Kenneth Anderson was leaving New York: Good riddance, you sinful hellhole. Anderson thought while driving off. He was passing the traffic as he prepared his mission from God, his god who called himself Liesmith. He was given a task and would follow them to the point. After all, the good lord had never failed him before. He reached to turn the radio and began listening to gospel music playing as he heard it soothing his very soul. The way the piano chimed as he continued driving.

“Good, Now Anderson, go forth to your child.” Liesmiths voice is strong and convicted. While Anderson nodded, he knew where he needed to go.

“But why My son is dead, the bastard, he dares defy me and defy your word.” He Spoke, finding himself sweating, feeling far more embarrassed at the thought of Adam.

“Trust me. Go to him, he is the first step for my return, and it’ll make sense. Would I lie to you?”

“No… But I haven’t seen him since he told me.”

“Trust me, and your abomination will be taken care of; now drive to him. Make sure you are prepared. Harden your heart.”

“All right, I’ll do as you ask.”

“Good, now trust me. And be a good soldier.” Kenneth Anderson would continue driving, heading down the long road as the sun went down. It would be a long drive as he was determined to reach his disowned son’s house. Kenneth knew where the bastard lived. He just had to get down to California.

Harry groaned as he looked around the living room. The place was cleaned yet. At the same time, The house felt so different.

“Missy!” Harry exclaimed as he looked around for the Cherub. He was slightly annoyed as he realized what was wrong with the room. The place was more prominent. The television was giant. If anyone saw this, he wouldn’t be sure how to explain it. (Not that he didn’t mind.) but if his parents were going to visit, how would he explain it? Seriously they turned his house into a Tardis.

“Missy, where are you!” Harry called out while running around the giant room. Lola headed off, taking her clothes to the bedroom. Missy was in the kitchen cooking what looked to be pancakes. She wore her suit with an apron over it. It seemed a little strange to Harry, but he shook his head.

“Missy! What did you do to my house?”

Missy seemed to close her eyes, clearly annoyed, as she pulled away from looking at the pancakes while the smell was overwhelming.

“I expanded the place a little bit, added some rooms, and ensured it could accommodate us perfectly. Especially for when Lola goes forth and performs her duty.”

“Maybe you could have told me about this before you started transforming my grandparent’s old home. I’ve got family coming over; how am I explain this to them.” Harry waved his hands around, emphasizing what was happening with such a thing, while Missy sighed.

“Do you want me to fix the living room?”

“And the kitchen. Also, if my dad gets in the bathroom, he’ll be there for a week.” Harry grunted while Missy nodded in a huff.

“Fine, sir, I will do that, though it’ll take a minute; let me finish my lunch.” She quickly flipped the pancake that had a slightly crisp look to it.

“Those look a little burnt.”

“Yeah, well, maybe we gods like them burnt; I’ll get to fixing your house again.”

“Well, that’s good. Hopefully, it gets done,” Harry said, unsure what to say as he turned around and headed off. He had a few hours and figured he could get back to work. At least for a few hours. Walking down the hallway, he opened a few doors to find his work-study; it took a few tries as each room seemed to head off into another room. One reminded him of an ancient temple, how the vines climbed pillars; another looked like a sex dungeon as he slowly closed it, imagining it wouldn’t be wise to head in there again.

“It took a few doors, in any case. He finally found his office. Thankfully nothing had changed. He figured Missy hadn’t gotten to that when he stepped inside, closing the door behind him. The room was small with a single desk and chair, the Dell computer lying on it as he sat down, booting it back on.

“Well, what’s on the table today.” He said that the laptop turned on, and soon the word document turned on. He stared at it for a second, looking at what was written; CHAPTER 8.

He sighed, watching the cursor blink in frustrated annoyance. His mind flashed as he thought about what would happen in this chapter. He tapped the keyboard while finding the right words, though it would annoyingly hit the backspace. Something didn’t add up as he tried to find the right scene.

