“So I’m sorry to ask you this Thomas, but can you help me and your Grandpa break this damned curse?”

Sitting in silence after hearing the hidden truth of the Transcendental path, Thomas stared blankly at Lilly while trying to comprehend everything he had just learned.

“What do I need to do to help?”

“For a minute there I thought you might not help me, but this is good. To start off, you need to start learning internal energy techniques as soon as possible. How close are you to learning how to use the Foundations of Heaven and Earth from Jin Tang?”

“Uhmmm about that. I’m not learning it from Jin Tang himself since Sung Ho still needs to go through more physical training, but I’m currently being taught the history of cultivation by two martial artists from the Shaolin Temple.”

“So you’ll be learning cultivation techniques relatively soon then? That's good, have they told you how long until you start?”

“Roughly a week until I start learning the basics.”

“That’s not fast enough, screw it, I'm going to teach you mine and Grandpa’s cultivation technique tomorrow when we go up there.”

“Did you forget about the time dilation mom? By tomorrow I'd have already started learning the Foundations of Heaven and Ear- wait, so I'll be learning both techniques at once?”

“No, by the time we reach Grandpa’s tomorrow you’d have already established a dantian using the slow method, so you’ll be able to learn whichever cultivation technique you want afterward.”

“Alright, and before we exit the Transcendental path, is there any way I can control how many days I spend in the dreams? Because those headaches I get when I switch between worlds are extremely painful.”

“You haven’t figured out how to control the time you spend in the dreams yet? All you have to do before going to sleep is think of how many days you want to spend in the memories, then you’ll stay in the memories until however many days you set are up or your body is desturbed in some way in the real world.”

“So that’s why I didn’t wake up in the real world after I went to sleep! I had thought of staying in the memories for two days so I could get more training in!”

“Alright, now that this conversation is over, let's go back to the real world.” Lilly said as she clapped her hands again, causing the blank world around them to collapse in on them until Thomas’s room became visible again.

“Wait, how long did we spend in the Transcendental path?”

“It’s been thirty seconds or so since we entered the Transcendental path. Now let’s go back to dinner, and don’t mention a word of what we said to your dad.”

“Alright.” Thomas replied as he followed Lilly out of his room and back towards the kitchen table.

After sitting back down at the table and beginning to eat their food again, David suddenly set his fork down and asked.

“What did you have to talk about? Whatever it was must have been of no importance that could have been said in front of me.”

“Oh, I’m sorry dear, I just wanted to make sure that Thomas knew not to touch the edge of a sword that he hadn’t seen before, but he showed me where he touched it, so I didn’t have to explain.”

“Well alright, let’s just enjoy the rest of our dinner, shall we?” David said as he picked up his fork again and began eating his dinner again.

---

After sitting through the rest of dinner in silence, Thomas got up from the table and walked towards the sink with his empty plate in hand.

“Thomas, make sure you go to bed early tonight. We have to leave for Grandpa and Grandma’s house as soon as possible.” Lilly said as she winked at Thomas with a serious expression.

“Yeah, I’ll go to sleep now actually, I’m still pretty tired from how chaotic today was.” Thomas replied as he let out a long yawn before walking out of the kitchen and towards his room.

Once Thomas entered his room and closed his door behind him, he let out an exhausted sigh as he jumped onto his bed.

After landing on his bed, Thomas looked at his alarm clock to the right of his bed and read the time.

6:48 pm.

‘Wait, since it’s only six-forty-eight pm, I can spend roughly twelve days in the memories of Myeol Mang!’ Thomas thought as he look up at the ceiling of his room and slowly let his eyes drift into darkness.

---

As Myeol Mang slowly opened his eys while his head rested on the wooden table of the study room, he overheard two people talking next to him.

“See, I told you he wasn’t fit to learn martial arts! He passed out after reading only one page! What do you see in him?!”

