Chapter 20: Lady Tigers (2)
—
It seemed Liz Allan didn't realise that the picture of two Tigress women he showed her had the exact names he told her— or perhaps she didn't want to think of that as a possibility? In either case, Liz didn't realise that the name of the mask-wearing White Tiger was Ava Ayala, and Enrique didn't bother correcting her.
Still, Liz was understandably worried as to why Enrique was looking for her. Had Ava committed any sort of crime? However, Enrique managed to calm her down that no- Ava had done nothing wrong and was rather in a problem that only Enrique could help her with.
Despite the fact that she didn’t realise Ava’s identity, Liz was a smart girl, so when Enrique insisted that the situation was a superhero’s job and the NYPD might not be able to help, she agreed to not call the police and rather gave Enrique Ava's address.
"Then let's stop here, Liz." Enrique stood up from his seat. "Really appreciate the help, and sorry our date had to come to an end this way, but I promise Ava will be safe because of this."
Liz blinked at the word ‘date’ but nodded soon after and watched Anna wave at her one last time before both of the superheroes left for Ava's home.
Enrique was honestly a bit surprised Ava was in town, moreover in touch with her friends and family even. After all, White-Tiger was last seen six months ago, not once after that. He had expected her to be in a run with Tigra, away from the organisation named “Hand”. Perhaps she lost her Amulet that was her source of power? If so, that’d explain how she was still in the city— since the Hand wouldn’t come after her if she didn’t have the amulet.
But if she didn’t have the amulet, that also meant that visiting her wouldn't be that beneficial. He doubted how much a normal human, without any super strength, would be able to teach him in hand-to-hand combat.
Though it’s another story if Tigra was also with Ava. Liz didn't know who Greer Nelson was, but the possibility of her staying with Ava— or Ava at least knowing her location, was high.
It took Enrique 7 whole minutes of flying through the tall sky of New York to reach the given address. He hoped Liz hadn’t called Ava to tell her about this, Enrique couldn’t tell her not to since that’d seem too suspicious.
"Rogue," Enrique said as he looked down on the house that matched the address. "Don't engage in a fight against them unless I tell you to."
"Them?" Rogue asked.
"Ava may be with the other woman, the tigress-humanoid from the photo. Chances are high." He said as he lowered to the ground before dropping in front of the door of Ava's house. "Be on guard."
Enrique pressed the bell and soon heard a 'Coming!' from inside the house. He waited before the door opened and an olive-skinned girl's head popped out from the barely-opened door. She blinked, and for an instant the girl seemed panicked, but she smiled softly a second later.
"Supernova?!" she said in an excited voice, opening the door fully. But Enrique smelled the hint of nervousness in that. She was acting. Moreover, he could see the outline of a string necklace on her. "Is that really you? I am a big fan! I saw your fight, it was awesome!"
Olive-skinned, wavy dark hair and an oval, pouty face. This girl was Ava Ayala.

"Thank you, I appreciate it. But, may I come inside? I have business with you, White-Tiger." Enrique smiled.
Ava had frozen at first when he name-dropped her super-identity, however the next instant her body moved like lightning as her waist twisted and she planted her feet on Enrique's face.
Only to be blocked by his helmet that became visible, a twisting matrix of gold and white.
"I am not here to fight," Enrique informed in a soft voice but Ava attacked once again. She jumped in the air, in his face, and wrapped her legs around his neck, tightening her thighs around it as much as her strength allowed. But unlike she had expected, Enrique didn't even flinch, he rather raised a hand at Rogue to stop her from engaging.
"Your attacks don't hurt me," Enrique said. "Nice thighs, by the way."
"Now!" Ava ignored his remark and yelled, and as if waiting, a humanoid tigress jumped from inside the house, plunging herself onto Enrique and sending him flying as Ava was just fast enough to jump and dodge her helper’s attack.

"Grrr!"
Enrique, who's back had hit a tree and broke it, couldn't make a move as the tigress woman jumped on top of his lying figure, throwing her claws at his face— only for them to snap like sticks.

"Arrrggh!" The woman growled in pain.
Honestly… these two couldn’t really harm him. So he decided to be gentle since he wasn't here to beat them but rather ask for a favour.
"I am not here to fight." Enrique tried with this woman, however, she only raised her fist in the air.
"Like hell you are not!" Then she threw a punch at Enrique's chest. “Did they send you?!”
It hurt, he wouldn't lie. Punches and other physical attacks—any blunt hit in general—hurt even through his super suit. However, not nearly as much as it should (given her one blow broke a tree) yet he was fine.
As a minute passed of him staying idle, trying to make her understand that he indeed did not want to fight— he got bored since she didn't show any signs of stopping, even though her knuckles were red. Then, not planning to get punched like this nonstop and forever, Enrique started to transform.
His body convoluted, his muscle grew, and his physical structure became larger. He controlled the urge to bring out his wrist and elbow claws, they were too lethal, and just somehow managed to keep them away. Tigra stopped punching him, paused, as she looked down as his beastial face glaring at her.
"Done?" he said, his voice gruff and sounding angry even though he wasn’t really angry, as his hands gently grabbed her waist. "Then it's my turn."
Without a moment's notice, Enrique threw her back to where she came from—the building—as she crashed into it, breaking so many things inside it, but Enrique didn't stop there. He jumped forward, grabbed Ava who was fighting Rogue (who had started fighting despite his warning) and threw her behind Tigra, making them collide as they moaned in pain
The two women broke their own houses as they hit the fridge, TV, and some furniture, breaking them all into pieces.
Tigra was the only one to rise back to her feet. She looked down on Ava’s groaning form and snapped her neck back at Enrique with an angry glare before rushing forward once more and trying to kick him in the face.
The kick did land on Enrique’s helmet, and he was indeed thrown back a few meters, but he wasn’t exactly hurt. He prepared himself as the tigress ran to him, but far more flexible and trained she may be— a tigress could never beat a tiger. He managed to dodge her attack only once after a furrow of getting punched continuously (resulting in nothing), and that dodge was all the opportunity Enrique needed to grab her shoulder and slam his head against hers.
-Bang!
“Argh!”
The woman groaned, trying to resist and fight back, but Enrique kept head-butting her, at last throwing her up in the air and landing an upper-cut on her sharp chin. With that, the beast-female’s eyes spun and she fell to the floor unconscious.
Rogue ran inside the house when she noticed the battle had ended.
"Enri- Supernova!" Rogue corrected herself as she ran to him. "Are you alright?"
"As it turns out, yes." he replied, ignoring her and moving to grab the two girls with each of his hands. They had fallen unconscious. "Told you not to engage, but oh well. Come here and touch them both. It's better to have them become powerless temporarily than let them throw a taunt when they wake up."
“Okay, but… is it okay for a hero to do this, sugah? Isn’t this, like, some sort of crime?” Rogue asked even as she walked towards the two women.
“Depends on your perspective,” Enrique shrugged. “I don't see myself as a superhero, so doing this isn’t morally countering to me— you on the other hand did call me your superhero, so I guess your question makes sense.”
Rogue shrugged as she took off her gloves. “Oh well, it doesn't matter. If it's a crime, I am your accomplice, and I don't exactly regret it.”
Crouching down, she touched Tigra, causing veins to pop-up in the woman’s sleeping face, her body color changing to that of a normal human’s while Anna’s body transformed into that of a humanoid-tigress. Then she touched Ava. Though White-Tiger's powers were Magical, she managed to absorb it as well, this didn’t show any physical change.