Harry would spend a half-hour trying to get everything to get the chapter right. Yet nothing came up. As He looked over the five hundred, he managed to write,

“Crap, nothing but crap. Oh well.” He erased what was written, finding it wasn’t even worth keeping. Harry decided to get something to drink as he left the room. He looked around, seeing everything was back to normal—a sigh of relief as he walked back into the kitchen.

He grabbed a drink, and Harry turned around to see Lola sitting in the living room with the television on as her eyes glued to the screen. He chuckled, watching what was being played, seeing her watching an Anime.

“Like what you are seeing?” He asked with a slight chuckle.

“Yeah, it’s great; I swear you humans come up with some of the most interesting things,” Lola said, watching the show with much delight.

“I can imagine. I think it’s one of my favorites.” Harry chuckled while bouncing onto the chair while falling. Lola bounced in delight, squeaking with a smirk as she lifted her legs. Harry smirked more.

“But yeah, It’s rather interesting. What, your gods don’t have them up there in heaven?”

“No, we mainly work to help keep the balance around you, mortals. If we need entertainment, well, a lot of us watch you. I guess you could consider it as our reality shows.”

“Some of you come down and marry mortals?” Harry chuckled lightly, finding himself getting used to such a strange situation.

“Yap, that’s some though others like to screw with mortals. I know there was this one God. He led his pantheon; he would come down and screw a bunch of mortals.”

“So, Zeus exists, all the other gods?”

“It’s complicated. I might have to explain more about it someday if you ask.” She smiled more while leaning back, her fingers hovering in the air as she looked around.

“So, how does one become a god? You said you were a minor god before a love goddess? How do you gain a position?”

“Well, when one God dies, another ends up taking their place; call it a promotion; when the last God of Life died, I got lucky to be chosen as his replacement, which allowed me to become the goddess of Love and Life. I think they chose me cause of who my sister was.”

“Your sister? Wait, how does a god get killed? Aren’t you guys like eternal?”

Lucy giggled more as she shook her head; “We’re immortal; it’s just a secret. Sometimes it happens like an accident; Pan’s a famous case in heaven. Though it’s rare, we die, and yeah, my sister… You might meet her one day; her name is Annabelle. She’s the goddess of Death and Lust. She’s popular right now because she’s one of the first goddesses to marry a mortal in the last thousand years.”

There was a twinge of annoyance on her face when she said that. Like the thought of her sister had caused the young goddess pain. Harry wasn’t sure what to say about that.

“Well, you’re going to be considered one of the greats, I bet; heck, you’ve got some pretty cool abilities, like causing that woman on the plane to give birth.” Harry smiled, which only caused Lola to smile with much delight.

“You think so? Cause I didn’t know if it would work since I hadn’t accessed ability like this before.” Lola chuckled. Harry couldn’t help but eye her for a second, almost wondering.

“So, all that was just you trying out?” Harry said, more surprised than anything, while Lola nodded,

“Yeah, I better get going don’t want to be late on my first day.” Lola pulled herself off the couch, blowing Harry a quick kiss as she made her way out. Walking off, Harry couldn’t help but find himself more confused than anything and shook his head.

“Well, have a good day at work then!” Harry wasn’t sure how that would go, but the better chance to get her out of his hair, the better; besides, he needed to prepare the house and get dinner ready, especially if his parents were coming over. He suddenly found himself stopping as he called out.

“Hey, try to be back around. I don’t know eight; my parents are coming over.” Lola stopped.

“You’re having me meet your parents. Oh my god, this will be an amazing woot, Don’t worry, Hubby, I’ll be back home by then. I don’t think it’ll be any problem.” There was a flash of light as Lola suddenly wore fine white robes, the kind that only a goddess or even a princess could wear, as she circled. Lola vanished into thin air. Harry shook his head, Unsure if he would ever get used to something like that.

“Well, Better get to work.” Harry sighed, wondering how Lola’s day at work would turn out. He turned around and began cleaning up some of the bags laid around.

