Chapter 53: V4C2 – Returning

As a newly birthed [Demon Lord] to the demons, I had no impression. That was until I called for an all-out assault on the [Curses], and the introduction of Eurevos. Though many were already loyal to the status, there were still uncertainties.

Then, my battle was [Broadcast]ed to them by Lovet. They saw that their new [Demon Lord] was undeniably strong and full of vigorous passion. Someone who truly cared about their future - or so they thought. Their revered personage gained validity and a reason to be liked.

And so, after a long march back, the exhausted army and I were greeted by the demons who heard of our victory. 'Aki-sama! Aki-sama!' rang throughout the air as we arrived back at the outskirts of the main castle. The arrangement was like a parade, and the common demons looked on to the heavy soldiers. Many are most likely looking for their family members...

Also, being in contact with Fila, Yoru and I informed the rest about my intent to stay in [Orvinus] for a bit. We had the capability to go back to Earth without consequence and aren't in a rush anyways. I'm sure there are also loose ends the heroes want to tie up. So, I'll enjoy an earned after.

As the heroes and Ai marched back to the [Holy Kingdom]'s center with the troops, murmurs echoed throughout. Those who were said to have returned to their world were impossibly here, along with a songstress of war, the [War Angel]. The [Great Sage] and [Sword Saint] also made appearances. Such a lineup lead to the [Curse]'s retreat -- or so they thought. Ikinver's ride reached the hero's horse's pace with a light push,

"Yo, heroes."

"Ah, Ikinver!"

"Anna too!"

"So you really managed to do it eh? The [Curses]."

"Haha..."

"Really, you guys--so are you going to stay in [Orvinus] for a while? I wouldn't mind it if you stayed here forever!"

"We'll return to Earth eventually, but we have a responsibility to see things through here now that we've gone through a few days of hell."

A hint of disappointment spread on the adventurer's faces. Their natural expressions returned quickly though. 

"Makes sense, well, I'll say it properly this time...welcome back."

"We're home~"

Aki POV:

I think that my existence here is really stirring up a lot of trouble within demonkind. The majority of the population accepts me as the demon ruler and the new [Demon Lord]. There are some though (like Teona) that think I'm just a nuisance. The demons working underneath the surface that I can't hope to touch, those related to the lives that were taken in the [Curse] battle, those who can see my clear ineptness in leadership. Can I really just leave abruptly after all?

I thought about such things as I washed in the large bathhouse similar to an onsen inside the [Demon Lord's Castle]. The cold black walls dimmed the beautifully swirling steam and sparkly water. The temperature was perfect too, it was dwarven technology with touches of magic implemented to create this...

Switching to another topic, a life hack I came up with when bathing...since I have two forms, Akito and Aki, is bathing myself as Akito. Why? Why don't I appreciate the glamor of Aki's stellar form? Sorry, but I'm not about to go all *heavy breathing* on my own female self. I'm fine seeing my own body naked or whatever. The real reason is that it sucks to maintain long hair.

I don't know the principles behind it, but when I wash up my male form's hair to be silky smooth and switch back to Aki, the same effect permeates the entire mass. I can clean myself more effectively and look better when I emerge, a win-win situation right?

On that note, I've lived alone for a while and got used to it. This meant no one barged in on me taking a bath, which is why the situation about to happen is so baffling--

"Kya!"

"A re?"

"Who're you!? Huma--"

Covered slightly in light towels, came two humanoid figures. With nice curves and firm contents beneath the skin, Yaido screeched with a red face. Barely reacting at all next to her, or maybe too overwhelmed, was a child-like figure with porcelain skin (Konno). The steam obscured most of their exposure, but their voices reached to me easily.

"U-uh..."

Yaido began readying a [Dark Flame Blade] with her arm. The skill of mana manipulation that doesn't need to be harnessed through a sword speedily is amazing...

"W-wait Yaido! It's me, Aki! Cho--"

"Lies!"

Ugh, I don't want to die from my own subordinate's misunderstanding. That fire slash is serious, if my normal human body took it, insides -> incinerated. Do you want that to spill all over the bath? Do you?

[Transform]

"Calm down!"

"Huh? Aki-sama!? W-wait! No, what kind of illusion magic are you using! To impersonate the [Demon Lord] like..."

[Soul Breaking Phantasm]

I just gave a little mental prick, proof of the God of Destruction's blessing.

"Ow--it really is Aki-sama...I apologize for my behavior. Almost no one uses the bath in the castle so I was surprised...and that form..."

