Chapter 35: Chapter 35 – New Apartment and Roommates

The compensation given by Vega to me because of that accident was more than I thought.

As a result, buying a slightly high-end apartment wasn’t a problem. Magical Girls were unexpectedly rich, but most of them couldn’t even make money because they couldn’t even kill Garmr alone.

If I somehow managed to exterminate all Beasts in Japan, maybe living a luxurious life for the rest of my life wouldn’t be a dream. That was if I still had a lifespan, something that I didn’t bother to think of for now.

I helped Aru to get all her belongings from her room, including her computer, and returned to Shibuya by flying.

Our new apartment was located near my school in Shibuya, in an apartment complex at the skirt of the Ward. The public order around the apartment complex was also good, and more importantly, it was close to the Teleportation Waypoint.

That meant living in my new apartment would cause Haruhi no inconvenience. The ruined Waypoint in Shinjuku was also still repaired by people from Raylight. Haruhi was forced to move either way if she wanted to still continue her activities to help people as Magiya Blaze.

After a few minutes of flying and reverting Aru back to her degenerate self, we arrived at my new apartment. It was 40-floors high with a good view of the surroundings.

The Waypoint was located right behind this apartment, on a roof of a 5-floor high apartment. It wasn’t visible from my room, which was located on the top floor due to Magic, but I could feel a small flow of Mana coming from that rooftop.

I landed on the roof and walked down to the 40th floor, entering room number 405 after transforming back to my normal self.

“Yahoo, I am back!” I cheerfully greeted my other roommate, Haruhi, as I walked inside the big living room. She was sitting on a sofa, reading a novel silently. At the same time, I could see Titan sleeping in the cat house I bought for him near the window, basking in the sunlight.

The living room was big, with two couches and two sofas surrounding a glass table in the middle with the kitchen connected to the living room on the right. The bedrooms were located on the left and second floors, 2 on the first floor and 2 on the second floor.

Each bedroom had a private bathroom and toilet installed, but there was also a big tub on the first floor near the kitchen.

Haruhi turned to us as we walked to the couch, frowning as I disturbed her reading session and then sighing.

“Welcome back. You’re fast. I'll take the left bedroom on the first floor if you don’t mind.”

“Don’t worry. I will stay on the one with the glass window on the second floor with Aru. We just need one bedroom, right?” I looked at Aru and winked. “We can do anything we want there,” I whispered to her, glancing at Haruhi, who glared at me.

“Huh?” Hearing my whisper, Aru’s face flushed red. She was the type to attack, not to get attacked. I had never tried to attack her directly like this, so this was quite a fresh sight.

“Y-Yeah. We only need one bedroom. Asa also said the bed is big, so it will be enough for us! I mean I will spend most of my night in front of the computer, and I am small, so don’t worry about it, Blaze!”

“That’s suspicious… Also, my name is Yamanaka Haruhi. Please don’t call me Blaze when I am not in my Magical Girl form.”

“Sure. Nice to meet you, Haruhi! You can call me Aru or Professor, whatever suits you.”

Haruhi had gotten so used to my antics that she just ignored what I had said and continued on to talk with Aru. Anyway, it was only 11 AM, and we had a lot of time to spend. We would spend a lot of time together now, so I would like Aru and Haruhi to get a bit closer too.

Not to mention, I needed to set Aru’s equipment in our room too. So I got up from the couch and stretched my arms.

“Well, I need to set up my room, so I’ll take my leave here. You girls have fun talking.” I waved my hand at them and went upstairs through the stairs located in the corner of the room, near the bedroom on the first floor.

I entered the bedroom on the right and smiled.

This place will be Aru and my love nest!

A big bed on the side of a glass wall, getting a direct evening light from the outside as the glass faced the west. Then there was a small round table and two chairs beside the bed. Two closets, black and white, to store our clothes.

The bathroom of this room was also bigger than the others as this was the master room. We had a bathtub that could easily fit two girls, so I could take a bath together with Aru. Then there was an open space in the corner, and I began to set Aru’s computer in this place.

“Let’s begin the work.”

It was so awkward! I thought as I glanced at Magiya Blaze or Yamanaka Haruhi as she introduced herself to me.

She returned to read her novel as soon as Asa left us. We were going to live together; wasn’t there something to say besides introducing ourselves?

I understood if she didn’t have something to talk to me about, but I had a lot of things to say to her. I was one of her fans, a diehard one. Because of that, I was so nervous that I couldn’t say anything!

What should I do? I can talk with Asa in her Magical Girl form with no problem because it’s her, but I can’t say anything since this morning because I unexpectedly saw Magiya Blaze transferred to our class!

But if I don’t say anything, won’t she think that I am a weird girl? I mean, I am weird, but I don’t want her to think like that.

“Aru?”

“Yes?!”

I was so lost in thought that I didn’t notice Haruhi calling out to me.

“Thank god. You suddenly went silent and looked down on the floor. Is there something wrong?” Haruhi asked worriedly, looking at me with a kind gaze. It was so different from when she looked at Asa. This… was a gaze that I recognized coming from Blaze.

At that moment, I understood.

Ah, as expected. Asa is special even among Magical Girls.

For some reason, my friend had managed to melt everyone’s heart. She distanced herself from the others besides me, but I knew that everyone in our school liked her.

Even Magiya Blaze. She somehow managed to get into her heart and made her special. I smiled at Haruhi. All my worries were gone, I think. I noticed that I didn’t need to act differently from my usual self in front of Haruhi. I just needed to act as if I didn’t have her panties in my safe!

If she could accept Asa just the way she was, she surely could accept my real, degenerate self.

“Hahaha, I was just lost in my thoughts. Can I call you Haruhi?”

“Of course. I just called you Aru, so we’re even, fufufu.” Haruhi chuckled cutely.

Ah, she’s cute. Even when she’s not in her Magical Girl form, she’s still a cute girl. I know why Asa likes her now.

The things that Asa liked were similar to things I liked. We both loved cute girls, and that was why we could bond with each other easily. We quickly became best friends after we met a year ago, hanging out with each other and joking. Then we crossed the line that night.

Thinking about that made my face hot. I couldn’t help but think how stupid I was, but I still enjoyed it with Asa.

W-Wait. Now that we share a bedroom, won’t something like that happen again in the future?! Is that her goal all along?!

After I calmed down, I just realized that. Why did I agree to share a room with her? There were still 2 empty rooms! But… Maybe deep inside, I still wanted to do the deed with Asa again.

“What’s wrong, Aru? You went silent, and now your face is red. Do you catch a cold?” Haruhi’s worried voice reached my ear, and I turned to her while waving my hands repeatedly.

“N-No. There is nothing to worry about.”

In the end, I still got flustered all over and couldn’t talk properly with Haruhi until Asa returned.