- - -

Lola began going forth through the portal. A hand over a simple staff provided to her, a bag in the other hand. Lola looked around at the others. It was indeed something as she was giddy with excitement as she realized she was finally achieving her first day as the goddess of Life. Sure, she had her duties as a love goddess, but now she could help bring life and balance to the world.

She moved through the ether, trying to find where she needed to go when she landed in a hospital. Looking around, she saw she was in the Maternity ward. She gave a long smile as she knew what was in store.

“Oh, it’s time to give a soul to some newborns.” She saw the many young children as she smiled with utter joy. Her hand reached over as she prepared to hand out the very souls of the newborn. Her eyes were on each of them as she pulled out the first soul, a boy’s to be specific, as she started To hold out the glowing orb. She looked towards it, seeing the basics of its life,

“Hmm, you’ll grow up to be such a playboy.” She giggled, placing the young soul into the child who slept soundly. Once it was put into the child, his eyes woke up, and he began letting out a scream as if wanting something. Lola ignored it, giving a broad smile, knowing that soon someone would arrive to check on the young ones.

Lola would continue handing over more souls as she passed over them when one thing came up. As she was about to place a soul into a tiny baby girl, she was about to put it when a voice came out that stopped her.

“Sorry, sister, but I don’t think you’ll want to do that.” Lola turned around to see where the voice came from; Lola saw her; she was a tall, voluptuous woman with black-rimmed glasses and Short hair wearing a suit. She looked at Lola with a warm smile and held out a scythe.

“Annabelle, it’s you… and what are you doing here?” Lola said while her shoulders slumped.

“Same as you, my job, little sis. Sadly, this little pretty isn’t long for this world, sadly,” Annabelle said, her smile slipping as she looked over the minor child, her fingers grazing it, as the child who was tossing and turning went limp as if it had never lived before.

“What the heck? Why did you take her life? She hadn’t even had a chance to gain a soul. She didn’t get to live.” Lola said, irritated as she looked back at the Goddess of Death.

“It was my orders, like yours. I’ve got a few appointments here; I’m sorry, though I heard you got married, sis; congrats.” Annabelle said as she suddenly pulled Lola into a hug. Lola, in turn, found herself frozen for a second as the incarnation of death held on her.

“Yeah, he’s an adorable guy. We just went clothes shopping. Um, how’s your husband? I mean that Dan guy since he can’t visit the gods.” Lola said while still in the hug, patting Annabelle right on the back.

Annabelle pulled back with a long smile. Her ruby-red lips curled into a bright smile.

“He’s doing amazing, watching over little Johnny, and he’s such an amazing dad. Hey, maybe we should have a reunion. Dan would love to meet you. I’ve told him so much about you.”

“Oh well, that’s great; I’ve never met him. Um, and you have a son—That’s great.” Lola said while her shoulders slumped more, looking at Annabelle for a second.

“Seriously, it’s so great; I was so shocked when you were promoted; I never expected you’d take over that Dicks job after he hit the bucket.”

“Yeah, really good,” Lola said while she looked down at the dead baby; her heart wept as she wanted to give it life, walk over and bring it back. But a part of her knew the rules as she looked over. “What’s going to happen now? I mean, the family of the little one?” she held back the urge to cry as she looked toward it and felt her heart breaking even more.

“The little one. Sadly, they’ll find her and tell the father. But by then, he’ll find out his wife passed in her sleep. This is going to be a sad time for him. But You’ll probably have him later for when he’s ready to find love; it might be a year from now or maybe longer. But You’ll be called to help him out.” Annabelle looked down at the little one, clearly saddened by the death, as she caressed its cheek. The stiff expression on the child’s face as it barely moved.

“Sometimes, this job can be rough. I think after work, I’ll hug little Jimmy.” Lola watched as a tear escaped her eyes. At the same time, Lola moved in, patting her shoulder. There was silence between them While Annabelle looked back, giving a gentle smile.

