“Well then, you’ll be shocked to hear that everyone, every Demonic Cult member, Mi Yeon, Sung Ho, Jin Tang, Seok Hwan, Seo Jun. They’re all alive right now, and they’re alive when you leave the memories. Myeol Mang, these memories are not as simple as you think.”

Myeol Mang sat in silence trying to process what his master had just told him.

Tink, tink, tink, tink…!

“I…. What…?”

“You heard me properly, every single person in the memories I’ve constructed for you is alive. And they always have been.”

“All of them are alive? Even Mi Yeon and Sung Ho?”

“Yes, all of them are alive.”

“How is that even possible?! They’re all just figments of your memory right? How can they be alive when they’re just a memory?!”

“Because they’re not just memories. Sure they were memories when I created them in the Transcendental Path, but from the moment you awoke in this world I gave everyone their own life. And I did that because after seeing your memories as Thomas Smith, I realized that you only care for those who are alive.”

“If they’re all alive, where are they? On another planet? In the past? Another dimension?”

“We’re on another planet, Myeol Mang. An exact replica of Earth in another galaxy with the right conditions to have life.”

“So every time I enter the memories, I’m traveling to another planet that’s an exact replica of Earth, lightyears away from the real Earth? And everyone on this planet is alive unlike how I thought? Shit, no wonder I felt so nervous around Mi Yeon! She’s an actual girl, not just a memory!”

“So let me ask you again. Do you care about your father being enslaved by the Demonic Cult? Or the death that will come when the month is up and the Demonic Cult raids this place?”

“Shit, I don’t know yet, I need to think about this.”

“Well, you’ve flattened all of the chunks, so take a break and think. And besides, you’re not going to forge an entire sword in a day, so take your time while thinking.”

Watching as Myeol Mang walked out of the Forge to get some air, the original Myeol Mang then let out a heavy sigh.

‘I’m glad I made the decision to turn Thomas’s version of the memories into a real world. I didn’t want to tell him yet, but I was going to be forced to tell him later so it’s not that big of a deal.’

---

‘Fuck, everything here is real?! A few things are starting to make sense now! Being nervous around Mi Yeon, my body changing to match this one, how the time keeps going after I leave the ‘memories’ as I called them. Shit, even the metal forging process was pretty much the same as a Katana’s forging method!’

As Myeol Mang let out another heavy sigh he began to walk towards the main hall.

‘Wait, are my version of the memories the only ones that have an entire world to itself? Or are there other worlds out there for my mom and grandpa?’

As Myeol Mang continued to think while walking towards the main hall, a sudden voice came from behind him.

“Myeol Mang. How are you?”

“Oh, hey Sang Chul. I’m doing good, how are you?”

“I’m doing alright, though I’m actually rather nervous for when Sung Ho starts his martial arts training with me.”

“Here, I was about to go grab some lunch. Do you want to join me so we can discuss this?”

“Yes, I’d like that. And maybe I can give you a couple of tips on your blacksmithing as well?”

“Yeah I’d like that.” Myeol Mang replied as he gestured to Sang Chul to follow him towards the main hall.

‘This will be a good test to see if Master was lying or not. If he wasn’t lying… Well, I’m not sure what I’m going to do.’

After entering the main hall and finding an open table for him and Sang Chul to sit at, Myeol Mang and Sang Chul waited until a servant arrived at their table.

“What would you like to have for lunch today, Master Mang, Master Chul?”

“I’d like some chicken as usual.”

“I’ll take a bowl of rice with pork.”

“Alright, I’ll be back with your food soon.”

Watching as the servant left, Myeol Mang then spoke.

“So, Sang Chul. Why are you nervous about teaching Sung Ho martial arts?”

“Well, it’s mainly because I’ve never taught anyone martial arts before, I’ve only been taught them so I don’t exactly know how to teach someone how to do something.”

“That’s what you’re worried about? Alright Sang Chul, listen, Sung Ho is smart and he knows his body’s limits, so if you teach him how to do the basics he’ll understand how to perform the techniques later on. And your experience in teaching doesn’t matter, if you explain to him in a simple fashion on how to do a certain movement, or help him along with the movement he’ll be able to learn it easier.”

