Chapter 880: Get Out!

T/L, “Thanks for the information guys!!! I got that Emperor thing cleared up, will be using the ‘he’ pronouns on him until the author decides otherwise. Once again, thank you very much!!!”

Emperor, “See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?”

Yue Yang, mumbling, “You’re the one who’s confusing the crap out of everyone.”

Emperor, “Pardon, what was that?”

Yue Yang, “Nothing, Your Majesty, I was just expressing how lucky I am to be graced by your presence. But alas, the night is no longer young, and I shall regretfully take my leave.”

Yue Yang, *Exits Tian Luo Palace*

Emperor, “..brat.”

T/L, *Awkward laugh* “Well… Let’s just get into the story.”

The night was as cool as water and the moon was crooked like a hook.

The peaceful Tian Luo Palace suddenly heard a huge explosion that shocked the guards on duty.

Was there another enemy coming? The two generals on duty rushed to the scene to investigate the blast quickly and found that a dark shadow had just disappeared. As they were about to capture the thief, the Guardian War God appeared levitating in the air, saying that it was not an enemy attack but the Third Young Master who was experimenting. Then, the Guardian War God ordered the two guards to retreat.

The Third Young Master was a great master of making puppets of beasts, second only to the Ghost Genius Yue Gong who was well known in the Soaring Dragon Continent.

But what kind of research was he doing this time?

The explosion was powerful, so it seemed like it was to be a very high-level practice even though they wouldn’t know whether it was a success or a failure. The two generals on duty did not dare to ask more as they quickly left according to the order. The matter of the superiors was not something they could inquire about. Besides, there were two guards on duty that were waiting outside for them to appease.

Outside the Tian Luo Emperor Hua Xu Ri’s bedroom, student Yue Yang rushed in with tattered clothes.

The female officer on duty was dumbfounded.

She didn’t know whether to stop him or not.

She stared at Yue Yang zooming past the gates and managed to see it close. Well, it’s too late to stop him anyways.

Immediately turning her head back, she pretended that she didn’t see Yue Yang entering the chambers.

“What are you doing? I am already turning in,” His Majesty was furious— this kid even dared to run to his bed. This is too much!

“Don’t go to sleep yet, get up and help me check this out. Although it didn’t succeed, I found the right idea and I think it is very promising, so come and take a look. You can even give me some advice about it!” Clumps of dark matter in his hands were presented to him like treasure. Accepting or rejecting it would both be awkward, so he snorted angrily and waved a tremor of pure white energy from his hands. He then put the items from Yue Yang’s hand into it before pushing him away tenderly, making the veil over his bed shroud over a layer of mist.

“Nonsense, who allowed you to enter my private chambers? If you do this once more, you will be severely punished and not be forgiven!” His Majesty first criticized Yue Yang for his rudeness.

“Well, I just forgot about it this time out of happiness?” Although Yue Yang explained, he had no regrets.

“Then if I am happy at the moment, can I beat you up? What sophistry!” His Majesty would definitely be internally injured one day if the boy keeps angering him. However, His Majesty still knew who Yue Yang was. Although this kid was a mess in life, he was still very serious and focused when doing big things. If he was happy, it would not be very strange for him to have this kind of behavior of rushing to his bedroom at night as this kid was obnoxious by nature!

“Then, may Your Majesty forgive me just for this time!” Student Yue Yang apologized again and his attitude seemed very sincere.

There was a big explosion just now and he didn’t have time to wash his face.

All he cared about was running over to find him.

The explosion turned his face into a hue of charcoal as he showed himself with a bit of embarrassment and focused persistence. His Majesty saw it and couldn’t help but give him the benefit of the doubt. Technically, he became like this because of me. If it weren’t for me, he might have been in the arms of some beauty instead of coming into my palace to be lectured.

His Majesty wanted to be angry with this kid, but he just couldn’t.

When he saw his nose twitching, looking like he smelled something unusual, His Majesty coughed immediately and diverted Yue Yang’s attention, “I will not pursue the matter of barging into the palace at night. However, this time is the only exception; there are no do-overs.”

“I thank Your Majesty.”

When Yue Yang saw that His Majesty was not angry anymore, he immediately introduced his research results, “It would be impossible even if I used the entire powers of the Tong Tian Tower and the Heaven Realm to make a similar existence like the Grimoire; that is something that even a God is unable to accomplish, after all. So, I was thinking, why do we want to build castles in the sky in the first place? We don’t have such high technology and we certainly can’t build castles in the sky, so we can build them on the ground…Of course, this is just an analogy. What I mean is to use our current technology and capabilities to make substitutes that we can achieve.”

His Majesty’s interest was piqued by his words. Indeed, if it was too difficult to accomplish, why not change your mind and set the goal to something lower?

Yue Yang moved a stool and sat in front of the bed.