“Now, get going; you got much work to do, Goddess of life. Please have fun, and you’ve got to tell me where you’re living. I want to meet this special guy who caught my adorable sister’s heart.”

“Sis, stop embarrassing me in front of the babies!” Lola whined as she looked over to the babies running around for the moment as some babies who had finally gained a soul's eyes opened and began crying. Lola couldn’t help but look at them and find them more adorable by the second.

“Well, you have fun, sis; I gotta go; I got a woman with dementia over in room five minutes. I wanna give her last moments a nice one.” She headed out, almost gliding as Lola watched Annabelle head out. For a second, she couldn’t help but watch her older sis groan in annoyance as a part of her was seeing green.

“Focus just focuses, Lola; we gotta get back to work; besides, I only got one more soul left.”

She leaned down and smiled, “Now, aren’t you the prettiest little boy I’ve ever seen? Well, here you go, little guy. I got a good soul for you.” She leaned down, placing a tiny boy’s soul into the child's body. There was a moment’s pause as she looked, and the baby was screaming its loud lungs.

“Well, little guy, you have a good life. Hmm, what’s your name.” She looked down at the baby’s name card and saw it right there. Alice Stone. Lola stood there; her eyes widened as she looked back at the babe and realized she had put a boy’s soul into the little girl. “Uh-oh.” She looked embarrassed and looked back and forth for a second, making sure no one was around.

“Um, Sorry there. I— Oh sweet me, I screwed up.” She looked around for a second and tried pulling the soul out. Her hand passed into the child’s as she tried pulling the soul out to see if she could fix it. Her hand wrapped around the ball of blue energy as she tried pulling it out, though as she tried, Lola found she couldn’t. The thing was stuck in there.

“Well… This is just great. Annabelle did it!” Lola said as she started running out of the room, leaving the babies crying for their mothers.

Lola continued going through work as she snuck around lightly. Passing through a high school, she giggled as she would give some of the younger boys as Lola leaned in and grazed them, as she would see some of the girls and edge the boys. Have them notice the other one and bring some attraction.

“Young love,” Lola said while sighing. One of the things she excelled at more than anything while she kept an eye on the nervous teenager going over and asking a girl out. It was adorable as she watched how they talked before vanishing away. So far, this ran better than the soul-giving, but she imagined she would get better in time. After all, It was just the beginning.

She couldn’t help admiring the world for a moment of silence as she passed the halls.

“Love, and life, youth, and feeling. It feels amazing.” She walked onwards as she suddenly passed a closet in the school. Hearing a light voice,

“Careful, Jimmy, someone might hear us!”

“I can’t help it, babe; I’m getting close, Fuck, you feel amazing!” A young man said as. Lola found herself slinking her head in as she saw two young people looking to be around eighteen having some fun in the janitor’s closet, the boy’s pants hanging down between his ankles as the girl was pressed against the wall. She was a petite blond whose clothes bunched up, showing her dark nipples as she wrapped her legs around his waist as they were doing it.

“Come on, hurry up, Jesus! I can’t believe you talked me into doing this!” The girl moaned louder as she wrapped her arms around him, kissing the boy with all her might. Lola snickered, finding this completely cute, especially seeing how they acted like stupid young love, but she couldn’t help watching closer as she saw him releasing his load deep into her; Lola had an idea. A horrible idea but an idea for something that they would never forget.

The young adult groaned as he bent over as pulled his cock out; the girl looked at him a little annoyed,

“Could have gotten me off also.”

“You told me to hurry; sorry, maybe this Saturday?” He rubbed the back of his head while the girl sighed,

“Sure, bring condoms; you’re lucky I’m on a safe day.” Little did she know, Lola, the Goddess of Life, snuck in closer as she rolled a finger down her back, giving it a light graze as her stomach would gently glow, allowing the process to begin.

“Sorry, dear, but it wasn’t a safe day, Have fun.” She giggled almost evilly; after all, how could one be a goddess of life without spreading a tiny bit of chaos?

