Chapter 69 – Hurts To Death
Everything went as Hadius wanted.
There was Emilia under the dim lamp, and he himself undressed her, no one else. Every time he peeled off the clothes that piled on the floor like snake skin, her white face was dyed red like a flower, and his breathing became rougher and rougher. Everything was satisfactory. Except for one thing, those cold, lifeless eyes.
“Do you want to play at being a doll?”
The lowered eyes slowly turned toward him. Contrary to her compliant attitude, her expression was full of anger and resentment.
“I warn you, don’t call me out like this a second time. Do you think my family is stupid? They’ll notice right away that something’s odd. You better not to– don’t you dare… If my family finds out I’m doing this… If they found out…”
The little body trembled with anger. Hadius twisted one corner of his mouth and cupped his hands around the pale cheeks.
“Don’t worry. By now, Grozhang is working hard to reassure your family. A vulgar Meyer is terribly good at lying.”
Emilia stared at him, gnawing her lips as if about to bite. And perhaps because of the image of a princess that had filled his head until just before, to Hadius, even such an image looked awfully beautiful. Like a roaring goddess of wrath.
“Someday I will make you pay. You will regret making me… like this.”
“Speak like that when I get on top. I’ll get even more aroused.”
“Do people know? That Meyer’s heir is a completely crazy pervert?”
The lips touching the nape of her neck slowly drew an arc. Realizing that he was smiling, Emilia lost her mind. Her arms, engulfed in rage, shoved him away, but again she was caught helplessly in the man’s grasp. Hadius pushed her staggering body and threw her on the bed. The messy naked body on the crumpled sheet aroused another sadistic desire. A bold hand turned the woman’s body upside down.
“Shall we try from the back? I heard it’s good.”
He was a man who spoke vulgar and obscene words in a very calm tone. The wet tongue licked slowly down the spine stiffened by the shock. Emilia buried her face in the sheet and tried not to moan. Descending from the lower back to the pubic bone, and further down, the body became terrified and blocked the entry.
“Did you forget? You made a deal with this crazy pervert bastard.”
The man ruthlessly spread her legs and licked her entrance without hesitation. Something dripped down his tongue and coated the man’s throat. Emilia twisted her back. There was no need to close her mouth. It was clear that her throat was tightly blocked by a painful shame that not even a moan could come out.
“…Do it quickly.”
Emilia pleaded again.
“End it, please!”
The moment a sharp cry echoed in the air, he ferociously thrust at the woman. It was several times harsher and more violent than the first time. Each time the advance and retreat were repeated, his belt buckle stung and stabbed her as if it were crushing her tender flesh. He didn’t even check if she was hurt or not. Hadius savagely thrust into her, pushing her senses to the limit. After the climax that finally came, he soiled her and defiled her, but it was he who fell into the abyss this time as well.
In the silent bedroom, a mixture of thin moans and rough breathing echoed for a long time like an afterglow. Hadius drove all the frail emotions that were roiling in his chest. He grabbed the woman who had been dazed by shock and forced her into the bathtub. Soft hands gently washed the bruised body. She tried to refuse, but she began to droop like a marionette with a broken string. The strength of the cramped leg loosened, and the man’s hand rubbed gently with the water. He had no intention of doing so, but Hadius couldn’t stand the erotic touch again. Eager hands suddenly raised her body, leaned it against the wall, and thrust into her again. The woman’s wet body was pressed under his frame, making a splashing, blasphemous noise.
Pleasure overwhelmed many things. Discomfort caused by an abnormal posture, anxiety that it may cause her pain, conscience, guilt… Hadius once more poured the essence of his pleasure on her white thighs, swallowing up his gruesome emotions.
Drip- drip- The sound of dripping water awakened his mind. Emilia, shivering thinly with her head turned, seemed to have turned into a real doll. He wrapped a large towel around her cold body and headed to the terrace while holding her.
It was a dark, moonless night. Thousands of stars that shone, the beautiful Milky Way, and even meteors that occasionally crossed the night sky. Looking at the stars with her as he wished, Hadius waited for his terrifyingly beating heart to calm down.
“Cold?”
That was all the sound she heard. Emilia did not answer and closed her eyes tightly to block her emotions.
A long and short time passed.
The sound of grass bugs carried in the night breeze, like beautiful music, and soaked her ears, hair, and chest. Early autumn nights are always extremely peaceful and beautiful. Emilia suddenly felt like crying.
Why? Why was the world still beautiful? Why was the man’s chest touching her back still warm…?
‘How could this be? How could it be after all he had done to me just now…?’ It was hard to breathe because of the misery that went beyond self-hatred. Emilia now knew well what lust was. It was exactly the same as the hard metal buckle that pierced her thigh before. She was well aware of the uncontrolled greed and impulse, how dangerous and futile it was.
It will be short. Like burning firewood, it will burn me madly and leave me into ashes.
Therefore, there is only one way left, and it’s nothing but to endure.
Until it gets completely fed up and falls on its own…

On a starry night in the Zelkova forest, Grozhang was meeting Kallia. The goal was simple. To have her family let her go without any doubt in order to bring the woman to the villa whenever his Master wished. There was nothing easier than that for those who lived in the world of trading like Meyer.
“You don’t have to worry in the slightest about your son. Mitch Bern has nothing to do with that group and will not face any investigation or punishment for it.”

