S College’s winter training suddenly came after the final exam. Chen Qizhao’s school ended in two weeks. They thought it would be easy after the final exams. Who would’ve expected that the week before the final week, the notice of military training would arrive. Chen Qizhao originally wanted to skip the military training but unfortunately, this year’s military training had attendance requirements. Students couldn’t take long-term leave unless there was a reasonable, physical reason. Therefore, he could only obediently go to military training and leave the Feihong matter to Special Assistant Xu.

Special Assistant Xu had been running to Feihong very diligently recently. He finished signing Nie Chenxiao and brought some people from headquarters.

On the whole, there was no shortage in manpower. There was also Special Assistant Xu so Assistant Yu didn’t dare make any small moves. Everything went quite smoothly.

S College’s holiday time was late and there was the freshman military training.

At a time when others were starting their winter vacation, the freshmen were still standing in a military posture on the winter sports field.

Some research groups had also entered a temporary rest period. Shen Yuhuai and his friends in the group were free. However, their tutors held several classes at S College this year so in their spare time, they would come to S College to help the tutors mark the students. On the way to the office building, they would inevitably see the group of people on the playground.

“Qizhao is also a freshman this year, right?”

Liu Sui looked over the sports field and tried in vain to find a target among the group of people. “Oh, it is really miserable. Everyone else is on holiday while they still need military training.”

The sound of suitcases clanging attracted the attention of many students on the sidelines.

Shen Yuhuai stated, “He isn’t here. He should be on the other side of the sports field.”

“I still want to see him.” Liu Sui’s expression was relaxed. “It is troublesome for you. Shouldn’t you have gone back to B City a while ago?”

“I’m not going back. My family will celebrate the new year in S City this year.”

Shen Yuhuai studied abroad all year round and occasionally encountered frequent competitions. He often didn’t return to S City. So during that time, most of his family would return to B City for the new year and only return to S City after the new year holidays were over. Now he came to the Ninth Research Institute this year so the Shen family was expected to stay in S City for the new year. This would save some trouble.

Liu Sui laughed. “Then I can’t compare to you. I am still struggling to write my thesis while you have written it in the blink of an eye and you are just waiting for the teacher to approve it. Are you planning to continue your studies at graduate school after graduation?”

“Maybe.” Shen Yuhuai looked down at his phone. He had just returned a few data messages when he noticed the chat box that stayed on top.

He had been chatting with Chen Qizhao in the morning and was used to the rhythm of the other person replying in seconds. Now he saw that his message hadn’t received a reply after 8 o’clock and wasn’t used to it.

Liu Sui returned to B City today on a high-speed train. By the time Shen Yuhuai came back after sending him to the high-speed train station, the soldiers on the sports field had been disbanded and the cafeteria was overcrowded.

[Zhao: I didn’t read the message in the morning. I couldn’t eat in the cafeteria at noon because there were too many people. I ordered takeout in the dormitory with Yan Kailin.]

[S: I heard you have the night off?]

[Zhao: Yes, there is time off in the evening and there will be a show the day after tomorrow. Brother Huai, are you at S College?]

[S: I’m here today. What do you want to eat at night? I’ll bring it to you.]

Chen Qizhao sat on the ground while Yan Kailin sat next to him and gobbled up food. He was complaining about the instructor while eating.

Yan Kailin told him, “Brother, it will become cold if you don’t eat. We also have to go back to the sports field after eating.”

There were too many people ordering takeout and the food was delivered to the dormitory too slowly. The time after eating wasn’t enough for a nap. They would have to return to the sports field soon.

Chen Qizhao looked at the message with a slight frown. It was as if he was thinking about something.

“Didn’t you say there is nothing wrong with that online drama? Why are you frowning like this?” Yan Kailin suddenly remembered that his brother’s online drama was about to start airing. “Why don’t you find your counselor and ask for a leave of absence to go to the company in the afternoon? Your attendance should be half enough and it isn’t like they will give you no points, right? Or why don’t you pretend to be sick?”

