Ao Chu, the patrol leader of Rizhao City, saw a large group of people surrounding the Potential Alliance War Beast Shop ahead.
Inside, loud clamouring could be heard.
Ao Chu with a reddened demeanor immediately parted the crowd, his voice full of justice he roared into the crowd, “What’s going on?”
As the patrol leader, he held a lot of power in the city, for any incidents that involved the law and order fell under his jurisdiction. Even though every year, the shops on both sides of the main road would pay a lot of tributes to the higher ups, but as the local saying goes, ‘county officials are incomparable to on the spot administration’, for the patrolling city guards who the citizens meet every day like Ao Chu… Nobody would dare to offend them and the guards often showered with small gifts in order to better their relationships.
Especially during special occasions, there wouldn’t be a shortage of gifts.
“My lord.” Some shameless person who wanted to curry favour with Ao Chu immediately went up to him to explain the situation. “It’s like this, hearsay some travellers from afar didn’t know the rules of the trade here and wanted to buy the gold flying dragon, the treasure of the town store.”
“Those newcomers are idiots, the sample prices are just laid out for people to see, how can the Potential Alliance Warbeast Shop possibly sell it. If not, there wouldn’t be an uproar.”
“It is indeed true that as newcomers, they are not familiar with the rules here, but I think that the Potential Alliances has to shoulder part of the blame as well. If they don’t plan to sell it, they shouldn’t say it’s for sale in the first place, now what are they supposed to do that a customer is really willing to pay for it.
“Ha! It serves them right for looking down on others and trying to bully newcomers, thinking that they wouldn’t be able to afford it, unfortunately they’ve struck against an iron plate this time.”
“Serves them right…….”
The crowd standing in front of Patrol Leader Ao Chu was full of discussion at the current situation.
Ao Chu only heard a few words but was already able to fully figure out what was going on.
The shopkeeper’s a common bully, the server looks down on the outsider, wanting to tease them and make them embarrassed; who would expect that these people took the two con-artists seriously. They really decided to buy, causing the Potential Alliance to be at a loss as what to do right now.
If this was a small shop, Captain Ao Chu wouldn’t bother to deal with this kind of crap and would teach the treacherous merchants a lesson. However, the Potential Alliance gave huge amounts of tributes annually. Money and gifts were all handed out loftily, and as the saying goes. ‘To receive money from others,is to take care of the disasters for others.’ Captain Ao Chu could not turn a blind eye to this any longer. He neatly arranged his full body armor, and grasped hold of the gold-grade ‘Blood Wave’ cleaver at his waist. Followed by the ten city guards, he walked towards the door of the Potential Alliance War Beast Shop through the passage made by the crowd.
Inside, it was also full of people.
A shop assistant, paralysed by fear, sat on the ground.
Another shop assistant was shaking like a lost chick, and far in a corner, there were another group of shop assistants who absolutely looked like they wanted to disappear from the shop.
A few guards from the shop were beaten blue black all over, those who did not faint were slumped to the ground and raised their hands in surrender. Those who fainted on the ground, had their mouths and noses gurgling blood; forming a bloody trail, flowing from the scattered gold coins all over the floor right up to where Captain Ao Chu was standing.
As a patrol guard captain with Quasi-Tian rank strength, Captain Ao Chu could not help but frown slightly when he saw that the guards of the War Beast Shop had been beaten so badly.
Although the strength of these few guards was not high, they were all around Earth Rank Five.
The strongest guard, the one with the Earth Rank Eight strength, Mi Roff, also was nowhere to be found … However, being able to knock these guards off in one go without damaging everything in the shop, this level of combat ability and this control of power, had to be taken seriously by Captain Ao Chu. His eyes quickly swept towards the few outsiders who didn’t understand the local rules and regulations. Now there were several people on the other side, both men and women, the person standing in front was a fat man with a face that begged to be hit, standing beside the fat man, was a skinnier lankier man with eagle-like eyes.
In addition to these two, there were two tall Minotaurs that exuded a powerful aura in the area.
Behind the minotaurs were four other female Pigmen.

They seemed to be the guards of this little entourage, and seeing them stand guard beside three beauties of extraordinary temperament, one could tell at first glance that they weren’t some ragtag group of mercenaries, but were rather a group of disciples from a well-known faraway sect.
