Octobrakk, one tentacle still leaking, took another swing at Wrath whilst he was still turned. It was in vein, though, as the wheel on his back seemed to repel the blow, returning it tenfold to the monster.
"Never turn your back on your opponent, as disrespect in battle is worse than death," Wrath recited, turning back to face his opponent. "But I do not let my enemy live long enough to feel disrespected."
The ground beneath Wrath rose him to be only centimetres away from Octobrakk's face which was still wincing in agony from the damage that had been returned to him. Despite the monster's original cockiness at Wrath's unfinished form, it now seemed to recoil from him.
"Little octopus," Wrath chuckled. "You're scared of this form? How far the Great Ones have fallen. You were a good battle back in the day, for all seven of us, yet here you are cowering from me when I am practically a newborn."
"I-I-I AM STILL WORTHY OF BEING A GREAT ON-" Octobrakk's plead was interrupted as Wrath reeled his arm back and landed a single punch on the soft head of the monster. Ripples ran throughout its body, causing its tentacles to extend automatically.
Pop.
Octobrakk was no more, his insides painting the inside of the cave and his innards draping over the unborn eggs and icicles he had made. What stood amidst that carnage was something only saw in nightmares, thought impossible by almost everyone.
Pure power. A God of War.
