Fish's sudden appearance in the sky frightened them greatly.

But before they could steer their brooms to catch Fish, they realized that, instead of falling quickly, Fish was falling slowly like a feather.

Everyone was relieved.

Even the first years, like Harry and Ron, had seen Professor McGonagall and Fish use the levitation spell at the opening ceremony, so they weren't too suspicious.

But just in case, they all gathered around Fish and slowly descended to the ground with him.

Hedwig also landed, stood on Harry's shoulder and pecked his hair in greeting.

Immediately after landing, Fish started looking for the balls that had been flying in the sky, "Where are those balls? Bring them in" ?(Φ▽Φ)?

After not seeing them, Fish took out the bag he used to keep food in and took a handful of candy from it, "I'll trade you for food!"

"Thanks, but we don't need it," Captain Wood stepped forward, smiling as he shoved the snacks into Fish's hands.

"You'd like to play with the balls, wouldn't you?", Wood grinned as if he'd found a treasure, "But these are Quidditch balls, you can only play with these balls if you're on a Quidditch team... Do you know what Quidditch is?".

Hadn't Professor McGonagall rejected his plan earlier because Fish was unruly and not interested in Quidditch?

Well, if he could get Fish interested in Quidditch, and gradually accept the rules of Quidditch, in a year or two, he would have another strong player on the team, and with Fish and Harry hand in hand, he would win the Quidditch Championship in no time!

Wood was quick to come up with a plan the moment Fish appeared, and immediately set his plan in motion to lure him in.

He was always especially perceptive when it came to matters concerning the Quidditch team.

The rest of the team immediately picked up on their captain's idea, and although they looked at Wood with disdain, they didn't stop him.

Who wouldn't want to play with Fish if they had the chance?

"I know," nodded Fish, "It's a game of who throws the ball better." said Fish as he gestured twice in the air (●ΦωΦ●)?

"Well...you're not wrong to say that...," said Wood.

As much as Wood wanted to talk to Fish about the specific rules of Quidditch, it was more important to get Fish on the team first, so he resisted the urge and continued to ask with a cheerful face, "So, Fish, are you going to join the Quidditch team? So we can play together"

"No, meow!", Fish flatly refused.

"Why...why not?", Wood gaped, no matter what he thought, there was no reason for Fish to refuse.

"You have bad intentions!", Fish bared his teeth and then lifted his little head proudly, "Fish is smart, you can't fool me, meow!"

Fish felt no ill will on Wood's part, the only reason he refused was because after making peace with Professor McGonagall, Fish had looked through the Quidditch rule book and the amount of text and the number of "forbidden" words in it had instantly made him lose interest in Quidditch.

"I'm not lying to you!" Wood averted his gaze sheepishly, then straightened up and argued, "These balls can only be used if you're on the House Quidditch team!"

"I'm not playing then, Meow," Fish turned his head and walked away.

He wasn't going to remember all the rules, he couldn't even play with a ball!

Seeing Fish turn back into a cat and jump on Hedwig, he walked away, the three Slayers on the team immediately looked at Wood.

"How about letting Fish play with the ball?  It won't interfere with our training," Alicia Spinnett folded her arms, wide-eyed, and blathered.

"Even if Fish doesn't want to join the Gryffindor team, you can let him be our training partner!", Angelina Johnson interjected with seemingly sensible, but really unlikely rhetoric.

It was unlikely that Fish, who had no interest in the rules of Quidditch, would stay with them as a training partner.

Not to be outdone, Katie Bell joined in the chorus of criticism against Wood: "And you trying to trick Fish into joining the team, that's outrageous!".

At this point, they had forgotten about their silent prayers that Wood would succeed in persuading Fish.

In addition to the three women, the twins, who had always had their eye on Angelina, also came to the rescue.

"That was a very bad thing to do, Wood," George accused earnestly.

As Fred quipped aside, "As punishment, how about resigning as captain?"

As Wood was besieged by a group of housemates, Fish, who had gone off with Hedwig, crept back.

'If you don't give me the ball, can't I get it myself?' Fish, in cat form, hid in the grass at the edge of the field and thought smugly.

Fish had no fear of being told by Professor McGonagall to complain that the ball was stolen from them.

The loud man (Wood) had just goaded him into riding a broom, and if Minerva found out, she wouldn't be amused either!

Angelina and the girls didn't have much time to complain about Wood, after all, they knew he had done nothing wrong and let him off the hook after a bit of a tantrum.

When the three girls stopped ranting, the twins, who had been complicit, naturally calmed down as well.

So the group climbed back onto their flying brooms, intending to continue their training.

On the grass, Fish was ready to pounce, his hind legs stepping softly on the ground, his little buttocks wiggling, his green eyes almost full of black pupils, staring intently at a rectangular box at the edge of the field, where, most likely, the flying balls were hidden.

In fact, just as Fish had suspected, Wood, the only one not on a broom, walked over to the crate, picked up the quaffle and tossed it to Angelina, then opened the strap holding the bludgers. The two black bludgers immediately shot skyward in the direction of the group sitting on the brooms.

Since it was Harry's first day of training, and since Gryffindor training was at night, even though he had done well in the trials, Wood had not yet released the Snitch, but had thrown the golf balls instead.

As Wood mounted his flying broom and returned to throwing golf balls to coach Harry, Fish stepped off the grass and leaned cautiously into the box.

The Quidditch team was too engrossed in their training to notice that Fish had reappeared, so he made it to the crate without trouble, then placed his two little paws on the crate lid and gently pushed it up, opening a gap.

Fish reached out his paws and peered into the gap, touching something along the way, and then he heard a soft sound like a flying insect flapping its wings from inside the drawer.

With that sound, a tiny golden figure flew out of the hole Fish had opened, hovered in front of Fish for half a second, and then trying to fly up into the sky.

But Fish wasn't going to let it go so easily, as his body quickly curled up, followed by a strong kick from his legs, leaping up from the ground, his body stretched into the air, his left paw stretched out like lightning, slapping the Snitch right after it took off.

As soon as it landed, Fish bounced back up and held the Snitch tightly, as he opened his mouth and bit down on the Snitch's wings, holding it in his mouth as he looked up at the sky again, then quickly slipped out of the stadium.

In the sky, Harry and the others were focused on their training, and the darkness meant that none of them noticed that Fish had slipped away with the Snitch.

It wasn't until Wood and the twins had finished their training session and put the bludgers and quaffle in the crate that they realized, with a start....

"Where's the Snitch?!"