“Cough,” Captain Ao Chu coughed lightly, alerting everyone about his presence and putting on the air of a Patrolling Guard Captain before asking, “What’s going on?”
“My lord, you’re just in time!” The shop assistant, who was shaking, took a look at Captain Ao Chu and immediately rushed over as if he had been saved, bowing respectfully to Captain Ao Chu, his voice full of gratitude. “My lord, you must bring justice for our Potential Alliance, we are the most peaceful and law-abiding shop in Rizhao City. Today, what crimes have we suffered..? You are unaware that these customers threatened to smash our shop if we didn’t hand over the Golden Flying Dragon. You must also know, that price is only for show. Even if the price was five times higher, it would still not be enough. This is the most beloved treasure of our store, no matter how high the price, we would never be willing to sell it.”
“Enn.” Captain Ao Chu certainly wasn’t foolish enough to directly agree with the shop assistant, he just made a sound to show that he acknowledged the shopkeepers side of the story.
“The truth of this matter must surely be investigated, however it is also true that you are a law-abiding shop. If someone is going to threaten you, we as the patrol team of the city will surely not take it with our eyes closed.” Exclaimed Deputy Chief Mato.
The people on the sidelines showed signs of disgust at the use of the adjective “law-abiding”.
As long as one was a citizen of this city, everyone knew that not only the Potential Alliance, but rather in the entire Rizhao City, there was not a single shop that operated legally and lawfully.
About a thousand years ago, there was a bard who passed by here, and as he was leaving, he said: This is the foulest and most corrupt place under the sun, and even the air is filled with the stench of copper. If I had to choose, instead of living here, I would rather stay in hell… A thousand years ago, it was corrupt to that level, and a thousand years later, who in the city of Rizhao would still dare to call himself a righteous merchant?
Not only amongst merchants, but all righteous people had long starved to death in Rizhao City.
Those on the sidelines didn’t speak, but just mocked the words of Deputy Mato in their hearts.
They were waiting for a showdown, the bigger the better.
It’s been a long time since there was any disturbance in Rizhao City, so if a fight were to break out, it would spice up their lives a little.
“These people, are you the ones who beat them?” Ao Chu observed again and again, making sure the other party did not have any Heaven Rank experts. The strongest one was only Earth Rank 7, however the equipment on all of them were very good. Almost everyone had Gold Grade treasures. For Ao Chu, who had been a common thug for three hundred years before he finally reached the rank of captain of the city guards; he had accepted bribes for decades to save up for his “Blood Wave” cleaver. He couldn’t help but be jealous at the spoiled newcomers, these foreigners were too rich!
“Yes.” Ye Kong nodded.
“If you come to Rizhao City as visitors, we would naturally welcome you, we welcome visitors from all continents in Rizhao City. But haven’t you ever heard of the saying, ‘Go with the flow’? If you are in our city then you should abide by our rules.” Captain Ao Chu decided to first use basic principles to make them know their place.
“My lord, we are good guests who obey the law,” Fatty Hai replied with a crooked smile.
“Hitting others can still be considered as obeying the law?” As soon as Captain Ao Chu said this, the men behind him, as well as the crowd on the sidelines, all started laughing in unison.
“If someone in the city is stealing, may I ask my lord if we can catch him and beat him up?” Ye Kong asked rhetorically.
“Of course,” retorted Captain Ao Chu, however not giving the other man a chance to trap him verbally, he immediately continued. “However my dear visitor from afar, I would like to make it clear towards the inappropriate example you have just given. In our city of Rizhao, security is excellent and there isn’t a single thief under the sun. Perhaps you do not know that Rizhao City is blessed with the title of The City of Sunshine, and the Garden of the Mountains. Safety, cleanliness, beauty, riches, and happiness are the staples of the city. Disasters like, poverty, exploitation, ugliness, and decay, are things that cannot be born here in this city…”
“Really?” Ye Khung shrugged his shoulders in disbelief.
“Regarding the matter of you wanting to purchase the gold flying dragons, I think I’ve caught the gist of what has happened.” Captain Ao Chu naturally would try his best to protect the Potential Alliance. This shop was owned by the cousin of the city lord and is usually managed by the eldest son of the fifth branch of his house. Should the matter of him siding with the outsiders reach the ears of the city lord, his position as the captain of the patrol guards would definitely be in jeopardy.
