Shaking their heads, the true demons were thinking ‘No, it can’t be the place’ as they followed Vulcan.
However, as if he was acting in exact opposite way to their thinking, Vulcan quickly surveyed the true demons that tailed him, and went into the bookstore.
As they were determined to follow Vulcan until they ascertained the information on the hunting ground, they followed Vulcan in to the store after a brief hesitation.
It was because they all thought that Vulcan could play a trick and try to lose them in the store.
It could be that he actually went into the bookstore to buy something, but they thought that that was highly unlikely.
As they have just recently witnessed, Vulcan who just went into the bookstore was a high skilled individual with the achievement levels which any one with the ordinary skill levels couldn’t even dream of.
They couldn’t understand that such a powerful one was taking the time to visit the bookstore to purchase a skill to begin with.
Those true demons that were able to reach Naraka had overwhelmingly superior capacities than the ordinary demons, and they also held their own individually unique skills, as well.
Someone with that bastard’s skill level would certainly have mastered wonderful skills which were comparable to the ones sold at the bookstore, they thought.
Of course, if one was able to train and learn the many different, available skills at the bookstore until their hearts content, they would not have any reservations, however, as the price of the books which were sold there were unfathomably high that most of the true demons couldn’t even dream of it.
As a result, rather than investing in skills when they had money, the true demons of Naraka ordinarily thought that investing in equipment was much better allocation of money.
However, as if to thumb his nose at them, Vulcan was at the checkout counter where there was a bookstore NPC as if he has already picked out the books he was looking for.
The bookstore NPC, which looked similar to a little demon, put on an artificial smile and welcomed Vulcan, and immediately after that, a prerecording like voice flowed out of his mouth.
– Hello. Thank you for visiting the Naraka’s bookstore. You can purchase diverse knowledge on magic, martial arts, incantation, curse, and many others. The current best sellers are the required readings for apprentice true demons in unifying the demon world, required readings for invading the human world by the apprentice true demons, creating portal to quickly travel to the human world…..
“Enough. This is what I want to buy.”
Vulcan placed the book on the counter by tossing a voluminous book.
The NPC examined the title of the book chosen by Vulcan, and putting on a sales smile, he read it out loud.
– You are wishing to purchase ‘hell sword’, the highest magic available in the ‘ordinary magic’ section. Is that correct?
As his reply was meant for only Vulcan who stood right before him, the voice of the NPC was not that loud.
However, the true demons who followed Vulcan did not have any trouble hearing him, and they couldn’t help, but be awed once again as they looked at Vulcan.
‘I just thought, could it be….But, did not anticipate that he would pick hell sword which was at the most expensive end of the book in the bookstore……’
‘Alright. If it is hell sword then….I can see why he even came to the bookstore. Anyone who uses sword wants to learn this magic, at least, once in their lifetime. The issue is that it is uniquely expensive, even by the standards of this crazily expensive bookstore…..’
‘It’s certain! That bastard must have located the dungeon which has never been discovered by anyone else, until now! If not, how did he collect enough money to buy the hell sword!’
Everyone was having this exact same thought.
Up until just a moment ago, if they were making uneducated guess by saying ‘may be possible to do that….’, but now, the true demons were sure that Vulcan has indeed discovered a new hunting ground.
They all leered at Vulcan with covetous and greed filled eyes, and hoped that Vulcan would pay for it and quickly move again to the hunting ground.
However, that wasn’t the end of it.
Thud.
Thud.Thud.Thup.
“And these also. That comes out to a total of 2,803,729,000…. Correct?”
“What the heck!”
“What?”
As the unfathomable amount of price was vocalized by Vulcan, the true demons let out rough voices to one another, even without themselves knowing it.
It was because the number ‘2.8 billion’ was uttered, they were all driven by acutely growing emotions.
They looked at the bastard thinking that perhaps, he was just kidding with the NPC, but a few of them thought curious as to what kind of books he has chosen, such that only five books would cost that much money.
And the bookstore NPC replied in courteous manner, so that their curiosity could be answered.
– You are wishing to additionally purchase volcano explosion, hell king arrival, summoning the hunting dog of hell, the house of demon god which are the highest level of magic from the ‘ordinary magic’ section. Is that correct?
There was again a big stir inside the bookstore.
In addition to the true demons which followed Vulcan, the true demons that were already in the bookstore were awed as well, at this time, as they turned their attention to Vulcan.
Who the heck is that guy anyway, how long did he stay in Naraka such that he could have collected that much money, did he actually collect money, perhaps, he is just joking to make fool of everyone.
As all the true demons were confused as their heads were filled with such thoughts, there came a low voice from Vulcan.
“Hm, right.”
“…..!”
“And this is the payment.”
Kwaaaang!
There dropped down huge twenty nine boxes from Vulcan’s inventory.
The true demons were dumbfounded by the incredible booming sound as if the floor was going to drop, and oblivious to that, the bookstore NPC approached the boxes, making tapping sounds as he moved.
Then without any expression in his eyes, he quickly surveyed the contents then nodding, he said to Vulcan.
– The amount has been verified. Thank you.
“Good.”
“……”
With the exception of the bookstore NPC and Vulcan, no true demons could open their mouths.
The unbelievable event that just took place right before their eyes was very uncomfortable, yet very true.
That event was so shocking that it even paralyzed their sense of speech.
Everyone who gathered there were powerful and horrifying demons which were able to act as minimally a demon king, or something similar.
Although they would be restrained by the power of gods in the human world, they lived with the highest pride, believing that they were greater than anyone else, at least in the demon world.
However, what they just witnessed was a scene in which someone purchasing something so expensive for which they could not even dream of making a purchase, let alone buying five of them, at the same time.
