Jade's mind went blank at how passionately he kissed her even without her parting her lips to welcome his tongue.
His kiss had somehow made her mind go blank. However before it completely took her mind away, she stepped hard on his foot, pressing her heels on his shoe.
The pain coursed through Xander, making the latter to release her from his hold. Before Jade could jubilate at her victory, Xander caught hold of her hands and pulled her close to him. This time there was not even a single space between them and he pressed his face closer to hers.
He was determined to make her his and whether it was that or the fact that she resisted, it only made her feel so irresistible to him and he wanted her the more.
She was already tired of his squirms. Did he think he owned her mouth that he could just kiss her as he wished?
She needed to teach this mister name-giver a lesson.
Without warning, Jade lifted her knee, ready to repeat the same treatment she had done before but before her knees could get to their destination, Xander moved fast.
What she knew was that she was spinning till she spun right back into his arms and he made her fall backwards, like a couple who just ended a dance in a grand style.
Jade was left speechless by his actions and found herself at his mercy.
She shook her head to clear her eyes of the spinning and resumed her attack but as soon as her legs raised into the air a bit, Xander spoke for the first time since he kissed her.
"Don't you dare!"
"Try kissing me one more time and see if I won't dare."
He could see the fire of rage burning in her hazel green eyes and his smile only broadened. Rather than pushing him away, she was making it difficult for him to leave her be.
She only became more irresistible in his eyes and just like a crack to a crack person, he wanted more and needed more of her.
He felt intoxicated by the kiss and wanted to kiss her so he could taste her lips more. He thought if her lips could taste so divine like that, how much more when he could get a taste of her mouth.
He knew he would be drowned forever and would not be able to stop. He knew within him that kissing her would be a bottle of favourite champagne he would not want to let go of or stop drinking.
Nevertheless, she saw the look in his eyes suddenly change to that of a predatory one as though he could eat her up any minute from then. It was as though he was fighting within himself for something and she could not tell what it was. It was better to be away than to stay close.
"Hey let me go!" Jade hollered into his face to bring him from whatever stupor he found himself in.
Xander blinked for a second and his eyes reverted back to the soulful blue ones of before. His lips tugged upward into a side smirk before turning serious.
"Are you sure you want me to let you go?" Xander raised his brows up and averted his gaze to the ground below her.
Understanding what he meant, Jade instantly change her words. "Not letting me fall you, dummy, pull me up and let me be."
"But I do not want to."
"Why?"
"You would be a bad girl and run away again if I do."
Just listening to him whine Jade couldn't help but like his behaviour to that of a child who was scared his mother would leave him if he let go.
"Just be mine and I would let you go," Xander said. 'For now.' He completed the last part of his sentence in his mind while putting on a charming smile that did not even get up to his cheeks.
"Fine!" Jade stated sharply.
Xander's eyes widened. He was not expecting her to agree so easily and became very happy.
"You mean it?"
"Yes. Now let me go, I feel uncomfortable already."
Stupidly he believed her and brought her back up. "Finally, I have you."
"You wish," Jade said and moved backwards, keeping some distance between both of them.
"Hey, you said…"
"It is your word against mine. No one can bear witness to what I said and didn't say. It was your fault for trusting blindly and not mine."
Xander was about taking a step forward and Jade quickly took a couple more backwards with her left hand stretched out in front of her to stop him.
"Not another step forward or I would not hesitate to end your lineage right here and now," she threatened.
"You already said you are mine. Wouldn't that mean, if you end my lineage, you would be ending yours? Do not blame me if in the future I cannot give you little kids."
"Hey, hey, hold on mister. Who said anything about marriage. Tsk you are getting way ahead of yourself."
As they spoke, she brought out her phone and called the cab driver that dropped her. "You can come. I am ready."
The call went dead and she opened her bag and kept her phone back in while maintaining eye contact with Xander.
"You are mine."
"Can you stop saying that please?"
"No. You already agreed. You gave your word."
"I did no such thing," Jade denied. "I just said. I never gave my word. Besides, why would I want to be with someone like you."
"You would find I am loveable."
Jade scoffed at him. "Whoever taught you how to woo a woman?"
"Self-taught," Xander answered proudly.
"I see, no wonder you are behaving like a lunatic."
"I would be a lunatic and worse for you, baby."
'Okay, this guy sure is sick.' Jade concluded in her mind.
