Alex released a low sight, his golden eyes watching over the party as it progressed. It was in his honor, or at least in the honor of his political marriage.

He watched as people danced, ate, or chatted amongst themselves, a firm squeeze on his hand brought his eyes from the party to the woman next to him, only a brief moment of distaste as he saw her. She was by no means ugly, in fact, she was beautiful. Flowing raven locks, and beautiful green eyes...

No, it was her personality that made Alex so against this woman

No, it was her personality that made Alex so against this woman.

The grip tightened further as she smiled at him, a forceful smile as she noticed his momentary look of distaste.

''Enjoying the festivities ?????????????????'' Her tone was like venom against his ears.

''Don't kid yourself, Trollop, I shall enjoy tonight's end when I return to my room.''

She began to speak, but Alexander spoke with force, a magic air leaving his words as it seemed to create pressure against her, the smile she wore for the others faltering only a moment.

''Alone.''

With that he turned away from her, Tera truly wasn't a bad woman to be wed to... If only her personality didn't make it smell like he was chatting with pig shit.

It was then a Golden shield suddenly appeared above Alexander's head, his eyes shining brightly as his head was thrown back into the seat of his chair's cushion, magic pulsing from him.

There were gasps throughout the crowd as they watched, a few meters away a large man stood along with a beautiful woman, the two being Alexander's parents.

''A calling? Now of all times?!'' His mother hissed to his father.

''Worry not my dear, he can ignore the calling, with his power as the new head, nothing can hold him.''

There were hushed whispers, many wondering who could be able to call upon such a contract, by the symbol and just how bright it was, it must've been extremely powerful magic, most likely even sacrificial magic.

Suddenly Alexander's eyes returned to normal, their glow dimming slowly as he suddenly stood, throwing Tera from his arm as he stormed forward and down the steps of the raised throne area.

''Alexander DuMonde! Where do you think you are going, boy?!.''

Alex turned, his wand appeared within his hand, fifteen inches and made of a dark almost ethereal wood. Smoke fell from it as its tip lit up as a shield raised suddenly, clashing against what looked to be a freezing curse.

Alex's golden eyes were filled with rage, tears streaming from his golden eyes as he roared, his voice leaking magic as it clashed around him, the air sparking with power.

''Do NOT call me a boy again Father, and for you Mother... You cast a curse at me again, and I will strip you, here and now before the court. First your magic, then your skin.''

The entirety of the court breathed in deeply as they all stepped back from the chaotic magic.

Alexander had viewed who he was to protect, a boy named Harry Potter, he lived in England under an abusive family, he only caught glimpses, enough to understand who he must protect, but what he had seen sent him into a rage.

Even without the bonds that made a Guardian and their Charge closer, no one deserved to live like that.

''I have been called to become a Guardian, any who stop me will die, here and now. You will not take this from me... You will not be the cause for that child to experience more suffering.''

Alex held his wand aloft towards his parents. His eyes swept across the court, searching the eyes of each individual present, only finding solace in the eyes of an old man watching from across the room, his Grandfather.

The old man had a smile across his old features, tears falling from his silver eyes. His Grandson was free, free from this accursed family... He had a call to answer.

Alexander smiled only briefly to his Grandfather, getting a soft nod in return before he turned.

Suddenly the air twisted around him before it was like a vortex towards his navel, without sound Alex suddenly apparated away.

With a twist of magic did he appear once more in his room, his wand waving over his room as he began to pack what he needed. All items he needed flew into the expanded trunk waiting open.

He walked across his lavish bedroom, waving a hand as the large bookshelf suddenly began to open.

Within this opened section looked to be a treasure vault, glittering golds and jewels littered the place as he sent them to his trunk as well.

Alex pulled necklaces and jewelry in as well, each magical in its own right or way. After a few moments, the only remaining item was the many chests and stands which held everything. Once he finished emptying his little treasury his wand began to glow at the end.

He began to carve magical runes into the air, through the treasury room and his room itself, items starting to burn as he began to destroy the very room he stayed in. Walking back into his room as it burned, his trunk and himself untouched by the green flames slowly spreading he pulled his wand up, holstering it under his arm in the shoulder holster as the trunk lifted with the last bit of magic.