Dejected, she kneels on the floor. Her nearly naked figure in that position looks both salacious and saddening.

"No no, it was my fault."

I should've been more careful, I thought while sighing lightly. Anyways, the hot water felt too good, and so I haven't moved an inch since they came in despite the fiasco. My brows frowned. Yaido then looked up at me meekly and slowly dipped into the water across from my spot.

"..."

My face blushes deep red. Help me...more steam! Konno followed suit and her face melted happily upon entrance as if she were in heaven. My cute receptors are being tested...

"So, Aki-sama...was that illusion magic or--"

"Uh..."

If I lied about it, I'm pretty sure Konno would bust me immediately. What if I just say it's magic above Konno? Then, she'll keep bugging me to explain it to her since she's crazy about magic. But, I can't say anything to deny that I'm using illusion magic since they're assuming I am to hide tails or a horn as a demon. Geniuses are scary...I need to tiptoe around them with my words. It isn't magic in reality though...I should be vague. Yoru, you're fine with that right?

"That's...my other form. My 'true' form you could say."

"Other form? True form? So you're actually a boy, Aki-sama?"

Konno butted in,

"I couldn't feel your magical presence then at all, do your forms have different abilities? Can you mask your presence with magic when you become male?"

"N-not exactly, my male form doesn't have much power at all."

"Is that so?"

"..."

The atmosphere became uncomfortable. In a wide bath, two girls realized they're sharing water with a guy. I guess you'd be panicking. I go to escape...

"T-Then, I'm getting out..."

"Wait! Let me wash your back!"

"Why!?"

"I can't?"

"Well..."

Are they offering these services because of what they just heard? As Aki there poses no danger...besides me mentally running out. I can't though, sorry!

"Sorry, now that you know I'm a guy...I think that would be a bit inappropriate for--"

"It's fine! It's the [Demonic Blade]'s role to offer their everything to the [Demon Lord]!"

"I-I can also help Aki-sama..."

"No no, I'm not going to take advantage of my position!"

"You're not taking advantage...we want to do this Aki-sama!"

Y-you want to? My characteristics as a '0-experience with romance' person are spilling out. I don't know how to react! So, I get carried away by the flow instead. I begin to think I'm super pathetic as a person. Soon enough, they position themselves...

*rub rub*

*scrub scrub*

*questionable noise*

Oi, what's that questionable noise!?

"Aki-sama...does it feel good?"

"U-un..."

I shyly answer back. The suds of the applied soap foam down and the scent travels through my nostrils steadily. What a great bath...how would this happen back on Earth?

"Ei!"

Konno slaps my hair cutely and in an inexperienced manner with shampoo. She's putting it on gently and rubbing it with her tiny hands. I'm embarrassed and conflicted. But also, ascending to a higher plane of being. Just letting go and letting others do their thing...being serviced really is a great feeling. I deserve it don't I? Haha, I'm not that arrogant to fully believe that. Before my natural oils are all sucked dry, I exit the bath.

After a wonderful experience, I covered my body with a towel and flicked the water drops from my hair in a shake. As I used wind magic to blow hot air, water leaped off and my head became lighter. I let out a 'Fua~' with a twisted mouth, I guess washing long hair isn't too bad. I stretched slightly and took the time to wipe down the rest of myself.

I then took off the towel and changed into my original clothes, the same sweater and shorts from when I was transported. Konno fixed the tears with magic and Sato had [Clean]ed them before so it's sanitary! To use magic for such a mundane and wasteful purpose...well I quite like these clothes. I chose the design myself, so it accentuates me in the way I want after all. Soon after finishing up, Konno and Yaido came out to greet me. 

"Eto...Aki-sama..."

"Thank you, guys. It was great."

Being praised honestly, they shrank back in happiness. Though, was my genuine smile too creepy?

"No no, i-it was no trouble at all Aki-sama."

"But, now we know your secret huh."

I guess they do. Yaido grabbed the side of my arm aggressively pulling it to herself. She became more mischievous--oh no!

"[Demon Lord]-sama~"

Konno latched onto the other end with a cramped face. c u t e .

"Aki-sama!"

The longer I stay around my subordinates who are too loyal...who knows when I'll fall to depravity. My reasons for going back to Earth increased and decreased. But, YES!

(Note: I just thought of a plot hole. If Gauss was dead at the front lines against [Curses] in the beginning, then when they time-traveled to the moment Thouria and Rinky transported, how was Gauss alive next to the King? Just pointing out my own mistakes.)
