[12 Hours before Fury went rogue, New Orleans]
In the darkness of the night, two people were standing in front of a chapel. One was a teenager, and the other one was an adult woman, one had blonde hair, and one had black hair.
“You sure this is the place?” said the teenager, Tandy Bowen. “It looks… empty…”
“The boy has lived here for about 2 years now,” said the other woman, Jeanne. “Go on, I’ll leave you two alone to talk.”
“What?” Tandy snapped towards Jeanne. “You’re leaving me to talk to the boy alone?”
“Your bond is strong with him Tandy.” Jeanne smiled. “It’s best if you talk it out with him first, explain to him what’s going on.”
Tandy looked quite nervous, she stared at the double door of the chapel, hesitating.
“What? You’re not talking to your crush or anything.” Jeanne chuckled. She pushed Tandy towards the door. “Just go, he’s not going to bite… I think…”
“You think?” Tandy snorted, but she kept going anyway. She took a deep breath, before opening the chapel.
Jeanne only looked at the girl that had just entered the chapel. The doors closed by itself as if the wind was pushing it. Jeanne stood in front of the chapel, waiting for the girl to talk. She looked at her watch, it was around 9 PM local time, the streets were empty, all doors were closed, and no noise whatsoever.
Suddenly, her earpiece buzzed. She clicked the button that was attached to it, and a voice spoke.
“Jeanne, there is someone stalking you.” said the voice.
“I know.” Jeanne hummed. “It’s painfully obvious… I mean, who walks with a metal arm?”
“Find out who it is. He seems soviet-made… but check it out just to be sure.”
“Got it.” Jeanne said.
Just when she hung up the phone, she heard a gunshot from afar, and from the looks of it, it was heading towards her. Jeanne raised her hand, and the gun hit the palm, shattering on it. Jeanne dropped the lead to the ground.
Her eyes glowed in the middle of the darkness, and a flash of light appeared around her. The assassin saw that Jeanne had disappeared after the flash had passed, and it made him alert. The man tried to look for her using his scope, but he didn't find anything.
“Looking for something?” a voice said from behind him, he turned from instinct to hit the voice using his metal arm, but the woman behind him easily blocked it, even grabbing it by the bicep.

The assassin then used his other arm to punch the woman’s face, but the woman just grabbed him using her other hand. Jeanne stared at the assassin’s face, he had a google, red-tinted, and a black mask.
“Who are you behind that mask?” said Jeanne in russian.
The assassin’s eyes widened at her voice, before the man could do anything, Jeanne headbutted his face, cracking the goggles and injuring the man’s forehead.
The assassin’s face was filled with blood, but he could only stare at Jeanne lifelessly. Jeanne kicked the man, launching him through the air. The assassin passed through the chapel’s wall, and he hit a beam that was inside the place.
Jeanne walked inside it, ignoring the two teenagers at the corner of the room. She approached the unconscious assassin, and tore off his mask.
“Anna?” Jeanne spoke through her comms. “I got his face.”
“Let me check.” Anna in the comms said. Jeanne’s contact lens took a photo of the man, and Anna tried to find the identity of the man from the extensive database of the Unseen Ones. “Got it… his name is… Sergeant James Barnes… he served the US during the second world war alongside… Steve Rogers? Oh wow, I never saw that coming.”
“How the hell does he have a soviet made gun?” Jeanne asked, checking out James' rifle.
“Says here he was presumed dead during a mission gone wrong… but… the body was never recovered. If I have to guess, he must’ve been saved by the HYDRA, as he was presumed dead near a HYDRA base. Oh wait, I got another data about him here…”
“What is it?”
“The Winter Soldier. He’s been active since the 50s, so it must be him. Bradley apparently met him during the Korean War. he killed Kennedy, and… wow, even Howard Stark.”
“That is quite a feat.” Jeanne whistled. “What should we do? It seems HYDRA is starting to actively find us…”
“Alright, Bradley’s in the US right now, I’ll tell him to contact Fury for cooperation, they’re making some big moves here.”
“What about Barnes?”
“Bring him to HQ, see we can do something about him.”
“Roger that.” Jeanne hummed as he stood up. He turned around, only to see two frightened teenagers hugging each other. “Oh wow, didn’t think it would be this fast. Done with your business yet? We need to go home.”
“W-Who is that?” The African-American boy asked Tandy.
“My mentor… don’t worry about it, she’s always like that…” Tandy sighed. She walked up to Jeanne, along with the African-American boy, and all of them teleported away from the place, leaving it half destroyed.