All those true demons who witnessed it stared at Vulcan as they were engulfed by the burning desire and hostility.
They felt the strong urge to immediately tear up that bastard’s body and blow up his head, had there not been the Naraka’s rule.
That congregation of suffocating group of evil ones emitted the hideous and disgusting energy toward Vulcan.
However, it could not give any type of notable threat to Vulcan who was already used to fear and vexation as he had experienced a countless repetitions of deaths by Kaozinta.
Nonchalantly, he collected the five skill books and walked out of the bookstore, and fluttered by that, the demons slowly bit their lower lips and followed behind Vulcan.
They could not cause harm on the bastard in the open, and as they needed to ascertain the location of the hunting ground, all they could do was to quietly follow Vulcan as long as possible.
So, the true demons intensely followed Vulcan until he retired to his sleeping quarter for the night, and they took camp there to wait and watch for him to come out, again.
However, even after one, two, three, ten days of passing, Vulcan did not come out of his quarter, and the one who created such a big buzz in Naraka has disappeared from the city, just like that.
**********
While the true demons waited for Vulcan to appear, Vulcan returned to Asgard, having quietly left Naraka by using the system.
He had already ascertained all the benefits that he could in the demon mode, anyway.
Having reached 1,384 level, he felt that the effectiveness would drop by simply remaining at the ‘temple of Shaman Sect’ where the main characters were made up of 1,300’s level monsters, and he wasn’t feeling confident about deceiving the eyes of the true demons which were tailing him, either.
On top of that, as he had expected, the notification, indicating that the next quest will support ‘god mode’ had popped up, he was able to exit without any regrets.
‘I’m not sure how much longer I can get the nectar of Naraka….I’m feeling that the next quest would be the final one. By that time, I should be able to definitely end Rock Seager, and be able to grow to the point that the highest god would approve of me?’
Vulcan was resting in Asgard as he thought, but without much clear evidence for his thoughts.
Suddenly, he rose up and went to the training place for the gods in Act 3, and he tested out the skills that he has obtained in Naraka, one by one.
Whirrrrl.
First, Vulcan executed hell king arrival, which endows fire type buff as close to the thunder god’s energy level, and after summoning up the energy of his main weapon, the lightning sword, he used it by overlapping it with the hell sword.
Whirrrrrl!
The flame energy grew to the point of not showing any inferiority to the thunder and lightning which overwhelmed with a powerful presence.
Having seen that, Vulcan had a satisfying smile on his face.
It was the same mastery skill as the SSS level lightning and fire, but he couldn’t deny the fact that it had been closer to thunder and lightning than flame, in the past.
Also, the ‘lighting sword of the thunder’, the weapon he held, was specialized in lighting and thunder such that he felt the greater difference.
However, thanks to the ascertained flame skills in demon mode, the gap could mostly be filled.
As such, the damage caused by the lightning sword has increased from prior to learning hell king arrival and hell sword skills, and Vulcan’s battle power could also be viewed as having grown stronger.
However, it wasn’t without any problems.
Vulcan let out a groan as he held the lightning sword.
“Krrrrr….”
It has become more challenging to control the lightning sword which now had much stronger energy than before.
Of course, the situation has improved with the 1 year of training, yet it was too much to maintain the current condition for a prolonged amount of time.
Ultimately, he used the house of the demon god skill which he had paid a lot of money to purchase.
Boooowooong.
As soon as the house of the demon god skill which endows incredible stability in managing the demon power was invoked, his condition improved markedly fast.
Vulcan nodded his head as he opened the skill window then he, again, read the explanation on the house of the demon god skill.
Despite the fact that the word demon-god was used, it was a mysterious skill which was executed by pure demon power, rather than demon energy used by the ordinary demons.
Initially, due to that irony, he grew curious as to the demon god’s identity.
However, since the senior gods, including Hoculus, did not know about it, he has been simply thinking that it must be ‘the ultimate god of the demons’.
‘Not sure why the skill created by a demon god is executed by using demon power…. Gosh, my focus was almost lost.’
Focusing his mind, once again, Vulcan concentrated on managing the demon power.
Although he was getting the help from a scam skill of ‘the house of demon god’, he still could not be careless.
It was because the skill which he was about to execute was extremely difficult that he has never been successful with it, even with the support of the house of the demon god.
He let out a long breath as he raised the sword with the determination that he will succeed in this skill, this time.
His condition was better than the usual days, and as there weren’t any eventful incidents in the lower world, he was rather relaxed as well.
The situation was perfect for successfully executing his new skill.
Vulcan put a spell on himself like that, and he added one more skill to the ones which he has been using, so far.
In some sense, it was similar to the explosion skill which created strong power by detonating nearby sparks.
However, it was the skill, depending on the understanding level of the magic power and skill, even greater damage could be dealt.
It was the moment the lightning sword, the skill which Vulcan kept his eyes on the most since he had entered the bookstore, was being executed.
Vulcan’s sword was swung with incredible speed.
The lightning sword of the lightning and thunder was swung with an incredible speed as if it had jumped the dimension of time.
The lightning sword’s energy emitted out at the speed of light.
At the moment it collided with the target, the mountain summit of Act 3, with which the world was introduced to the awesome destructive power.
Kwaaaang!
The booming sound felt as if it could even move the earth’s axis.
And the awesome power that was powerful enough to delete the mountain summit of Act 3 which boasted incredible hardness.
Vulcan, who appeared to have created a scene of an actual volcano explosion, plopped down to the ground as he was drained of energy.
However, the smile that was formed on his face was telling it all.
That was, the telling of the first successful execution of the ‘depth thunder sword’, the skill he, himself, has created.