Harry was standing over the stove cooking a delicious meal when he heard the door open. He looked over his shoulder, seeing That Lola had walked through the restored house with a chip in her step as she gave Harry a wide grin.

“Hey, Harry!” She said with a pitch in her step as she tossed a bag over the couch.

“Oh, Hey, Lola,” Harry said as he watched her transform her clothes from those robes to something casual. “Hey, before you try and get too comfortable, remember my parents are on their way, and I don’t want you doing anything too crazy.”

“Wait, your parents are coming over!” Lola said, her head shooting up for a minute as she realized what he had said.

“Lola, relax, it’s just my parents. I mean, there’s nothing to worry about.” Harry found himself shocked by how Lola was reacting. It was nearly whiplash.

“But it’s your parents; what if they don’t like me? What if they think I’m not worthy of being their daughter-in-law!” Harry watched her for a second when he heard the door knocking.

“Oh wow, um, I think that’s them.” There was a quick headshot as Lola found herself vanishing without a trace. Harry looked at where she was standing for a second and called out,

“Hey, get back here; you wanted to marry me.” Harry looked over, seeing the door and hearing the continuous knocking. “Now, come on, appear.”

“No, I’ll come back when they leave!”

“Come on, Lola, get back here now; I told them you would be here. Could you not make me? Well, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. Should I bribe!” Harry wasn’t even sure what to say. The whole situation was strange.

“I swear to you if you don’t.” There was a momentary silence as, Without warning, Missy pulled Lola right out the back door, bringing her in.

“Please, Mistress, stop acting like this. It’s below you.” Missy looked over at Lola with a gentle smile while Lola looked terrified.

“Besides, if they disrespect you or cause trouble, you can always smite them.” Missy adjusted her glasses for a second while Harry looked back at the two, his mouth dropping as he shook his head,

“No, we are not smiting my parents. No smiting. You are smiting assistant!” Harry usually called out before groaning; he could develop a better line for his book. Right now, he was losing his touch. “Seriously, I normally come up with better lines than this.” Harry shook his head,

“Never mind, Missy, no smiting—I don’t know, do Missy stuff; Lola, relax. It’s not going to be that bad Mom’s great.” Harry walked over as he opened the door and suddenly pulled into a giant bear hug without warning.

Harry wondered if he would regret the no-smiting rule he had just made.

“Harry, it’s so good to see you.” His mom called out, holding onto him like he was trapped in a bear trap. The short, plump woman held on with a gentle smile as she hugged him tighter,

“Mom, it’s good to see you; please, I can’t breathe.” He grunted while trying to break free from her death grip.

“So sorry, but it’s so good to see you, and you never seem to call me.”

“Hey, it’s not my fault; I just forgot, that’s all.” The quick moment as he was released.

“Careful there, Betty. Don’t need to strangle the poor boy.” The older man who’s greying hair said while walking back in. With a confident smile, even with the heavy gut, he headed inside, patting his son on the shoulder.

“Hey, Dad, how’s it going.”

“It’s been good, same thing day after day, besides hiding the card from your mom.” He smirked back at his wife, who flashed him a dirty look.

“I don’t spend so much.”

“I know, I know, just messing with you, ok Betty? So, what’s for dinner?” He clapped his hand, looking a bit hungrier as he looked back at Harry soon. Looking around, the older man saw Lola standing there, almost nervous.

“Ahh, and who’s this lovely lady.” He said with a slight smirk while looking back at Harry.

“Oh, um, mom, dad, this is Lola.” Harry raised his hand, introducing her to the two of them. Lola looked over, nervous, as she gave a light wave.

“Oh, hello there.” His Dad said, giving a smile. What happened next nearly freaked Lola out as Betty Harry’s mother suddenly gave a wide smile as she held her arms out and began hugging her, as she ran over holding her tightly.

“It’s so nice to meet you. I never thought my son would ever find anyone.” Betty spoke higher as she was almost bouncing. Harry couldn’t help but find it amusing while watching Lola being bounced. If anything, Harry imagined how his mother might react if she knew she was hugging an actual goddess. She might freak.

