Chapter 21: Scythe Of Souls (Side Story)
"Are you sure that this is the last village?" A hooded figure asked, perched high above the ground on a tree branch. She watched the village in the distance, an orange glow and smoke wafting from it. There was no one around her, as only the chirping of insects and the hooting owls replied.
"Indeed." A gruff, deep voice responded back. The voice came from her right hand, holding a massive black scythe which stood a meter tall with blue highlights. The base of the dark scythe's blade shook, and made a squelching noise. A large, single red eye with a single gold slit for its pupils stared at her.
"Is this necessary?" She asked again, shifting her posture into something more comfortable.
"If you want to grow stronger." It cooed. The red eye stared at her, waiting for a reply.
Eventually, the girl sighed. "Alright." She held up her free hand and summoned her status.
