"Now, answer the damned question Xan, what happened? Where the hell were you?"
Sky's eyes turned completely cold as he stared Xander down. He let off an imposing aura just looking at his damn boss and friend.
If any normal person was standing there with them now, he or she would have frozen from shock and the intense aura that followed the thick atmosphere.
But in Xander's case, he arched a brow at his friend as though he was not affected one bit by his weird outburst.
The silent stare he gave Sky said it all... It was as though he was saying 'Are you done?' To Sky.
Upon noticing the nonchalant attitude of his friend, the latter heaved a deep sigh and turned towards his seat.
"They lost track of you, Xander." Sky said. His fingers gently combed the wet hair as he sat down with all elegance.
His blue eyes shone with a dangerous glint as he stared blankly ahead.
He was at a loss for words. He didn't know what he would do with this friend of his.
He was supposed to protect him, but they both knew he didn't need protection, still he couldn't help but worry over him.
"Don't tell me you were scared, Sky?"
Sky let out a soft chuckle, closing his eyes and leaning back against the cushion.
By the time he opened them back, they went back to their normal shade of blue, emitting a kind of warmth that wasn't there prior to now.
"Why would I be?"
"Well, if I didn't know you better, I'd say you were." A playful smile danced at the corners of his lips as he spoke.
He knew his friend very well. After all, they grew up together.
"You wish. Go find yourself a girlfriend and you can worry about her being scared. As for me... I am far too busy worrying about Jenny to be scared about your well being."
"Ouch, that hurts, Sky." Xander clutched at his left chest with his right hand, pretending to have been hurt by Sky's words.
"I see Jay has rubbed off on you. That aside, don't deviate from the topic, where exactly were you? The guys lost track of you and informed me. We tried tracking you but nothing."
"That was their fault for losing track of me, not mine." Xander shrugged his shoulders in defence.
"That's not the point. Where exactly were you? Don't make me ask again, Xan. Did you even get the information?" Sky threatened, his soft gaze turning serious and he sat up looking Xander straight in the eyes.
"I saw her." Sky's brows creased at the mention of her. Her, who? He couldn't quite understand his friend and his mysterious ways of speaking sometimes. Just when he was about to ask this bossy friend of his, Xan beat him to it, sensing his predicament.
"Her, the girl from a day ago, the one who beat up that pickpocket," Xander explained.
"Oh, yeah, I remember. Wait a minute, you saw that wild girl in the club?"
"Yeah, and there was something off about the way she looked around. I watched her and followed after her and my hunch was right, she went snooping around."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a minute. Xander, you mean to tell me that you got lost just because of a girl," Sky said in a high pitch with both hands raised in front of his face.
His brows creased further and his frown deepened. He couldn't believe his friend. He was against him going to the party in person in the first place, now he went and got sidetracked because of a girl!
Sky felt like he should just faint. Looking at Xander now, there was no wonder why no one could fathom what was on his mind. His thinking was just out of this world.
"Not just any girl, Sky. Long story short, she got chased by the owner's men and ended up with some hooligans who wanted to have some fun with her."
"Oh, let me guess. That's where you come in acting as her knight in shining armour, right?" Sky asked. His once furrowed brows now straightened as he listened to his friend's tale with interest.
He was so interested in what his friend did. It was not like his friend to bother with people's affairs and now, it seemed that this wild fish had caught the almighty Xander's attention and Sky was more than interested in getting the details even at the detriment of his anger just now.
"Please tell me that after everything you at least collected her number." Sky seemed to have gotten way ahead of himself. He was interested in how Xander beat up the guys like a knight, rather he was interested in knowing if she threw herself on him in fright and all, playing coy.
Although part of him knew that was not going to be the case as the girl in question didn't look like one of those weak girls, still, he still itched to hear her reaction.
"That little tigress actually ran and left me each time I saved her, thrice at that."
"WHAT!!"
"Hmm, that was not the worst part, she went ahead and kneed me in the groin."