Kallia placed her hand on her chest, unable to speak for a moment. Seeing her appear as if she was about to collapse on the spot, Grozhang swallowed up a boiling sense of guilt.
“I understand Miss Bern often stays with Laura Dilson to help with the farm. Our Master highly respects Miss Bern’s will and passion for self-reliance and promised not to interfere or intervene in any way. However, since Miss Bern is good at math and accounting, he would try to find a way to make her take private lessons so that she would not lose talent.”
Kallia exhaled a long breath as if she was so moved that she didn’t know what to do. Tears welled in her eyes as her face, with both hands together as if praying toward the sky, turned to Grozhang again.
“How could… he do something like this for us… I don’t know how to express this feeling… I’m just grateful.”
Kallia bowed her head once more, and Grozhang fell into a somewhat anxious mood. All he could do to pull himself together was deliver the words quickly and without hesitation.
“If there is one thing I would like to ask you, it is that all of this must be kept confidential. There is nothing good about getting caught up in gossip ahead of the breakup. I understand that the word ‘mistress’ is already circulating in Erndorf. I earnestly ask you to pay attention to your words and actions for the sake of Miss Bern’s precious reputation.”
[tl/n: how funny he’s worried she will be called a mistress while he’s f*cking her mercilessly… Hadius please die]
“As a matter of fact. Not only me but Mitch will also keep his mouth shut even if I have to sew it up. How can we, receiving so much help, say anything…? I would like it if you can convey my gratitude to the Young Master. I’m so grateful that I can put it into words… How should I ever repay this favor…”
Kallia’s shoulders trembled thinly as she bowed her head.
What would happen to that good-natured woman if she found out where, with whom, and what her daughter was doing now? Grozhang felt a cold sweat running down his back.
“You just have to trust the Master and follow him. That’s all the Young Master wants.”
After all, to those people, if it weren’t for the Young Master, they would have been on the streets long ago. Grozhang had no choice but to comfort himself like that.

The next day, when she woke up, the smell of food awakened Emilia. She squinted her eyes and turned her head toward the smell. There was a lot of food on the table.
“… Aren’t you hungry?”
The eyes that had been fixed on the table turned toward the window. A perfectly dressed Hadius Meyer was standing with his back to the windowsill. He was the one who fell asleep much earlier than her when he returned to his room from the terrace and put her in bed next to him. He slept so deeply that she wondered if he was dead. It was certainly dim dawn when she fell asleep without realizing it after barely pushing away the arms and legs that were clinging like thistles.
‘But when did he get up, set up food like that, and put on that casual expression?’
She slowly got up, scanning the colorful pottery and delicious food. Through the open shutters, bright sunlight poured into the room. It was a calm morning with birds chirping, but the room was filled with tension that was difficult to describe. Emilia had changed her clothes and sat down in the chair opposite him. She didn’t feel like eating at all. Still, a strange impulse made Emilia pick up a fork. She began to eat eagerly as if she was very hungry. The sound of clattering bowls and metal rubbing continued for a long time.
“Delicious,” Emilia deliberately muttered to herself. Unlike her, who was eating well, Hadius was unable to swallow a sip of water. Even after last night, his body was still hot and his head was full of lustful thoughts. Every time those perfect lips swallowed food, an erotic scene created out of nowhere roamed his mind wildly. The woman lying helplessly on the table. Her pitiful shaking shoulders, sweat-soaked back, legs spread helplessly…
“I guess that boy came in and out of here last night?”
Hadius had to think for a long time to understand the meaning of the sudden question. It meant if it was Pip who placed the food and even replaced the sheets.
“No, Laura Dilson.”
For the first time, a blush appeared on Emilia’s pale cheeks. Hadius fell into a strange mood once more. He couldn’t do anything about his uncontrollable feelings, so he had no choice but to push the chair and stand up.
“Every time you come here, that child will serve you.”
Hadius forced his hands into his pockets, and Emilia put down her fork for a moment.
“I don’t need an attendant.”
“She’s very excited. She said it was her lifelong wish to take care of a beautiful lady like a princess. She really likes you.”
“I don’t know what I’d do if Laura or anyone could see us together. I mean like this.”
Emilia raised the knife she was holding. The blade reflected the sunlight and shone sharply.
Did he read the grim meaning in the fiery clenched hand? Hadius hardened at that moment.
“…I’d rather do it with a gun. It’s much cleaner.”
“I like this more though? You can stab over and over again.”
Unable to believe that she had said that, Emilia began to babble whatever came to her mind, like a loose foal.
“I read it in a book, a lord who exercised the right of the first night too often was found dead, right? When I didn’t even know what the right of the first night was, I thought it was just that, but now I understand. It hurts that much. Like stabbing yourself to death.”
––
‘The Right Of The First Night’ (jus primae noctis more known as ‘Droit du seigneur’) was a supposed legal right in medieval Europe, allowing feudal lords to have sexual relations with subordinate ladies who were about to marry any subordinate in their fief, in particular, on the wedding nights of the women.
