Chapter 21: 0020 – Jake

I made the first move and stomped my feet in the ground. It made a fissure and Jake fell down the ground. I used earth magic and closed the opening trapping Jake inside.

I flew up and waited for him. Just a few seconds before disqualification he broke out of the ground and flew up.

With a smile he clapped his hands and a shockwave released towards me. I used barrier magic and averted the shockwave easily.

But I felt an uneasy feeling and flew down. Another shockwave passed right from my spot and I sighed in relief.

“Hoh so you reacted to it, you're more powerful than I expected,” said Jake.

I landed on the ground and launched instant fireballs at him.

Such strength, I need to dodge.

Jake formed a barrier and started avoiding the fireball.

I didn’t stop and attacked him with many instant attacks of varied elements. 

Chet, how frustrating. How could he launch everything?

Jake’s barrier avoided the instant fireball, ice spear, and earth ball and water ball. 

But at the end, the second last rock ball broke the barrier and the last ball hit him in the shoulder.

Teacher Jack has just taken a hit. Let’s see what he does. Hold on to your hearts.

His shoulder was visibly dislocated. I smiled and launched another barrage of instant magic.

This is bad, if one of them but me I will receive massive damage.

Jake formed a 6 layered barrier and started running towards me. He avoided many attacks. His barrier took some direct hits but he didn’t waiver.

He reached me and released a mana ball.

Mana ball is a concentrated ball of pure mana which seeps in the body of the receiver of attack and starts corrupting his or her mana.

I flicked my finger and a huge column of earth rose and hit the mana ball and took it away. I side stepped to avoid Jake and dashed towards him.

I remembered the moves of Ali and an actor called Bruce Lee from Earth. “Aubrey, Becky and Christine I miss you,” I mumbled.

I closed in on Jake and changed the density of my hands to 30 times heavier than water. I casted light magic on my hands and made its weight original only for me.

I added physical strengthening and took my stance as I approached jake.

I started throwing punches at him.

His punches are really heavy and fast. What kind of magic is he using? Isn’t he affected by their weights? Moreover, just what kind of fighting technique is he using?

I didn’t give him any chance to recover. He wasn’t accustomed to fighting like this. He took all the punches and kicks. Many landed on his face and abdomen. Whereas the ones he blocked almost broke his bones.

He cried in pain and jumped to maintain a distance.

I took my stance and punched straight in the air. A huge fist made of air launched towards him and hit him right in the chest.

He flew further away and without giving him a chance I launched 4 ice spikes.

2 embedded in his shoulders and 2 in his thighs, breaking his collar bones and femur bones.

He cried in pain and plopped on the ground.

“Zack has won,” announced the referee.

Medics arrived at the scene and looked at Jake. Then they looked at me with fear as I healed myself up.

I walked away from Jake when suddenly Jake flew up. “You may have beaten me but I won’t let you win,” he said.

He summoned his sword and looked at Freya standing in the first row of spectators right opposite to me.

The barrier placed would easily defend magic attacks but not defend against physical attacks because students were easily able to avoid or tackle any stray physical attack.

Jake pointed his sword at Freya and flew forward with incredible speed. I noticed this and dashed behind him. I overtook him but was unable to stop the sword as he launched it forward.

Freya and other girls stood there with shocked expressions. 

I threw myself in between Freya and the sword. The sword stabbed me and its hilt stopped when it touched my back.

The front tip stopped just a finger length away from Freya’s stomach.

“Zack,” cried the 4 girls in unison.

Before they could do anything I flew back.

I turned and with my left hand took out the embedded sword. I patched myself up using healing magic and looked at Jake standing in the middle of the ground.

He started babbling nonsense, “I won’t let her live, in fact I will kill all your women, I will castrate you, I will behead you and spike your head,”

“I would like to see you try,” I said and started walking towards Jake.

I released all my aura. The audience was shocked and all the first years and second years fainted on spot. The third and fourth years along with the teachers held their ground.

Jake was shivering on the ground, fear could be seen in his eyes. In a last attempt he tried to escape. I blocked his routes using earth walls which were a meter thick.

Wings? Why does he have wings? What is he? All of this because I tried to kill that lowly elf.

“You monster, what kind of demonic powers do you have?” Said Jake.

I didn’t listen to him and was now 5 feet away from him. With a flick of my finger, 2 swords of air manifested and slashed at Jake’s arms, cutting them cleanly.

I used fire magic and burned the arms, to not let him have them healed.

I was about to cut off his legs when suddenly I heard a voice and turned, “stop, you fool,”

I turned to see the headmaster of the academy. A powerful woman, she was probably old in age but her physique was no joke. She had an intimidating aura but it was less dangerous than me.

“How could you do that to my brother?” She said,

“He tried to kill my fiancé,” I said.

She eyed me and waved her hand. A swift air cutter went straight at my girls.

Air cutter was the air sword magic which was used earlier.

I snapped my finger and cancelled the air cutter.

“Do you want to fight?” I asked.

She smirked and dashed at me.
