Well, I never got accepted into the academy. I grew up thinking I was normal. I stopped dreaming about life as a magi.
It turns out I could do magic. Damn gatekeepers.

Now I'm having a blast, learning how to do spells while working at a magic/videogame store with this hot yet moody goth chick.
She's got a grudge against the academy too, so she's teaching me how to harness my magic and giving deep dives into all the magical lore I missed out on.

My life's never been more awesome. And we play video games after work. What could be better?

Did I mention I’m going on dates with another, more happy-go-lucky witch? She came into the store wearing a sailor outfit!
I'm pretty sure the goth is jealous, but there’s enough of me to go around, once she admits she loves working with me, of course.

Unfortunately, the word is spreading about a rogue mage blowing up abandoned farmhouses. Both the academy and the magi-police don't look kindly on unofficially-trained mages.

Let them come. I’ll show them what I can do.

But it begs the question; if I could do magic, why didn’t they accept me all those years ago? What were they afraid of?