He then started talking about his own experience endlessly.

While talking, he also signalled the female officer on duty outside to come in and pour him a cup of tea.

The female officer heard His Majesty beckoned for her to enter as she came in with some tea. When she saw Yue Yang sitting in front of His Majesty’s bed, her eyes widened as if she saw a ghost.

Yue Yang took a sip of tea and even expressed that he was very dissatisfied with her poor service, but the female officer had hurriedly left, so there was no way for him to complain.

Seeing this, His Majesty almost missed the epiphany.

Did he just assume that he lives here now?

This kid is really making himself at home!

However, His Majesty, who was kept in anticipation by Yue Yang’s interest at this time, did not chase him out. Instead, he listened while studying the semi-finished products in his hands.

Just like the inaugural speech of the president of the United States that he had seen before, Yue Yang talked with excitement and fluttered his fist, “It is nothing but a pipe dream for us to make a treasure or something that can contract multiple Battle-type Beasts! Even the ancient Grimoires created by the Gods only have a Life Guardian beast for each person. Hence, we should not think about how to surpass or approach a goal like that before we have that powerful ability. However, we can reflect on one point here, since the Grimoires and the Life Guardian Beasts exist, and the attributes and characteristics of each of them differs with every individual, what does it mean? It means that the potential and characteristics of each person are different, or at least on the aspect of the soul, the body would be different. On the other hand, the things you learn from the day after tomorrow remain the same, but the things you learn from the day after tomorrow are unable to change the truth.”

The more His Majesty listened, the more he liked it. There was a feeling of inspiration flashing in his mind as he felt that there needed to be something a little more.

He couldn’t help it, so he cooperated with Yue Yang’s speech and asked, “So what did you find out?”

Yue Yang shook his fist, “I dare not be 100% sure, but I am 90% sure. It can prove the fact that everyone’s soul has the potential of a beast contract. At the very least, most people would have this possibility,”

His Majesty could not help but exclaim at Yue Yang’s amazing remarks, “This is impossible, what are you using to prove it?”

Yue Yang smiled very confidently.

Although his face was dark, he was still full of charms. A confident light shimmered in his eyes that were as bright as a star!

He stood up, waved his fist heavily, and strengthened his tone, “First of all, let’s think about why some people can form a Grimoire Contract while some people can’t. Maybe many warriors will say that it depends on the bloodline heritage. That is one of the aspects in itself, but more people would consciously realize that it mainly depended on a person’s potential. This potential is linked to all aspects and blood is just one kind of it. In other words, people who can form the Grimoire Contracts must be relatively excellent in all aspects! Let us go beyond— looking at the problem in this way, if everyone’s soul can form a Grimoire Contract, but only very few people can realize their potential…”

His Majesty understood this immediately.

A kind of perplexity that has not been realized for a long time, as if the sun had shown itself from behind the mask of clouds.

It was like the opening of a window. His Majesty felt his eyes suddenly open up. Perhaps the things that he had been pursuing so hard to break through were finally starting to show signs of penetration.

“You mean, is it because the human body restricts the contact between the soul and the Grimoire? Because the human body isolates the communication between the soul and the Grimoire? Is it because of the lack of personal potential that most people can’t make a contract?” His Majesty’s voice became excited as he finally found a path to walk on. Once this mystery was broken, many things became simple.

“That’s right,” Yue Yang clapped his hands and affirmed, “One more question, why can only people under the age of 20 be able to contract the Grimoire? Of course, in the Heaven Realm or the other races, this restriction does not exist as even 100-year-olds can still contract with Grimoires.”

“This is because of the influence of the ‘day after tomorrow’!” His Majesty immediately thought of the most obvious answer.

“Correct,” Yue Yang praised, “For example, if in infancy, almost all people have the potential of the Grimoire Contract. Then, with the passage of time and the growth of the ‘day after tomorrow’, if a person’s potential is not tapped into, it will be consumed and buried, maybe even buried by acquired knowledge and ideas. Why do younger generations of large families have more opportunities to contract a Grimoire? One is because of the excellent bloodline, meaning the potential is sufficient; the second is because of proper training; the third is because of self-confidence— that’s right, it’s self-confidence! Ordinary people don’t have the self-confidence of contracting a Grimoire at all, and immortal belief is the first foundation of Innate Supremacy. Without sufficient self-confidence, you will definitely not be able to contract a Grimoire. Of course, just having self-confidence with no potential or obsession will become an acquired greed or some kind of desire. This would bscures the innate potential and severely isolate the communication of the soul, which is also the focus of the inability to contract a Grimoire. The final reason is that wisdom can be divided into two types— one is knowledge, and the other is intelligence. The lack of the former can be made up by learning, just like the evolution of Battle Beasts to Holy Beasts and Divine Beasts. But if intelligence was lacking, it would be inherently insufficient and become naturally impossible to communicate with souls.”

