Chapter 10: Omake: A Kitsune’s Daily

Entry 2008-9-9.

Okaa-sama said that I should write something on this sometime so I try...

Hmm... I did what she ask though wrote what I thought out...

Maybe I should write about the birthday? ...Well let's do it!

There are a lot of strangers and I feel weird when they look at me like I'm some kind of exotic animal.

I don't like it when some of them look at me like that or even with disgust too... why?

...Am I ugly? Most of them just said something to Okaa-sama and leave not really coming for me.

I don't understand, why bother in the first place? Hmm... some of them are the Kami too.

Amaterasu-Obaa-sama is too busy to come this year... I'm sad... she always takes care of me when Okaa-sama greets the guest.

The same for Inari-sama and they both just happen to be busy today Hah... It can't behelp as they both are leaders of Amatsukami and Kunitsukami.

At least Shuna-Obaa-sama comes and gives me a Kitsune plushie again. I love them thank you very much Shuna-Obaa-sama!

Also, the food is good there are a lot of tofu dishes!

Entry 2010-9-9.

It's my birthday again this year there are fewer strangers and more of the inner circle thanks to the Ayakashi outbreak in Tokyo a couple of months ago.

So the atmosphere of this small party is very comfortable and peaceful. I like it more than any of the formal parties we did each year, to be honest.

The food is also cooked by Okaa-sama! as there aren't any guests aside from those that are close to us.

Inari-sama also came, but in an old man form for some reason... She said about running away from her editor or something.

Anyway, She gives me a sword/Nodachi called Kogitsunemaru as a present. She thought that it was time for me to learn to defend myself properly.

I love it! as It's a very beautiful sword. Okaa-sama also gonna teach me how to use it too I look forward to that!

Shuna-Obaa-sama came along with the nekoshou sibling, Kuroka-chan, and Shirone-chan.

She gives me a black fox plushie or a Yako plushie to be specific as to why she said I already have Zenko and normal Kitsune so a Yako to complete the set.

Shuna-Obaa-sama has been giving me all kinds of fox plushies every birthday I have no idea why but I love it all nonetheless and I'll look forward to the next year too!

Kuroka-chan gives me a choker with a small bell... She wants me to wear it in my fox form... Am I a pet Kuroka-chan? Her teasing habit is something... I don't hate it though.

Shirone-chan gives me a box full of snacks. Truly Shirone-chan-like so I hug her as thanks.

I'm glad both of them become lively now unlike when I first met them.

Okaa-sama gives me another sword this time it's Tachi called Masamune she said that she used it when she was young as it was given to her by her mother and so on.

It's pretty much our family heirloom, I love that. She also gonna teach me two sword styles as well in case I wanna use them together with Kogitsunemaru.

Finally, Amaterasu-Obaa-sama give me a pair of bracelets in Silver and gold. It was made by her and Inari-sama together she said that I should give the silver one to my future mate if I ever found one.

I thanked her politely along with Inari-sama.

But a mate? Hmm... I don't know about that maybe I find one in the future eventually.

Kuroka-chan seems to obsess with finding one for a while now, but Shuna-Obaa-sama tells her to be patient or she will send her to Magari-Obaa-sama.

For now, I really enjoy this birthday!

Entry 2013-8-12.

This month so far has been nothing short of a troublesome situation, the Ayakashi start to pop up everywhere to the point that even Okaa-sama has to go cleanse them on the field by herself.

I also accompany her with the Tengu guard to help her too, but she still did not let me go exterminate them alone even though I reach a general grade for a couple of months now... Hah...

Dearest Mother even Kuroka-chan and Shirone-chan go hunt on their own with Shuna-Obaa-sama's permission why can't I do it too?

Plus Shirone-chan is only 12 too mother! I'm almost full 16 it's just 3 weeks away!

I get it that I'm technically a princess, but not for long though as the Nura clan gonna take over rulership of the western youkai back soon anyway...

Inari-Okaa-sama can you take me out sometime? She is technically my mother too, right?

Entry 2013-8-17.

It's been a while since I write this because after last time Ura-Kyoto got into a really big event!

There's a gloomy and a bit scary kyubi called Hagoromo-gitsune who came to destroy the Leyline ward of Kyoto that Okaa-sama has been protecting.

Also, she brings a really big army of Ayakashi with her too, thank the kami both sides of Kyoto is home to many Youkai and the Onmyoji clans including the most powerful two house.

The Tsuchimikado and the Ashiya.

Thanks to all of them the damage to civilians is not much as we all coordinate the evacuation in time.

I'm very nervous as it is the first time I'm leading the unit combining with Youkai and Onmyoji to fight too.

Glad it going well as I'm not fighting in the main frontline like Okaa-sama and the clan's head.

The Nura clan comes to assist with their pandemonium led by Rikuo-nii-sama and Rihon-Ojii-sama.

Now that I think about it, I did not see Rikuo-nii-sama and Tsurara-nee-sama for a while now.