“I’m more concerned about myself than Sung Ho. I feel like I’ll accidentally teach him how to perform the technique wrong and he’ll end up hurting himself.”

“Well then, let’s start with the root of the problem. Why do you feel like you’ll teach Sung Ho wrong when you offered to give me tips on my blacksmithing?”

“Because I’m confident in terms of blacksmithing, but in martial arts I’ve never been sure of myself since I had to teach myself how to use the spear.”

“So you doubt your martial abilities because you’re self taught, or rather, you doubt your abilities since you’ve never had anyone praise you for your accomplishments.”

“You… Could say that’s why I’m worried, yes.”

“Sang Chul, do you know how stupid you sound right now?”

“Huh? How do I sound stupid?”

“Sang Chul, look at the martial artists of the past. Did they have teachers to teach them how to do every little thing? Did they have a master to praise them if they did something right? No, they didn’t, so why are you any different? Master Tang picked you to be one of his disciples because your talent would have gone to waste if he didn’t, that shows that you have the talent to not only do good in terms of martial arts, but also in teaching.”

“I…. Wow, what you said actually makes sense….”

“Of course it makes sense, It’s the truth. NOw, I think our food is about to be here.” Myeol Mang said as he turned around and looked at a servant bringing two plates towards their table.

“Here is your food, Master Chul, Master Mang. Is there anything else I can help you with?”

“Yes, can you get me and Sang Chul our usual drinks?”

“Will do, Master Mang.” Replied the servant as she turned and walked towards the kitchen.

“Now, Sang Chul, Can we discuss the blacksmithing help after we eat? Because I’m starving.”

“Sure.” Sang Chul replied as he and Myeol Mang began to eat their food.

---

“Ugghhh… Where… Am I?”

As the Demonic Cult spy sat up in his bed, a vvoice came from across the room.

“You have some nerve to come back to this place so soon, Ri Seung-Heon.”

Turning towards the direction of the voice, Ri Seung-Heon suddenly jumped out of bed and kneeled towards the man in the corner of the room.

“Squad Leader! I’m sorry for returning here when you told me not to. But I have a report that needs to get to his majesty the Heavenly Demon!”

“Tsk, if you weren’t on a mission for his majesty I would have killed you the second you set foot on these grounds. Now leave this place and go straight to the Heavenly Demon Palace. Your information is of utmost importance, so hurry.”

“What about my wounds?”

“I gave you a Healing Demon Pill, so your wounds are completely healed, and your internal energy has been replenished. Now go before I have to repeat myself again.”

“Yes Sir!” Ri Seung-Heon replied as he jumped off the floor and dashed out of the room.

‘He made it back from the Vanishing Demon’s palace alive with information about the survivors… A storm is starting to brew within the cult and only the strong are going to survive it.’

---

Setting down his bowl of rice, Sang Chul then asked.

“So, Myeol Mang. Is there anything you wanted to know about blacksmithing wise?”

“Actually about that, I already feel pretty confident about how my progress is going along for blacksmithing, so I was hoping to ask a different favor of you.”

“Oh? What is it?”

“Once I forge my sword, I would like to spar against you.”

“You want to spar against me? Why?”

“Well, it’s not like everyone in Jianghu is going to be a swordsmen, there are going to be countless people weilding unique and different weapons. So I want to prepare for some of those weapons by getting experince fighting them.”

“Ohhhh… So you’ve thought somewhat far ahead with this. Well, when the time comes I’d be glad to.”

“Thank you, Sang Chul. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go back to the Forge so I can continue making my sword.”

“Alright, good luck Myeol Mang.”

“You too, Sang Chul.”

“Oh and one more thing. Can you tell Seok Hwan I want to challenge him too? I would do it myself but I’m probably not going to leave the forge for a few days besides eating and sleeping.”

“Sure, I’ll make sure he knows.”

“Thank you again, Sang Chul.”

“No, thank you. Now go, you’re losing precious time on making that sword.”

A smile appeared across Myeol Mang’s face as he got up from the table and walked towards the main hall doors, yet his mind was anything but happy.

‘Shit! I could tell just from how Sang Chul was nervous that he was real! Master was right, every person on this planet is very real…’
