“Are you sure we can trust her with this, Boss?”
“Stop calling me Boss.” I replied to Akari as I turned to her. She had been too engrossed in her role. “Also, we can trust Blaze. She is one of the people I trust the most.”
“Hmm…” Akari hummed as she worked to create an illusion of Blaze.
After I explained my plan, Blaze took off and went to the nearby Teleportation Waypoint to return to Raylight. I had asked her to return temporarily because the situation would be a bit dangerous shortly, and I didn’t want to involve her.
Because of Commander Amamiya’s instruction, she followed my plan, although grumbling a little. Only when I promised there would be no civilian casualties would she agree to return to Raylight.
Of course, I didn’t mention there wouldn’t be a casualty like the buildings and riches, but she was satisfied, so it was enough.
“Then are we going to enter the second phase, Asa?” My partner in crime asked with a voice mixed with a bit of excitement.
The first phase of my plan was to threaten the normal population and Magical Girls. That was already done. It was time for us to proceed to the second phase.
I stood up and looked at Blaze, which was made by Akari’s illusion. It wasn’t any different than the original, and I could assure no one would be able to see it through unless that someone was at my level.
“Umu, this is good.” I nodded, satisfied. “As you said, let’s proceed to the second phase.”
“Yay!” Akari exclaimed excitedly as she jumped around the edge of the Kyoto Tower. That was dangerous, you know? You should be careful. “Then, can I have the honor to?!” She asked with glistening eyes that her mask couldn’t hide.
I put on my mask again and nodded. “Sure, do it.”
“See you later!”
With that, Akari flew away toward the direction of a mountain that could be seen from this place after creating an illusion of herself sitting while swinging her legs beside me.
If the first phase was to spread uneasiness and chaos, the second phase created distractions. We did this so the balloons wouldn’t be found easily. Well, not like they would be found, but… this would turn out interesting.
I looked around the area and noticed some flying drones. There were three in total, and the camera mounted on them were connected to my phone, which I used to Livestream to the Magical Girl forum.
Talking about it, I took out my phone to open the forum while waiting for Akari. The stream was pinned at the top of the page, and Aru did a great job explaining that the forum had been breached.
Many people commented even though it was still afternoon, the time when they usually slept, and I noticed some foreigners also commented in the comment section. It seemed like the plan was going on nicely.
Some people also began to upload images of the balloons in New York City. Aru didn’t filter those, as she acted like a hacker had breached the site. She took no responsibility for them. I felt for her as I knew the government would contact her without stopping now. I think I should bring some souvenirs for her.
The effect had spread worldwide. Two consecutive incidents that happened in Japan wouldn’t be a coincidence, or so they would think. Then they would begin the countermeasure for the strange balloons in New York City a bit more seriously.
I doubted there weren’t any casualties yet. I guessed that a few people had already turned into Magical Girls in New York, and they were gone, unlike what happened in Japan, where they were secured immediately.
Apparently, Akari’s prank originated from Kon and Ron’s knowledge about something similar happening in Deepland. It was just as I thought. It was that event. The advent of Giants who fell from grace.

The trigger would be Solene’s incident last Saturday. So Utahime’s plan was like this. That silly snake. Should I thank her for making things interesting or hate her for making me kill Solene? Anyway, her plan would bore no fruit as long as I existed, so I wasn’t too worried about that.
Now then, I felt Mana reactions moving from the direction of the mountain Akari moved to. It seemed like she successfully roused the distractions.
I looked at the other side, at the highway, where people began to thin out. Most of them had already evacuated from the southern area of Kyoto; destroying that part of the city should be okay.
“Hahahaha!” I laughed maniacally as I saw some shadows running down the mountain. Garmr, Ape-shaped Beasts stronger than Garmr, and I noticed some small Beasts that looked like cats and dogs running toward the city, chasing after Akari.
Their numbers were roughly 100, with 5 Garmr and 6 Ape-like Beasts with ferocious fangs. One of them looked like a gorilla and was stronger than the Ape.
Magiya Blaze might be able to defeat the Ape-like Beast alone, but she wouldn’t be able to defeat that gorilla yet. Now Blaze was in Raylight. Let’s see if the Magical Girls in Kyoto could handle them.
“Show me your strength, Magiya Celes! You said you would be able to handle everything alone. Show it to me! And when you fail, beg me for help! As I will kindly annihilate those Beasts in mere seconds. Show me what you said about the power of Japan’s Magical Girls!”
What a joke. I thought as I noticed some Magical Girls began to fly toward the crowd of Beasts. Among them were Celes and Aquis. Akari had long been gone using her illusion, but I could still feel her Mana reaction approaching me.
Good job, partner. I praised her in my mind. She truly did a good job making the Beasts angry.
The hungry Beasts got scared by a predator bigger than them. Even though I couldn’t see it from this place, Akari must’ve used her illusion to intimidate those Beasts. As I thought, having two wands was cheating. Her growth was even faster than Blaze, and she would reach her level in just a few days.
That said girl slowly appeared on my side, sitting on the other side of her illusion and swinging her legs.
“I am back!” She raised her hand energetically. “And I finished my task. Hehehe.” She giggled cutely, making me want to pat her.
“Welcome back.” I greeted her and turned to the horde once again.
The illusion at my left melted into a fog before disappearing completely. The distraction was successful. More than 20 Magical Girls went to stop the Beasts instead of focusing on their search.
I sat down beside Akari, petting her. Her hair was soft and nice to touch. She purred like a small fox, enjoying my touch. Her ponytail swung ever so slightly against my touch.
“Unn~” She moaned slightly as she slowly leaned her head against my shoulders.
Well, I guess this is fine.
I glanced at her and muttered. “Now we watch.”
“Un.” She replied with a small nod.