The trunk shrunk down before it changed into a ring, pulling it on he called a few other rings from his trunk ring.

These rings despite the beauty and masterful craftsmanship that went into them were all simple bands.

He only put three on, for now, magical suppressant which would make it so he didn't need to worry about keeping his magic in tone himself.

A magical anti-trace ring, which as it was called made it so he couldn't be traced, at least not by the magic of his family.

The third was an Anti-scrying ring, to further avoid interaction or involvement of his family, if they got in his way it was simple to kill them, but they WERE family, even if barely.

Once he got everything ready he once more apparated away.

He suddenly appeared directly into a small room, with two couches on opposite sides of a table. Alexander wasted no time as he lowered into one of the couches, soon someone came in. A goblin huffed from effort as he quickly walked over.

''Welcome to Gringotts Alex, I was only now warned of your arrival, or I would've brought snacks.''

''It's fine Groknot.'' Alexander took a slow deep breath as he relaxed, the goblin was one he personally knew, one of the many that helped handle his businesses, his vineyard, and the many wineries and breweries he owned.

''I only now knew I was going to be coming myself, so I am sorry for the sudden arrival.''

''Think nothing of it! You know you're welcome, even unannounced whenever Alex, a shame though. You just missed my wife.'' The goblin shifted as he pulled himself onto the couch with a chuckle.

It may be strange for others to see the usual, rage-filled goblins acting so friendly to someone like Alex, but he did three things for them that made him practically family.

1: He paid them a lot.

2: He was kind, without the racism of his peers, and was friendly to deal with.

3: His wine was some of the best that could be purchased, despite his own age only being 18. Many sought his wines out, and he gave it to them for practically free.

Alex smiled softly as he watched his friend. ''Well, I will be staying in London for a period of time, so I'll visit soon.''

The goblin's eyebrows rose, his eyes lighting up with excitement. ''Truly? Happy days! Maybe you can once more spar my son, he has been training his sword hard since you last fought, it would be an honor to one more witness how you dance with a blade.''

''Of course... Groknot I have come to ask a few favors, all with proper pay of course.''

The magic word is payment. Groknot rubbed his hands together with a greedy grin. ''Another venture Alex? Who's the sorry chap we're stealing from tonight?''

Alex laughed, shaking his head. ''Not today Groknot, I am here to ask you to set me up vault here in London, as well as to get me a proper place to stay while I am here... A small villa will do, something with a view, within a distance of plenty of things to do, room for 10 or more would be appreciated, but since I understand it's sudden, one for two would also be fine.''

Alex rubbed a hand over the ring, a string of magic following before a few bags appeared along with some paperwork. ''Also, would you be kind enough to send an Owl to Hogwarts with my administration papers? I will be attending their school.''

The Goblin nodded along as he spoke, everything he was asking was easy, and when he saw the bags he was going to refuse the payment before he stopped. His brows scrunching in confusion. ''Hogwarts... But what would you want in a... Wait... Alexander, have you experienced a calling?''

Alex smiled, a knot of pride in his chest that was hard to hold back as he nodded.

''Oh, Alex!'' The Goblin jumped from the couch, moving around the table as he opened his arms to Alex, pulling him into a tight hug. ''That is... That is wonderful to hear... I am glad you are able to get away from that family now... Can I ask for the details?''

They held the hug for a few moments longer before it was broken by Groknot.

''A Magicial Guardian... A powerful one as well, for a boy named Harry Potter. Do you have any information on him?''

Groknot froze on the spot, his eyes wide before he quickly went out of the room.

Alex watched with his brows raised in question before not moments later the goblin burst back into the room with an armful of papers, thrusting them onto the table as he grabbed the bags and paperwork from before.

''Look through that Alex... I will leave you alone for a bit while I go do as you've requested, and please... Do not break my furniture, it's genuine Mahogany...''

The Goblin quickly left, leaving Alexander to begin reading through all the papers he was given.

The further he read, the more pissed he got, and by the end of it, he didn't break the furniture, but the room did start to crumble around him right before he vanished, too angered to control as with his apparition was a thunderous crack.