“Now I understand a little bit why the predecessors put the ranks on the ‘Innate’, ” His Majesty suddenly realized as he screamed out, “Enlightened martial artists are called Innate martial artists and the higher level is called Divine Supreme. It turned out to be us who have to work to get to the innate levels.”

“We have figured out the truth. In fact, many people can form a contract with the Grimoire, but due to the influence of the concept of the ‘day after tomorrow’ and the various influences in growth, the vast majority of people have been sadly reduced to mediocrity,” Yue Yang said excitedly and moved the stool a little bit forward, “If we identified the problem, we can start researching. My idea is to make something that can communicate with souls and can be used by ordinary warriors, just like what you mentioned. Strictly speaking, it won’t be a Grimoire but a summoning item, just like summoning magic crystals. However, the biggest advantage is that it communicates with the soul. The contracted beast would be similar to a Life Guardian Beast, and it is a beast that is closest to its owner’s body attributes and most in line with the growth of one’s body…”

“Your black metal ball is the substitute you were talking about?” His Majesty inspected it carefully but couldn’t see what was special about it.

“What do you mean ‘black metal ball’? It just hasn’t succeeded yet!” Yue Yang was stunned at first. However, he collected himself and explained, “Its function is like this— it is an instrument worn on the wrist. An ordinary warrior or the younger generations who are unable to contract the Grimoire can’t communicate with souls, so we don’t need them to do this. This wrist instrument has a special design to communicate with the soul. We are like seeds, putting our consciousness on the wrist mechanism, whereas it is equivalent to one of our puppet summoned beasts. But ultimately, its function would be to awaken the user’s summoned beast in the body.”

“You mean, this thing is a mechanism?” His Majesty was rather intelligent.

“That’s right,” Student Yue Yang’s stool moved forward slightly, “Comparing this thing to a crossbow, then the summoned beast would be an arrow. As long as you pull the trigger gently, you can launch the crossbow arrow. You don’t need to know how to make a crossbow, and you don’t need to know how to make an arrow either. You wouldn’t need to know anything except how to pull the trigger.”

“According to you, it might just be possible…The problem is, if that is the case, then you are going to be working very hard because everything is provided by you,” His Majesty was a little touched. If this was truly the case, then Yue Yang would be the biggest contributor as this was a purely labor-consuming and unfavorable work.

“I thought you were going to criticize this warrior, claiming that I will control the entire Soaring Dragon Continent in the future!” Yue Yang secretly wiped a cold sweat.

“Do you also have ambitions besides those full of lust?” His Majesty wanted to be serious, but he couldn’t help being giddy.

“Hey, I’m an upright gentleman,” Student Yue Yang’s biggest wish was to pretend to be Liu Xiahui[1] and have beautiful women sit in his arms.

T/L Note: [1] Someone from ancient Literature of China. His name is used to refer to someone as a gentleman, upright, rule-abiding etc etc.

“You? Forget it! But, do you really not need to be paid?” His Majesty suddenly felt a bit of a headache. If this pioneering work can change the entire Soaring Dragon Continent to become successful, what should I award this kid? He lacks nothing!

“Making a puppet Battle-type Beast is very simple, but it is really troublesome to detect the potential and plant the rune markings to communicate with the soul. I suggest that it only be made for beautiful women. Your Majesty, the beautiful women will then be divided amongst the both of us. If you are more capable, you can also have 60% and I’ll take the remaining 40%! Think about it— a large group of beauties surrounding you, the kind of feeling of them drowning you in a sea of milk…” Student Yue Yang couldn’t help but get up.

“What are you talking about?” Your Majesty was angry as he knew that this kid had no good intentions.

“Your Majesty, you hide in your harem every day, so don’t tell me that you don’t like beautiful women. Forget it, you and I are both men, so I understand you. Apologies, I only said that because you are a confidant. Had you been someone like Jun Wu You, I wouldn’t have bothered to care about him. By the way, you may belong to the type that is secretly and silently enthusiastic, so you should communicate with others more. Otherwise, if you keep this up for a long time, you will definitely become mentally unhealthy!” Yue Yang slapped his chest, implying that men should not beat around the bush— they should be daring enough to say it, to love, and if they liked beauties, they should loudly proclaim it as well.

“Get out!” His Majesty was furious. He wanted to rush out of the bed’s veiled tent to kick this kid out of the hall. He dared to say that I’m the type who was secretly enthusiastic? He’s practically asking for death!

[TL note]:

At this point there’s more new characters that are emerging so I’m kind of making the glossary instead of referring to it. I’ll try my best to provide them as accurately as I can, so let me know if any of the names seem awkward or don’t flow all that well!

Once again, thanks for clarifying! Hope you liked that little comical snippet I added above as well. Hope you guys have a great day/night ahead of you!
