The next day, Davron woke up early and went back to the Red Woods. Before leaving, he told his mother to not sell the fur b rather make winter clothes for the family instead.

The winter was rough in this world. The family’s only heat source was their fireplace and their bodies. Luna had it the worst, her frail body was especially susceptible for colds.

Davron enjoyed the nice weather, on his way to the hunting grounds. He was excited today, not only because of the possible game he could hunt, but also because he was interested in the soul energy, which he absorbed yesterday.

While whistling songs from his old life, he thought ‘Hmm, I wonder what the soul energy does. Hopefully it doesn’t turn me into a rabbit boy.. nahh never, it’s too unrealistic’. He waved his right hand as if he was chasing away a fly.

The young hunter started his second round hunting. With his self-made bow and a lot of motivation, he went out.

After losing more than 30 arrows and breaking his bow twice, Davron managed to kill two more bigear bunnies. Both times, he absorbed soul pieces from his prey.

[Attention! Stored soul pieces are compressed into 1 soul point]
[Host’s stats changed]

“Soul point and my stats changed? AIS open my stats”[Davron]

“Oh, there is an soul point entry. AIS explain it to me, please”[Davron]

[Yes, host]
[Calculating information..]
[A soul point is an amount of compressed soul pieces, which is enough to increase one of host’s stats. Typically, a soul piece would be absorbed and automatically allocated to a random stat. The stat would be imperceptible increased. With the help of AIS, host receives the opportunity to save the soul pieces, compress them into soul points and use his soul points to increase the stats of host’s choice. Unfortunately, with every earned soul point, the next soul point will be harder to collect.]

“What?! I can get stronger by hunting? Does everyone get a soul piece, when they kill something?”[Davron]

[No data is available]

“Ah doesn’t matter, I will definitely find it out along the way”[Davron]

Davron thought for a bit and decided to increase his strength, he was annoyed about the lack of strength in his little arms.

As he increased his strength, a powerful force flowed through his body. It was painful for Davron, it felt as if all his muscles were under tension. This lasted a few seconds before it stopped.

‘How magical, I feel so much lighter’, he thought. Davron made a few jumps, while smiling silly.

The sky was already getting red. Davron decided to go home.

Ellena heard the door open. She had been waiting worriedly for Davron to come home. With big steps, she went to greet her son.

“Welcome home, sweety”[Ellena]

“Hi, mom. I got us two rabbits”[Davron]

He presented his game proudly to Ellena, whose eyes were not on his spoils, but searching his face for possible wounds.

“Don’t worry, the only thing that suffered, were my broken bows! Hahaha”[Davron]

“Silly boy”[Ellena]

After seeing his silly smile, she relaxed and patted his head.

“Brother, did you bring meat?”[Flora]

Wile Davron was talking with his mom, his sisters came running out of their bedroom. Flora was lively as always and although Luna was silent, her eyes were also burning for meat.

“Of course, even more than yesterday”[Davron]

He showed them his spoils. You would think, that the girls would find it gross seeing the dead rabbits, but it was the opposite. Such a life taught them different world views. The dead rabbits meant for them meat for their bellies and fur against the freezing winter.

The family spend a wholesome diner together and then went well-fed to bed.

Time passed and Davron too didn’t sit still. He went out hunting every second day and had earned overall 3 more soul points. However, regrettably he needed more and more rabbits to earn the next points.

Davron had already an idea how to solve this problem, he thought about becoming an adventurer in the future. Stronger creatures might give him bigger soul pieces. Apart from that, he didn’t want to spend his second chance at life as a measly farmer. Being an adventurer gave you the possibility to earn good money, and with a good amount of luck, getting a home in a city. However, Davron was still not old enough.

While Davron was sitting on the bench next to his house, he thought how to use his new soul point.

Previously, he had used two soul points to increase his agility and stamina, which he benefited a lot from.

“Hmm I got too many options. AIS any ideas?”[Davron]

[…]

Whoashh

While Davron sat there and thought, a cool breeze blew at him from his left side. His hair moved along the breeze. He closed his eyes. After a second, he came to a conclusion.

“Vitality”[Davron]

Immediately after increasing his vitality, Davron felt more energetic, but it didn’t stop there. His tiny heart started racing. Something happened in his blood.

[Warning! Warning!]
[Foreign energy is rushing into host’s body]
[Host’s body is transforming..]

He fell to the ground. The foreign energy was flowing into him, like thousands of snakes following distinct paths. Those paths were build like a network and extended to his whole body.

“Ahhhh!”[Davron]

It was hellish for Davron. Never in his life did he experienced such amount of pain.

[Transformation succeeded]
[Amount of flowing foreign energy decreased drastically]

The pain ended and with a tired sigh, Davron passed out.
