There is no animal that perceives everyone from their own species as themself. The only way an animal could do that is if they actually share thoughts, no? A collective conscious on top of their collective unconscious no? Then, does it have an ego? ID? Superego? Can it be sentient? *Can it be supplanted*?

I found myself face-to-face with that question after being isekai'd into a certain almost eldritch hive mind. Man, aren't there any isekai'ing safeguards against being isekai'd into just one small part of an entire collective consciousness?! You're kidding me you shitty gods!!!
