Chapter 34: Awakened Bloodline

"Ugh..." Charlotte groaned as the light began seeping back into her world. Her head hurt like crazy, as everything was so blurry. 

"Kid! Kid, you awake?" A gruff voice said above her. 

"Yeah..." She managed to sit herself up by the carriage walls. 

She remembered seeing something about [Racial Evolution]... and...

Her hand was wiped against something wet. 

"Kid, I don't know what in the hells happened to you but you suddenly started leaking blood all over the place." The man said, worried. Charlotte looked down, the entire carriage was soaked in still-wet blood. Despite that, she seemed even healthier than before.

"I-..." 

"It's fine, as long as your alright." The carriage creaking, he left and returned to the driver's seat. "Just make sure you have a good story ready for how you got an entire carriage bloodied." Charlotte felt the carriage started moving again.

Charlotte took a moment to process what the hell happened. First, she had to solve that blood issue.

Grasping Masamune, she touched the still-wet blood. Most of it was immediately absorbed, although the ones that had dried were stuck like little scabs. Surprisingly, she didn't get a level-up message for bonding, maybe the blood on the ground wasn't from battle. 

"Now..." She brought up her singular unseen notification.
