“It’s okay.” Ruan Qiuqiu sighed in relief. She scooted over while still wrapped in the animal skin and finally touched Mr. Gray Wolf’s hand.
Without waiting to explain, she entwined her altered spiritual energy with a wisp of the fiend energy in his body.
Almost instantly, Yuan Jue could feel the pain he felt lessening.
Ruan Qiuqiu gasped in pain and abruptly bent over. She almost fell over. That strand of altered spiritual energy wasn’t able to last long in his body. It dissipated after about 30 seconds.
Ruan Qiuqiu’s face paled in pain, but her mood still improved by a lot. “The injury on his back is actually healing.”
The most serious injuries on his body were on his shoulders, back, and his left leg which had been torn by an unknown creature. Although she had been working very hard to treat his injuries, she was lacking in herbs and Mr. Gray Wolf’s injuries kept intermittently bleeding.
She had barely been able to staunch the bleeding last night and was surprised to see that his back injury had scabbed over. The condition of his wound was extremely good.
“Did the spiritual energy from yesterday work…? That’s great,” Ruan Qiuqiu quietly murmured while she worked on lessening the pain.
She was truly very happy. Several days had passed, and this was the first time she saw significant improvement in one of Mr. Gray Wolf’s injuries.
Ruan Qiuqiu smiled. Her face had turned pale from pain, but she was still smiling very happily. Seeing that Mr. Gray Wolf’s furry tail was poking out of the animal skin blanket, she couldn’t resist the temptation of putting her somewhat cold hands on it.
The fur on the outer part of his big tail was somewhat stiff, but the fur on the inside was very soft and silky. It felt very comfortable to touch. The tactile sensation was addicting. As she clutched the wolf fur, Ruan Qiuqiu softly and slowly asked, “Are you going to get better soon, Mr. Food Reserve?”
As he listened to her somewhat expectant tone, Yuan Jue felt weak all over when she stroked his tail.
He couldn’t quite put into words what he was feeling.
If Ruan Qiuqiu knew that the reason his injury had healed so quickly was because of the fiend energy in his body and not the spiritual energy she had worked so hard to pass into his body…

Would she mind? Would she still hope that he would get better?
Once she found out, would she reject him?
As a proud wolf, who had had zero experience or contact with the opposite gender, Yuan Jue wasn’t able to put into words what he felt for Ruan Qiuqiu. He had thought about this all night.
And yet, he had reached a very shameless conclusion. He absolutely didn’t want to forget her or leave her. Just thinking about the possibility of separating from her made him crazy.

And, as long as he didn’t recover and remained a crippled and useless wolf demon, she would never leave him. If he didn’t get better, he would continue to be in a lot of pain, fall unconscious a lot, and be very hungry. But, she wouldn’t leave him if he was weak.
But… She would get worn out from exhaustion. Her life would be so hard. She would be bullied by others and there would be no hope in her life.
Two more days, he would give himself two more days. If things didn’t turn around by then…
Falling into a deep sleep, Yuan Jue closed his long, narrow eyes tightly. There was chillness on his beautiful lips and gloom that couldn’t be dispersed under his pitch-black eyebrows.

After confirming that Mr. Gray Wolf was okay, Ruan Qiuqiu got out of bed. She boiled water, cleaned herself, and then took care of the wolf.
Since last night’s dinner was very luxurious, Mr. Gray Wolf and her breakfast wasn’t that rich today. It was just dried meat and rehydrated tuber powder.
Today’s weather was much better than yesterday’s. When Ruan Qiuqiu went out to get snow, she felt that the snow was falling at noticeably slower speed. By the time she prepared healing water in the small wooden cup, the falling snowflakes had gotten much smaller.
Such good weather was very suitable for catching prey and even more suitable for finding herbs. Even if the good weather also meant that there’ll be more predators coming out of their dens, she didn’t have many options.
