Chapter 35 The Problem of Zhang Feng’s Vitality

Li Wei had one more task to complete after taking care of the farm. It was now time for him to consider Zhang Feng’s issue.

“Zhang Feng gifted me his capsule when my vitality was just 0.35.” This friendship and trust was something that he had to repay no matter what. It was also why he had left a carrot behind.

As usual, he began to ask questions to the system assistant. “Can the things on the farm be brought to reality? Can people in the real world eat it?”

It goes without saying. He wanted Zhang Feng would join him at the Imperial Martial Arts University. The big guy was not going to be a manager.

The carrot that he had saved was for Zhang Feng. Then he would be able to maintain a vitality of six points and meet the admission requirements for the university. His hopes were dashed, however, when he received the following response from the system.

“Beep! Items from the system can not be taken out! This operation can not be executed!”

Li Wei has just received the worst news of the day. The things on the farm can not be brought out? What about Zhang Feng?

Everything had been going according to plan up until this point. However, he could not complete the most vital task for his friend. This made him sick.

Even though they now had money, the college entrance exams were approaching fast. As a result, it would be difficult to purchase products on the market that would boost vitality.

It was the same case every year in the human empire. Everyone sought a high vitality value, and thus the real nobles would find a way to purchase all of the vitality products on the market. Such a strategy would not be considered “selfish.” There was even a political agreement in it.

The nobles were a small minority in human society. They did not want a big group of strong martial artists to show up yearly since that would undermine their rank and authority. The hands of power interfered more often in times of crisis.

There was a good chance that Li Wei would fail if he tried to use the money to buy vitality items in the real world. At the same time, it was also impossible to transfer the farm’s contents.

‘What do I do now?’ Li Wei felt a pang of regret. He should not have used the vitality capsule as a bet. He fell into deep thought.

After staring at the farmland for a long time, he came up with the final solution. That would be Han Chong. The source of trouble was often the solution.

He had gambled on the vitality capsule back then. As it was a wager, the banker was unable to consume it. He would have to wait till the Fist of Hope competition was through, at the very least.

Hence, Zhang Feng still had hope! If he won the championship, that vitality capsule would return to him. This way, the problem would be solved when Zhang Feng ate it.

With this answer, Li Wei snapped his fingers! ‘I must win the championship!’

It was already half-past seven in the morning when he returned to reality. The farm work this time had consumed much of Li Wei’s time and energy. Even so, when he woke up, he was full of energy. It was as if he had not been drenched in sweat just a moment ago.

First, Li Wei checked the balance on his bank card. Another fact was confirmed, the system was not playing around when it took away the 25,000 Empire Dollars.

When he got up, Li Wei found that Zhang Feng was still asleep. He walked out of the dorm and pulled out his phone to call Han Chong.

Ring… Ring…

Ten seconds later, a frustrated voice answered, “It’s so early in the morning… Who am I talking to?”

“It’s me.”

Han Chong’s demeanor changed when he heard Li Wei’s voice. He sat up and said, “Ay, you called me? Let’s make this clear. You can’t increase the bet anymore!”

Han Chong had been depressed about yesterday’s incident. He was given a heavy trashing when he got home and told his father about Li Wei’s bet.

It was not because Han Tianlin was distraught over the prospect of losing a million Empire Dollars, but because he could not believe his kid would make a stupid bet with someone with such high vitality. This would affect the Han family’s reputation in the underworld.

That was why Han Chong told the other party that he would not accept additional stakes to the original bet. He was overthinking things because Li Wei did not intend to do so. He was already satisfied to get a 1 to 100 payout rate from a professional family.

“Don’t worry. I’m not going to increase the stakes.” The cautious Li Wei looked around at both sides of the corridor, then continued, “You didn’t eat the capsule, did you?”

As soon as Han Chong heard this, he immediately grasped what he was saying and said, “Li Wei! We’ve been in school together for a few years, don’t you know what kind of person I am? I can’t touch the bet before the final outcome is out. This is the rule of the underworld! I don’t know about others, but no one from the Han family has ever done this before. How embarrassing!”

In other words, Han Chong had not tampered with the vitality capsule and had only held on to it. It could only be dealt with after the Fist of Hope was over. With this guarantee, Li Wei heaved a sigh of relief.

In that case, as long as he won the championship, the vitality capsule would still return to him. He would not have to worry about Zhang Feng anymore.

Although Han Chong’s reputation in school had always been awful enough that he was known as a little hooligan, he was nonetheless a good guy.

He gambled, flirted, did not study hard, and did things like that daily, but this banker also had his strengths. He would never go back on his promises. If he said that the underworld would beat you up, he would do so. If he lost, he would still fulfill the bet.

In short, this guy would never do anything to embarrass the Han family. In his heart, his family’s reputation was more important than anything else.

Of course, this was excluding the fact that he could not get into college. After all, his talent was limited, and he could not become a martial artist simply by working hard.

“Don’t worry. I have the capsule with me. Call me when the competition is over.” Reverting to his typical attitude of nonchalance, Han Chong sneered. “Li Wei, given your tone, do you believe you will win? I’d advise you not to be too arrogant. You have not encountered a true expert yet. Our bet is not settled!”

Li Wei knew that the banker was acting in a fit of anger. After all, no one likes being played. However, he did not have any intention of consoling the Han Chong. He said, “That’s right. Then keep it safe for me. Remember to return it to me after the finals tomorrow.”