“What I see in him, is a potential so great, that his body grows on its own, even during sleep. I’ve seen this happen three times during the two day’s he’s been staying here. Every time Myeol Mang passes out like this he wakes back up with the energy to continue whatever he was doing last for hours on end.”

“So what you’re saying is that letting him sleep is a good thing? Rather than studying martial arts or internal energy, or honing his body further, the best thing he can do is sleep?”

“Exactly, and if you do not want me to say that you and Han Soo-Hyun abandoned me after all the help I’ve given the Shaolin Temple in the past to your master. Then you will continue teaching Myeol Mang the way I want you to teach him. Understood?”

Suddenly noticing that Myeol Mang’s body was breathing differently from before, Jin Tang walked up to Myeol Mang’s body which still rested upon the table.

“Myeol Mang, I know you were spying on our conversation, so just get up.” Jin Tang said in a cold tone as if trying to scare Myeol Mang.

After realizing that he had been found out, Myeol Mang pushed himself off the table and into a standing position then turned to face Jin Tang.

“I apologize master, I merely wanted to let you finish your conversation.”

“It’s of no importance Myeol Mang. Anyways, return to studying those books. Just because you’re talented doesn’t mean that you can ignore the basic things like studying, training your martial arts, honing your internal energy and so on.” Jin Tang said as he started walking towards the room’s door with a book in his hand.

“Master Tang, where are you going?” Shik Ja-Kyung asked, still flabbergasted by the Jin Tang’s threat.

“I still have to train Sung Ho, so you stay here and continue teaching Myeol Mang what I have asked you to teach him.” Jin Tang said as he opened the door and walked out of the room.

After watching Jin Tang leave the room, Myeol Mang became confused as to why he had taken one of the three books he was supposed to study.

“Uhmmm, Shik Ja-Kyung, why did Master Tang take one of the books I was supposed to study?”

“First off, Myeol Mang, I would like to apologize. I lied to you when I said you had three books to study. You only need to learn the basics of internal energy book before I teach you how to use the Foundations of Heaven and Earth breathing method.” Shik Ja-Kyung said as he got down onto his knees and bowed to Myeol Mang.

“So I only have to know the basics of internal energy and how the seven realms are different from each other?” Myeol Mang asked as he turned to the table and sat back down.

“That…. Would be correct, Myeol Mang. Are you upset with me for lying to you?”

“There’s nothing to be upset about, you made a mistake and have paid for it. Now get up, it’s pathetic seeing someone older bow to someone younger after making a mistake.” Myeol Mang said as he flipped open the Basics of Internal Energy book and started reading.

“Okay, I’ll be sitting down over here, so tell me when you finish reading the book Myeol Mang.” Shik Ja-Kyung said as he grabbed one of the spare chairs and moved it to the back right corner of the room.

After waiting for Shik Ja-Kyung to stop talking to him, Myeol Mang focused on the Basics of Internal Energy books third page called “The Lower Dantian.”

-The Lower Dantian, located in the stomach, is the main location for qi storage though breathing techniques, and acts as the main source of energy when using martial arts. Everyone is able to establish a lower dantian if taught properly, however the potential for martial arts and internal energy within their body might limit the speed of establishing the lower dantain.

-There are three known methods of establishing a lower dantian. The first, is the fast route, in which during the breathing technique, the user collects qi from their surroundings which have impurities and take up a large amount of space. Creating a rather large dantian with great speed. However, the only advantage of this method is its fast growth. As the impurities in the internal energy will make the flow of energy within your body’s meridians rugged and slower than it normally would.

-The Second, is the slow route, in which during the breathing technique, the user collects qi above a certain level of purity and in some cases, they only collects the purest of qi which takes up barely any space. Creating a small yet extremely powerful dantian at a rather slow pace. However, with how small the dantian is the speed of which your dantain will increase will be severely limited, forcing the user to start off weaker than others around them. Though the purity of the qi makes up for this since its flow within the body’s meridians will be faster than it normally would depending on the purity of the qi