Those two still getting along really well huh... Not that I'm jealous or anything since the Nura clan curse finally rifts after they defeat Nue and Hagoromo.

So Rikuo-nii-sama probably be able to marry Tsurara-nee-sama without a problem now.

1/3 Nurarihyon and a Yuki-onna... must be nice...

Anyway, onto the serious issue, we have even though we win against Hagoromo and Nue their army still occupied half of Kyoto.

Most of our forces are not at 80% ready as we've been fighting nonstop till today when we finally defeat the ring leader.

Well, Douman-Jii-sama did because he wanna solve a millennia-old rivalry. He also already left the command of the Ashiya to his descendant hmm.... her name is Ashiya Akari right?

She has short raven hair and red eyes like all Ashiya but she wears a big round glass while having her hair cover her right eye for some reason... Anyway, she is around 18-19 I think? I remember she said that she was in 1st year of university.

She is also a marshall-grade individual mastering Ashiya's style of onmyoudo and senjutsu.

Her antics on the battlefield are quite something... She drinks a beer while fighting with onmyoudo and firing her pistol. No one minds it as she is the one who destroys all the Ayakashi army in the north by herself.

The Ashiya's heiress everyone... No wonder Douman-Jii-sama is boastful about his clan.

Eccentric yet strong contrary to Tsuchimikado that all about discipline, Yakuza, and the army no surprise why they have never gotten along for thousand years.

Finally! I never thought this day would come so soon!

I found him! I found him! Ayaaya!

My mate! He is Yuuki-jii-sama and Yuuka-Obaa-sama's son!

And more importantly, he is a Yako with Amatsukami's essence in contrast to me a Zenko with Kunitsukami's essence!

Is this fate? or is it arranged by Inari-Okaa-sama? Forget it! Arigatou Inari-Okaa-sama! I finally found him!

He's a Tsuchimikado but he using Amatsuki following Yuuka-Obaa-sama as a familyname instead.

I guess it's to lessen conflict in Tsuchimikado as he is also a general grade being at 16 too! like Yakou.

Being a Tsuchimikado is a plus for us kitsune as they also descend from Abe no Seimei the Yako when he was still sane.

Oh, I forgot to mention his name! It is Amatsuki Ayaka, quite a feminine name but from seeing his mutate trait I get that it fits well...

Talk about his youkai form... why is it that big!? those breasts! Is the miasma made Yako akin to succubus? He is the same age as me though just a couple of months older!

Is being born from the earth take away that aspect? Or the truth is Inari-Okaa-sama's true form is-

Also, he has the smell of a female dragon on him, but according to Yuuki-jii-sama, Ayaaya is still single.

Entry 2013-8-19.

Today was so full of events.

From what I and Ayaaya did in the morning then the date, the Shikigami contract ceremony, and the end of the war with Ayaaya fighting a corrupted dragonking with Harutora-nii-sama.

Hah... truly an eventful day also a wonderful day minus the dragonking part... Tenryu-Obaa-sama why do you have to get corrupted... Maa... whatever.

Ayaaya kiss me in the morning... that's my first kiss! It was nice... Ayaaya seems to feel guilty about it because he did it on impulse. I can see that on his face in the shower.

After that, I report our activity to Okaa-sama! and she sighs at my antics but also sternly warns me about choosing Ayaaya without knowing each other well first.

I got it we did not know about Ayaaya that well unlike his parent whom we meet every couple of months due to Yuuka-Obaa-sama being Hime-Miko of Tsukuyomi and Yuuki-jii-sama being the vice-leader of Tsuchimikado.

That is why I did not hesitate much when it come to approaching Ayaaya. My instinct and sense also tell me that he is not a bad person like those that come to my public birthday party.

Then we both went on a date at Higashiyama ward, human Kyoto.

Ayaaya's human side is calm and silence type contrary to his Yako side which almost feels like Kuroka-chan, full of energy and love teasing people with their bodies.

He seems very happy with just handhold me while walking around the place we do have some small talk in the meantime that tells me what he likes and how is it in Kuoh his hometown and et cetera.

I'm glad that he has things we like in common like the sound of river flow or a leaf falling in autumn, the sound of the cicadas, or foodstuffs like a pure bitter Matcha, or strawberry shortcake.

Talking about the food he said that he can cook and bake and also invite me to try it out sometimes if I have a chance to visit him at his home. I would love to!

One thing bucking me about Ayaaya. He seems always sad about something and tries to hide it by patting me on the head or hugging me or ruffing my tail. But his eyes that look into the distance remind me of those that lost someone or something important.

Combine it with his yako antics It's like what I saw in Satan Serafall Leviathan as they both can't seem to get over their issue.

There should not be any for him as far as I hear from his parent. ...I hope he will tell me about it one day.

After the date, I confess to him about my origin and why I want him as my mate. I was very anxious about his answer by telling him the truth because I need to know whether he can accept me or not.

Not everyone would want someone who pops from the ground like me as this is not the creation era anymore.

