“Okay. Thank you, Natsume-san. Go and sit on the seat next Kasumigaoka-san.”

Mafuyu-sensei pointed to the seat near the window which was empty. Homura slowly walked and he was shocked as he saw the figure next to his seat.

Kasumigaoka Utaha. Well, she is same as Eriri, a heroine of an anime. Her profession is a novelist. And the current most popular romance novel – “Metronome in Love” is hers. But for our protagonist – Natsume Homura, the problem wasn’t with her identity. It would be better to say he has a problem with her presence.

‘Why? Why? I am sitting next to her…’

For the first time, he lamented his luck which always seemed to be good. Homura is not a lonely person. Even after his disguise he just looked like a normal guy if he didn’t smile that much or if his bangs are not in place of eyes.

Now the problem is that being too ugly or too beautiful is also a type of curse. If Homura attends the class with his looks, it will make the whole class frenzy. Mostly from girls’ side. But most boys will be jealous of him and it’s a high chance that he will not able to get a normal friend.

And that is the same problem with his next seat neighbour – Kasumigaoka Utaha. Because of being too beautiful in all aspects let it be face, figure, etc., she excels at it. And she a perfect girl one would want to take as a girlfriend.

Now, the question arises…. How to protect yourself then?

The answer is simple. First, change the way of dress. Just like Homura. Wear disguises and your beauty will lessen down a bit. But there are still the risks of exposure.

Second, is to change the way you talk. Better to say, change your personality. And Kasumigaoka Utaha did the second one. The thing she is famous for is her black bellied tongue. She gives hard and heavy remarks to people during conversation which normally makes people angry. And due to this she has a method to protect herself though because of it she is alone.

And this is where Homura has a problem. Even though he disguised himself, Homura intends to make friends. Some good friends. After all he doesn’t intend to become a loner. But after seating next to her, he somehow knew that his bright and cheerful school life which was supposed to start have probably ended before it.

*Bell Sounds…*

And slowly the classes went on and finally the time for rest arrived. The lunch break. Seeing nobody approaching him, Homura didn’t intended to waste time, so he quickly took out his hastily made bento and walked out of the classroom.

“*Sigh* my first day is already in its worst. It’s so boring in school.”

Thinking of the time he spent listening to the chatter of the teachers made him a bit doubt whether something worth is here or not. His father told him to attend and make memories but…

“I am even getting hungry. Better find a silent place to eat silently.”

The first choice was obvious. The rooftops. Homura have seen in countless anime how loner protagonist goes to rooftops to enjoy the breeze.

‘Does it feel that good?’

He always wanted feel it once. But to his luck which was worst according to him, the rooftops were closed with a lock. And he didn’t want to commit a mistake by breaking it on his first day. He came down the stairs and roamed around the school. After five minutes or so he found a very good place to eat.

In south, behind the school building where students don’t come much, he found a wooden bench just beneath the bloomed Cherry Blossom tree.

“This place is also not bad.”

He sat down and opened up his bento which didn’t contain much than what he can get from cafeteria. Some bread and juice. He didn’t wanted to use money, so he bought what he had in his apartment. He opened the wrapper and started eating the bread.

“What Pikachu must be doing now? I have told him to not litter but…. *Sigh*”

After eating he lied down on the bench. He could see the pink cherry blossom above his head illuminated by the sunlight which made it more beautiful. Suddenly a small breeze passed making him tickle a bit. The petals afloat in air were carried but the light breeze. A petal just fell on his cheek.

“This scene is probably very romantic. I am sure if somebody confesses here, the girl will definitely agree.”

Homura giggled after watching such beautiful scene. Seeing such beautiful scene, made him think ‘Aaah! I made the right choice in choosing my pen name.’

Hearing the bell indicating the end of break, he stood up and looked at the tree once again.

“I guess… The school isn’t that boring after all.”

Homura smiled and walked away after blowing the Sakura petal on his hand.
