[The death of Lady Alissa. 11:40 p.m.]

I pulled out my blade which I had kept hidden during our conversation.

"Wha-what are you-"

But before she could finish, she had already been silenced by my blade. It became covered in her dark red fluids as I unsheathed the knife from her throat.

"May you rest," I whispered as her body fell limb.

I caught her and slowly lowered her down to the floor. She was a beautiful woman. She wore expensive makeup and jewelry, had bright golden hair, and blushed red cheeks. From just the few hours that I'd spent with her, I'd already imagined what her life looked like before I had taken it away from her- born into a wealthy family, admired by all, and spoiled by the status society gave her.

Faint sounds of footsteps- many of them- marched closer toward the door behind me. Looks like I’ve been noticed.

I brought my attention back to the corpse in front of me and closed her eyelids with the side of my finger. I gently took out the necklace she wore and stuffed it deep into my pocket.

Just then, the door swung wide open as five rugged, brute men in suits rushed in.

“Stop right there! Or we’ll shoot!” one of them yelled.

He was the largest out of all of them. I guess that's the leader.

Four of them carried a pistol and steadily held their aim toward me while the fifth man came out of formation and ran over to the woman’s body.

“Fuck..." he murmured as he shook his head. "FUCK!"

I stared back at them with a smile.

“I’ve done you all a favor. You’re free from her tyranny. Run far away and start a new life.”

“You bastard... Do you have any idea what you've done?!"

I paced around the room with my hands in my pockets.

"No. Care to explain?"

"..."

"Shoot him!"

And that's what they did. Time seemed to slow down as I swiftly dodged from side to side, using an assassin's movement technique that they taught back at the academy. I dashed closer and closer to close the gap between us while simultaneously evading the rain of bullets.

The first man- the leader- was my first target. I brought my blade beneath his neck and sliced through without hesitation. May he rest in peace.

One.

“I can’t land a fucking shot!”

One of them began charging toward me with a knife of his own and I quickly reacted by kicking his hand, managing to get rid of his weapon. I pulled him closer to me and brought forth my blade, penetrating him in the center of his forehead. May he rest in peace.

Two.

“Drop the guns! It won’t work! Brother Damian, charge at him with me!”

From both sides, they charged toward me with their knives.

I jumped high into the air, causing the two men to collide with one another as I threw my knife at one of them. The blade managed to strike him right on top of his skull and I landed on his body at the same moment it fell limp to the floor. May he rest in peace.

Three.

“I’ve got you now!”

The other man was right beside me, holding his blade up high and ready to penetrate my skull, just as I had done to the previous man.

“Hey, put down that knife. You’ve already been wounded.”

He looked down at his stomach and his eyes gaped as he realized that his belly had been ripped wide open. The other man had accidentally sliced him open after they'd rammed into each other.

“Ah... AH... ARGHHHHHHHH!" he screamed.

His internal organs began to fall out and eventually, he collapsed to the ground. May he rest in peace.

Four

The final man, the smallest of the five, shook with cowardice and dropped all of his weapons.

“P-please… don’t kill me!” he whimpered as I walked closer to him. "I won't tell anyone! I promise!"

“Will you start a new life?"

"I'm sorry?"

"Will you repent your sins and start anew?" I said.

He nodded as his hands trembled.

"Y-yes! So please let me go..."

I put out my hand and gave a smile. Without hesitation, he grabbed it firmly and shook it. The contract had been established.

“Good.”

Once again, I let out a smile and sent him off as he stumbled while rushing out the door. Just like that, the night became silent just as it had been before I've committed the murder.

[Post assassination of Lady Alissa. 12:08 a.m.]

“Good work, Moloch!”

“Thanks,” I replied.

He was the supervisor who was assigned to me just a few weeks ago. Gray hair, a pretty face, and a slim body- he was naturally a playboy.

On that night, he drove the two of us away from the scene.

“Did you get the necklace as I told you to?” he asked.

I reached into my pocket and pulled it out. “Yes.”

I never would’ve thought that we'd be able to get our hands on one of the Cordeus Stones. As far as I know, there's only six of these in the world.

The car stopped abrupted on the side of the road.

“What’s wrong?”

“Sorry, kid. I’m just doing business.”

"What?"

He pulled out a gun and before I could even react, I was shot in the head.