Not long after he finished speaking, he saw Chen Qizhao’s phone ringing.

Yan Kailin saw the caller on the screen. It was Shen Yuhuai.

Chen Qizhao stood up and went to the window to answer the phone.

Yan Kailin: ?

No, why avoid him to make a phone call?

He was eating and listening when he suddenly heard Chen Qizhao say, “What? Brother Huai, you want to bring us something?”

Chen Qizhao looked at him. “What do you want to eat?”

“I want to eat a lot. What about the place we went to eat last time? I like their roast duck…” Yan Kailin ordered the dishes on his own. The dishes he read out could be considered quite a lot.

Chen Qizhao was expressionless. Couldn’t this person order something real?

“What is he saying?” Shen Yuhuai’s laughing voice came from the phone.

“He…” Chen Qizhao was halfway through speaking when he suddenly thought of something. He didn’t care about Yan Kailin, who was looking through menus on his phone. He leaned sideways against the window and felt the cold wind blowing in from outside as he said, “Yan Kailin told me that the food you cook is delicious.”

Shen Yuhuai paused for a moment. “I made it?”

Chen Qizhao stopped before saying again, “Okay, don’t care about him. It is too troublesome so it is better to eat from the surrounding restaurants…”

“It isn’t troublesome.”

Chen Qizhao’s words stopped before he replied, “Okay.”

“Thank you, Brother Huai.”

Chen Qizhao came back after finishing the call and Yan Kailin looked at him with a bit of sadness.

Chen Qizhao switched his phone to the ordering page and handed it to him. “Hey, what type of roast duck do you want to eat? Order it yourself.”

“Didn’t you just say that Brother Huai would bring it? The delivery there is too slow. Last time, I ordered it and had to give a bad review.”

Yan Kailin took the phone. “You have been very close to Brother Huai recently.”

“Are you okay?” Chen Qizhao stopped abruptly. “Is that so?”

Yan Kailin was speechless. How could it not be so?

Let’s not talk about the military training. Before this, they ate together in the cafeteria several times a week. Every time Shen Yuhuai came to S College and called Chen Qizhao out, Yan Kailin would have no one to accompany him to eat takeout in the dormitory. In addition, last time Chen Qizhao went to eat at a farmhouse with Shen Yuhuai. He didn’t go when called to the bar and he either ran to the company or made an appointment with Shen Yuhuai.

“Don’t you think it is uncomfortable to be with Brother Huai?” Yan Kailin gestured a few times. “It is very uncomfortable. It is like staying with an elder and drinking alcohol isn’t smooth. Let me tell you that during the time I stayed at his place, he didn’t even have a bottle of beer in his refrigerator. At most, it was iced coffee and mineral water. I was absolutely devastated. He is definitely a cold virgin. My brother is better than him. At least my brother still has instant noodles in the refrigerator.”

Chen Qizhao: “…Your brother put instant noodles in the refrigerator?”

“Is that a problem? It is easy to take. Just take out the instant noodles and beer when you want to eat. Shen Yuhuai’s house doesn’t even have instant noodles! If you want noodles then you have to cook it. Don’t talk about it, I want to cry. Still, I have to say that his cooking is really good.”

Chen Qizhao thought about it. Indeed, Shen Yuhuai rarely drank alcohol and he didn’t smoke.

He was thinking about this when he saw the messed up bedroom.

Chen Qizhao told the other person, “After eating, throw away the food.”

Yan Kailin stuffed the noodles in his mouth and hummed in response. “Aren’t you going to eat?”

“I’m not eating.” Chen Qizhao walked into the bathroom. “I’m going to clean up.”

In the blink of an eye, it was night. Shen Yuhuai arrived outside someone’s bedroom door. The moment he knocked on the door, someone came to open the door.

The door opened and his eyes under the lens of his glasses narrowed slightly as he saw Chen Qizhao with half an arm and a shoulder exposed.

