[Zixu] «Pure Serenade» 03 - Eldest Young Master: My turn to get on stage and perform ~

When someone came to drag the Eldest Young Master away, he’d still not woken up. He’d been hungover for months, his mental state getting worse and worse, eating and sleeping without the least bit of regularity, without distinguishing between day and night. Fortunately, the heavy curtain of the Jade Building was thick enough, so he could sleep during the day without being bothered by the light.

It was funny, he’d been staying at the Eastern Jade House for a year, but he’d never once seriously listened to a song, or raised his eyes to look at that legendary number one beauty.

He was here only to hide.


Zhongli Zixu didn’t understand what his younger brother wanted at all. He only knew that the people he loved could not escape death.

The people he loved most.

When he realised this, he looked at that young guard, Ze Que, who’d been by his side for a long time, and suddenly broke out into a cold sweat. When he thought about the possibility of him and Ze Que being separated by life and death, he felt as though he was drowning, and he realised that he’d already fallen in love.

There was one day when he was drunk and not in his right mind, in which he couldn’t hold back and kissed his young guard.

As soon as he kissed him, those lonely, unmarked graves at the bottom of Wuding Cliff immediately appeared before his eyes. His drunkenness immediately vanished like smoke in the air, as though he’d fallen into an icy cave.

The only good thing was that Ze Que had also been drunk that day, so when the Eldest Young Master flatly denied it happening, Ze Que believed him.

Ze Que only spoke a faint sentence carrying a sense of disappointment: “Turns out it was a dream….. what a shame.”

Since then, he didn’t dare have any more contact with Ze Que, and had no choice but to stay away from Zhongli Court, and make excuses to send Ze Que away.

Yue Changsheng couldn’t take this anymore.

He paused, then said: “I heard the Eldest Young Master has never been absent this past year, yet he has never asked to see me, so inevitably I was a little curious…..”

The Eldest Young Master was having an anxiety attack1, so he rambled on: “I’m not any different! Oh no, I, I’m even more vulgar!! Every day I only think about how to get into bed with you!!”

Yue Changsheng: “???”

Yue Changsheng’s rationality snapped like a string, and he was stunned.

The Eldest Young Master had never been able to resist beauties, so when he suddenly saw that jade body, his face abruptly flushed red. He hurriedly turned his head and closed his eyes, not daring to look again, and in a panic he carelessly tried covering him back up with the clothes he’d just torn off.

Yue Changsheng was quick to respond, grabbing his wrist: “What are you doing?!”

The Eldest Young Master yelled loudly: “I was wrong! Don’t push me ah!!!” Then slapped Yue Changsheng’s hand away with all his might and plunged into the water head-on.


Yue Changsheng stood dumbly on the spot, just watching as the Eldest Young Master sank under the lotus leaves, with only his limbs remaining on the surface of the water, flailing about and splashing.

“Ah aiya save, save me aaaaaahhh….. aaah save, save gululululu…..”


…..This guy, actually can’t swim???

The indifferent Yue Changsheng with a heart like still water grabbed him by the collar and fished him out of the lake, speaking with an amiable smile: “Are you fucking sick?”

The Eldest Young Master was speechless from choking, crawling on the ground as he coughed repeatedly, his tears and snot overflowing.

Seeing that lonely boat he came in on, he held his dripping wet clothes and leapt into it with a vigorous step, using his hands and feet to row away as though he was escaping from something extremely dangerous.


With the people gone and the place empty, the only thing remaining at Langyuan was that spreading wet spot. Yue Changsheng stiffly stood with his hand raised, feeling both the cold wind whoosh by, and a rising feeling of fury.
