Zmeya’s POV

I almost forgot about the creature that roamed in this world besides the Giants. If we thought about it carefully, then the Giants would need to eat something too. And the creature that I talked about earlier was the Giant's food. They were often called the Beast, and they were varied in size with the smallest amongst them being 3 meters in size.

One of those creatures was currently standing in front of me while baring his fangs to me. His droll was dripping from his sharp teeth as he tried to intimidate me. Strangely, I didn’t feel afraid even when facing a big creature that looked like coming out from the legend.

“Garmr, a three meters wolf huh. The Beast that was often called a tutorial beast by the player base.” I muttered to myself as I looked at the Garmr with no interest.

Usually, this lowly beast like Garmr will not dare to come close to me. I felt insulted… wait. Why did I feel like that? Zmeya’s personality was affecting me more than I thought.

But, now I need to choose what to do. This Garmr was the Beast that served as the new player’s tutorial. Now, this Beast bared its fangs to me, which meant it was looking for death. Maybe it saw me as an easy target because I hid my strength with the Snake Earring, that was why it dares approached me.

“Grrrrrr” The Garmr let out a growl as it opened its mouth.

My mouth slowly curled up into a grin as I extended my right hand towards Garmr’s head. I imitated a pistol’s shape using my index and middle finger and said. “Bam!”

As soon as I said that, green energy gathered in front of my fingers, turned into a bullet shape, and flew towards the Garmr at a high speed that couldn’t be followed by naked eyes. As the bullet hit the Garmr, its head exploded to smithereens.

Its body that lost its head collapsed to the ground as blue blood gushed out from the wound that was created just a second ago. I looked around and saw that the meat from the exploded head was scattered around the area. Thankfully, it didn’t hit me even a little.

‘Well, that was natural, I am Zmeya’s after all. I had calculated the power of my energy so I will not get dirtied by the Beast’s remains.’ I thought inside my mind.

With a smug smile on my face, I began to walk towards the first city again. The church where the new player spawned was close to the city, with only that Garmr that I killed earlier being the obstacle. The Magical Giants city was a bit unusual.

There were two kinds of cities in Magical Giants. The city where the magic technology advanced with a lot of Magical Girls roaming around the street and the city where science technology advanced. In the science city, there were lots of medical centers, a lot of Magical Girls that was defeated in a battle often being seen in the science city.

That was also why the first city is a science city called ‘Hydro’ which was taken from the periodic table of the elements. It was strange, the players often questioned the sanity of the developers and called them lazy by naming the science city from the periodic table of the element.

I didn’t mind about it though, no, I was even grateful for it. Because the city name was taken from the periodic table, I could remember the order of the city from the first city until the last city. As the city had advanced science, naturally their technology was not different from the modern time.

I could see the first city in a distance from where I stood right now. The city was like any modern city, but they had a round translucent barrier around the town. The barrier was made to keep the Beast away from the city, but it did nothing to the Giants. Well, the barrier was made with Giant’s power after all.

Excited about the first town in Magical Giants, I skipped around and hummed a happy song as I approached the city gate where they check every new person when they enter the city. The check was not to forbid any outsider to enter the city, but it was to catch hidden criminals.

Because I had just arrived in this world, I know that I had no criminal record… yet. I-I will not hide it, but I had done a lot of … unquestionable crime when I was playing Magical Giants, which includes… various things. And I was proud of my works! There is a big chance that I will do it again, in the future.

Enough of that, I was a weak young girl right now. Or at least that was what the outsider will say when they looked at me. I was pretty much a shy boy when I was on Earth, but I gained confidence because my personality somehow merged with Zmeya.

But, I couldn’t really feel it after I wore the earring. Could it be, the earring was blocking off Zmeya’s influence over my personality? Now I felt nervous all of a sudden, but it was still better than when I was on Earth.

I have reached the city gate, or often called a transit, and approached the guard that was wearing a dark blue uniform and black hat. He was surprised when he saw me, maybe because he saw a lone girl walking alone from outside the city.

The guard was a man in his middle age with blonde hair. He appeared to be kind as he greeted me when I stopped in front of him.

“Hello, young lady. Do you want to enter the city?” the guard smiled as he said that.

I looked up when he said that because I was way shorter than him. The average height of the men in this world was 180cm if I remembered the setting correctly. I gathered my courage because I was always nervous if I talked to a stranger.

That’s why I coughed a little to clear my note and answered him.

“Don’t you have any eyes? Of course, I am going to enter the city!” I said with a haughty tone as I put my hands inside the hoodie’s pockets.

‘No!! Why did I say that! I thought the earring blocking off Zmeya’s personality, but I was wrong after all!’ I was shouting inside my head.

So the earring that I thought was able to block Zmeya’s influence over my personality was just blocking her influence in my mind! My gesture, personality, and the way I talk were still influenced by Zmeya’s!!

“O-oh, I see. Then you don’t mind if I scanned you, right? That is the procedure to enter the city after all.” Said the guard with a surprised expression. I bet he was taken aback by my haughty tone after all.

The scan that he talked about was scanning for criminals. The scan was conducted using a machine that looked like an infrared thermometer, but it scanned your whole body using the chip embedded inside the device.

This is my chance to talk to him politely. I tried to control my speech and answered him.

“No problem, I will allow you.” and it was a failure!

It seems I can’t control it. So I must live this way until I died? Why! I love a haughty girl, but when I became one myself I had complicated feelings!

The guard just gave me a wry smile as he picked a device that was strapped on his back. He pointed the device to me and it scanned my body with a blue light. After a few seconds, the guard looked at the screen on the device and nodded his head.

“It seems you are clear. Please enjoy your stay at Hydro!”

With that, I managed to enter the first city without any problem.