Chen Qizhao was holding medicinal wine in his hand. “Brother, go inside first. I’m going to put on some medicinal wine.”(TL: Chinese medical wine is produced by soaking herbs, reptiles or mammals in alcohol and is popular among Chinese people for its nourishing and tonic functions. There are various types with different functions)

He turned and went to the bathroom.

Shen Yuhuai put his things down and walked to the bathroom. He saw Chen Qizhao standing in front of the mirror and trying to wipe his back. From his perspective, the bottom of the scapula was blue and especially stood out against the fair skin of the young man’s back. He saw that the young man was doing laborious movements and walked over directly.

Chen Qizhao looked up and saw Shen Yuhuai in the mirror. The other person walked toward him and the movements of his hand became half a beat slower.

“I’ll help you.” Shen Yuhuai took the medicinal wine from his hand and Shen Yuhuai’s eyes stopped on his bruised back “How did you get this?”

Chen Qizhao couldn’t say that his hands were itchy as he was training with the instructor and he accidentally knocked it, right? His physique was troublesome and it was easy to bruise with just a little bump. He obviously hadn’t felt anything at the time. Unexpectedly, last night he took a shower and noticed it. It was no wonder he felt sore when he raised his hand.

He had to say, “I accidentally got it during military training. I’ve been a bit sore for the past two days so I got some medicinal wine to apply to it.”

Halfway through his words, Chen Qizhao felt a cold touch on his back.

Shen Yuhuai’s cool fingertips pressed against his wound. A feeling of soreness and numbness spread and his shoulders shrank.

Shen Yuhuai asked, “Does it hurt?”

Chen Qizhao lowered his head. “It is a bit itchy.”

It was strange. He obviously wasn’t afraid of itchiness.

Shen Yuhuai didn’t speak. He poured some medicinal wine onto the palm of his hand and rubbed it. “Pull your clothes.”

Chen Qizhao obediently did it. “Yes.”

The warm palms rubbed against his back and evenly rubbed over the bruised area.

Shen Yuhuai’s hands were very steady and the strength of rubbing in the medicinal wine was just right.

Chen Qizhao wondered, “Brother Huai can even do this?”

“I can do a little bit.” Shen Yuhuai lowered his eyes. “You seem to be hurt every time I see you.”

Chen Qizhao stopped. “That isn’t the case, right?”

The last time was when he was hit by He Shuhang outside the research institute.

Shen Yuhuai didn’t speak. His attention was all on the smooth muscles and bones under his palms.

He touched the butterfly bone on Chen Qizhao’s back. It was surrounded by lean muscles and there seemed to be an endless power lurking.

It took a lot of time to rub the medicinal wine in and it seemed to be very long.

By the time Chen Qizhao came to his senses, Shen Yuhuai had already helped him pull up his clothes. “Let’s go. The meal is going to be cold.”

He called Yan Kailin next door to eat and Yan Kailin’s small, square table was set up in Chen Qizhao’s bedroom.

Shen Yuhuai had deliberately put the food in a thermal bag and it was still hot when he took it out. It looked very appetizing.

Yan Kailin played with his tablet. “Brother, when will your online drama be aired?”

Chen Qizhao replied, “In two weeks. It should be before the new year.”

Shen Yuhuai looked at Chen Qizhao. “Is this the online drama you invested in before?”

“It is more than that. My brother is so busy running around. Didn’t you also sign a contract with that little star?” Yan Kailin searched through the video software and found the trailer for Mind Eyes. “Brother Huai, this is it. The male lead actor was signed by my brother.”

Chen Qizhao: “……”

He looked at Shen Yuhuai and found that Shen Yuhuai’s gaze had stopped on the trailer.

“The trailer feels good,” Shen Yuhuai said. “This seems to be the star you were chasing last time?”

Chen Qizhao told him, “I don’t chase stars.”

The corners of Shen Yuhuai’s mouth rose slightly. “I know. You are just a bit interested.”