“It’s nice to meet you… Betty?” Lola said while she found herself patting the woman’s back.

“No, don’t call me Betty. Call me Mom; you’re a part of this family while dating my son.” She looked over her for a second.

“Harry, she certainly is a cutie. Where did you meet her?” Betty asked; Harry found himself coughing while; harry realized the two hadn’t come up with a plan to explain it. If Lola told his mom they were married, he’d be dead.

“Well… We met—” Lola seemed to try and find the right words when Harry suddenly said,

“We met at FedEx, I was printing off a manuscript, and she sent a package.” He took a deep breath in relief, figuring that would do.

“Oh, that’s lovely, Though I wish you had told me beforehand,” Betty said while letting Lola go. Lola seemed to sigh in relief while looking back toward the other two.

“So, let’s get dinner ready.” Harry’s Dad said while clapping his hand.

-000-

The stew was great, Luke had to admit. Sure, it wasn’t his best, but it tasted pretty good. If he said so himself, watching his parents enjoy the meal while Lola looked at it and took slow bites.

“So, Lola, what do you do for a living?” Betty said while taking a bite of beef.

“Oh, I help people with their relationship; help get it started.” Lola smiled while trying her best to keep the fact that she was a goddess a secret.

“Oh wow, I bet that’s much fun; you know I did that for a few of my friend’s kids, Some of them from my church. I helped introduce them to some lovely girls, and they’re happily married.” Betty said while giving a smile; Harry found it somewhat infectious.

“Well, besides Jack, your mom doesn’t like to talk about that.”

“Well, how was I supposed to know Jack was gay? He was such a nice fellow.”

“Did you see what the guy wore? He was more fashionable than you.”

“We don’t talk about it; besides, he’s very much happy with that Jim fella, sad he left the church,” Betty said, quite annoyed Lola, who couldn’t help but find herself giggling at such an idea.

“Well, what I do is a bit more complicated,” Lola said while she took another bite; her eyes lightened up as she enjoyed it.

“Well, it doesn’t matter if you make my little Harry happy. When can I expect grandchildren?” Betty said; Harry couldn’t help but find himself choking on his stew,

“Mom, don’t ask that,” Harry said while pounding on his chest.

“What? I want to know when I can have grandchildren. Oh, You should join us for church sometime.”

“Betty, please don’t they start dating? We don’t need to scare her.” Harry’s dad said, trying not to laugh, but he smiled like a bastard. Betty snicked,

“Come on; I just got to mess with them, though I want to have grandchildren when I get a chance, all right.” She eyed them more while Harry held his hand up in defense.

“Listen, not going to have kids, not for a while.”

-000-

Dinner turned out pretty well for the rest of the night. Nothing much happened besides Harry’s mom trying to show off baby photos. Luckily it never got to that. The group laughed and shared stories, like when Harry accidentally set the kitchen on fire.

“It’s been so great to see you, Harry; please call me, especially you, Lola.” She pulled Lola in for a hug while Lola wasn’t sure what to say as she hugged back, looking a bit more comfortable. The smile on her face was quite amusing.

“Sure thing, Bet—I mean Mom,” Lola said while they watched the two leave the house. Harry sighed in relief as he found the tension had finally subsided.

“Thank goodness; I thought they never left. I love those two, but I sometimes swear those two drive me crazy.” Harry said while relaxing.

“I don’t know. They weren’t as bad as I thought they were.” Lola smirked while she leaned in, bumping her hips in.

“Well, At least you didn’t turn her into salt.”

“I don’t know. I was tempted to turn her into a chicken. Especially after she hugged me so quickly.” Harry couldn’t help but laugh, imagining his mother turned into a chicken. Sure, he wasn’t a fan of that idea, but at the same time, it would’ve been quite funny.

Harry soon noticed how Lola was watching him; those piercing brown eyes never seemed to relent. Then without warning, Lola jumped at Harry, causing him to fall back and land.