Most people fear being like me. I could feel it from the Amatsukami that's not Amaterasu-Obaa-sama and her family. Even a disgust from the youkai that know about my origin.

It was not pleasant at all... I don't like them, those eyes that look at me with contempt and fear... And the blatant lie in their voice when speaking about me.

I... hate it.

Anyway, Ayaaya is not like those people he accepted me! without those eyes and eerie feelings. But with a gentle smile and eyes that are full of commitment!

I believe that only Ayaaya can give me the love I want from a mate.

Oh! right, He has the essence of Tsukuyomi after I tell him about mine. Amatsuki bloodline must have descended from Tsukuyomi directly for sure, unlike from a branch line that we thought.

And his male form actually have can have fox ears and tails at night too! I love his black kitsune with seven tails form and also those sapphire blue eyes that shine like a blue moon, I like them especially when he looks at me with adoration.

Did I really fall for him this much? After spending a short time together is it bad? I don't know but I won't let him go.

After we clear up for each other we go back and report to our parents. Okaa-sama asks me if I'm sure about a contract with Ayaaya as his shikigami via the contract of marriage.

I'm sure 100% Okaa-sama! Don't worry about me too much! If you insist about Ayaaya is bad as you think you can be with me too you know? I'm technically your clone after all if Ayaaya is right for me then so are you Okaa-sama...

I mean I insist on being only his first wife in the contract for a reason... Not only about the female dragon I smell on him Okaa-sama but for you and Kuroka-chan too.

Ayaaya ticks all her box so far with being strong and attractive and a bonus for him being a half-youkai half-Amatsukami too. Hah... she gonna be bothersome if I'm not let her in on Ayaaya too.

Shirone-chan... I have no idea about her with this stuff. I got a feeling she gonna go for the same person as Kuroka-chan because those two never separated.

Fine... two more Shikigami contracts for Ayaaya probably benefit him too as an onmyoji.

Okaa-sama can't due to her being Hime-Miko for Amaterasu. Shame... I would love to have a spirit link with her too.

After the contract ceremony is done I give him the bracelet I got from Amaterasu-Obaa-sama three years ago. After we both inject our spirit's energy into it, it made out spirit link even stronger and tell us our location in real-time.

I like it thank you very much Ameterasu-Obaa-sama, Inari-Okaa-sama!

The fight I'm not gonna go deep about it we purify the Seiryu and retake Arashiyama then Tenryu-obaa-sama appears corrupted and Ayaaya stays to fight her while I can only runaway due to outclass and lag of spirit energy.

I hate it when I can't fight by his side... But Ayaaya reveals that he is actually a marshall grade, not just a general grade he lets people know.

Guess we Kitsune is like that no matter what huh? Always have to hide something I wonder if Okaa-sama has the urge to push Ayaaya down when skinship with him like I did in the morning?

Anyway, Tenryu-Obaa-sama got defeated with the help of Harutora-nii-sama. Ayaaya's appearance when using Kami's authority feels different from his usual playfulness in Yako form this one feels like Ashiya Akari and those red bloodthirsty eyes almost make me think that's not Ayaaya but Ashiya Akari.

I hug him a bit before deciding to go back on my own due to the energy I use while waiting for the fight with Tenryu to finish as I stress too much about it. It can't be helped I worry about Ayaaya! even if our spirit link tells me that he's fine even from the attack he receives.

Very nerve-wracking experience... Gonna admit one thing the sky when he uses the authority is very beautiful... The stars come alive and fall upon Tenryu-Obaa-sama like a shooting star.

But the damage from the fight is truly devastating as the beauty of the west side of Kyoto reduces to rubble... I hope there's an Onmyodo spell for fixing those damages or else we gonna need to hire a wizard to fix all those up.

After that, I met Shuna-obaa-sama and the Nekoshou sibling at the teleport relay I greet them and exchange some words and then come back here and start writing this page.

Hah... Truly an eventful day.

I wake up hearing the murmur of someone so I look around the room and find nothing.

" ?? " 'where?'

Then I realize it was Ayaaya sleeping beside me quivering from something.

" Emily..."

...He murmurs the name Emily but not in a pleasant way for sure as I can see his tears pour down his cheek.

...Is this the reason behind the sadness I see yesterday? Who is Emily to Ayaaya? For him to be like this...

I don't like that she let Ayaaya becomes like this so I move to the top of his chest and lay there while covering him with my tail.

" I let you... go... "

His breathing stabilizes and he starts to sleep peacefully again after he said that. Hah... even someone like you also has this side too huh? Ayaaya. I hope we can overcome this together in the future for both of us.

But for now, I will make sure you can sleep peacefully beside me Ayaaya as your wife I can't let your past whatever haunt you like this!

" Hnn... Ayaaya... don't worry I'm always here for you... So look at me from now on okay!"

I touch his face then peck him on the lip then hold him closer and sleep on top of him again so he won't have nightmares as the warmth of my body will ensure it goes away.
