Rinnnnngggg!

Hearing the bell signaling the end of lunch ring, Thomas stood up off the courtyard grass and slung his bag over his shoulders before walking back to the cafeteria.

‘I definitely needed that, not being able to hear anything but my thoughts for once today felt really good.’ Thomas thought as he entered the cafeteria and began walking towards his sixth period class.

Yet as Thomas slowly walked through the crowd of students within the hallway, he noticed something strange.

‘It might just be me, but it feels like everyone is way slower than they used to be. And that’s saying something since they already walked slow as hell.’

Shrugging off the absurd slowness of the students' walking speed as him getting stronger, Thomas then slightly sped up his pace until he arrived at his sixth period class, P.E.

However after Thomas entered the gymnasium that held his sixth period class, his teacher, Mr. Adams, stopped him before he could sit down on the bleachers.

“Thomas, the principal wants you in his office as soon as possible. I’ve already marked you here for attendance so go now.”

“Ok-aaayyy, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then Mr. Adams.” Thomas replied as he began to walk out of the gymnasium.

“See you tomorrow Thomas.” Mr. Adams replied.

Thomas then walked through the less populated hallways until he reached the front office.

“Mr. Andersonwanted to see me.” Thomas said to the receptionist after walking up to her desk.

“Ah, Thomas. Yes he’s waiting for you in his office.” The receptionist replied before pressing a button on her desk that unlocked the staff office doors.

“Thank you.” Thomas said as he entered the staff office.

Thomas then walked towards the principal’s office and knocked on his door.

Thud! Thud!

“Mr. Anderson, may I come in?”

“Yes.”

Upon opening the door to the principal’s office, Thomas was greeted with the sight of a fairly muscular man dressed in an all blue suit with a jet black tie sitting across the desk from Mr. Anderson.

“Hello Mr. Anderson, what did you want to discuss with me?”

“Ah, Thomas, just the person I wanted to see. I would like you to meet Mr. Robinson, Elijah’s father.”

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Robinson.” Thomas said as he extended his hand towards him.

“Nice to meet you too Thomas.” Mr. Robinson replied as he accepted the handshake.

“Now, Thomas. I’ve called you here because Mr. Robinson has something he wishes to discuss with you.” Mr. Anderson said as Thomas sat in the chair next to Mr. Robinson.

“Mr. Robinson wants to discuss something with me?”

“Yes, I do. I’ll get right to the topic then. I’d like to apologize for my son’s actions for the past two years. I had no idea he was such a delinquent at school and was harming other students behind the school’s back.”

Thomas’s face then morphed from its regular happy look to a cold glare as his eyes constricted at Mr. Robinson.

“I’m not going to accept an apology from anyone but him and his friends, and as you, Mr. Robinson, are a father who just learned of his son’s actions, you’re not only trying to save his ass, but also your own ass from a lawsuit. So what do you really want?”

“Watch what you say, Thomas. Quit acting so prideful and just accept the apology so we can get this over with.” Mr. Anderson interrupted.

“No, he’s right. The first thing I thought of when you called me on Friday was the chance of Thomas’s and Carson’s families suing me, I can’t hide from that. So I’ll ask you this, what will it take for you to forgive Elijah for what he’s done and not sue my family?”

“I’m going to step outside for a moment to think about this.” Thomas said as he stood up out of his chair and left the room.

Thomas then sat down on the bench outside of Mr. Anderson’s office and let out a heavy sigh.

‘I could ask for anything I want from Mr. Robinson just to get Elijah off my back for the rest of my life. What do I want the most though?’

---

After watching Thomas leave the room and close the door behind him, Mr Anderson stood up from his chair and grabbed a bottle of water from the mini fridge in the corner of the room.

“Mr. Robinson, why would you give Thomas of all people that type of power over you?”

“Mr. Anderson, no matter what Thomas says he wants in return for not suing my family will not affect our deal.”

“But still, to give Thomas whatever he wants is crazy.” Mr. Anderson replied as he sat back down in his chair.

“So I should risk my son going to jail for several cases of assault upon numerous students instead? This is the better option for both of us, I assure you.”

“You don’t seem to understand Thomas’s way of thinking as I do. Thomas had obviously not planned on suing your family for Elijah’s actions.”

“How do you know that?”

“Because if he wanted to sue you, he would have done it already. But he waited and waited for two whole years, he could have sued you over a hundred times already, but he didn’t.”

“.....”

“Thomas wasn’t planning on suing your family to get Elijah off his and Carson’s backs, he was planning on blackmailing your family into doing whatever he and Carson wanted.”

“Oh…. I’ve made an egregious mistake then…”

Sigh… Yes you have, but there’s no going back now.”

“You’re right, Mr. Anderson.” Thomas said as he entered Mr. Anderson’s office once more.

“So, I assume you’ve come up with your answer, Thomas?”

“I have.”

“Then what is your request?”

“I have two requests, my first request is that I want to punch Elijah in the face just once. Second, I want to be repaid for all the medical bills my family had to pay because of Elijah.”

Sigh… Alright Thomas, when would you like to claim your first request? And how much do I owe your family in medical expenses?”

“As soon as possible. And I’m not sure about the exact cost as my father hasn’t told me the details about that, so you would have to discuss with him about being repaid.”

“Alright, how about this, I’ll bring Elijah over to your house tomorrow evening so we can get both requests out of the way at once?”

“That sounds good, and one more thing about my first request, I don’t want to hear you or him complain about it afterwards.”

“I understand, and thank you for being reasonable, Thomas.”

“You’re welcome, now if you’ll excuse me, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Robinson, I have to get back to class.” Thomas said as he stood up out of his chair again and left the office.

“Have a good day, Thomas.” Mr. Anderson replied as the office door clicked shut.

---

As Thomas opened the door to the gymnasium of his sixth period class, he was greeted by a dodgeball flying towards his face, which was easily caught with his left hand.

“Woah! Nice catch!” Mr. Adams said as Thomas tossed the ball back into the basketball court which was home to a game of dodgeball.

“Thanks. Which side can I join?” Thomas replied as he set his bag down on the bleachers.

“You want to play dodgeball? Usually you just sit on the bleachers and do classwork.”

“I don’t have any classwork to do today so I might as well have a bit of fun.”

“I can’t argue that, you can join the team on the right, they lost the first game that they played and it looks like they’ll lose this game as well.”

“Alright.” Thomas replied as he shrugged his shoulders and walked into the active game of dodgeball.

“Hey look! Thomas is playing dodgeball for once!” A student on the opposite side of the court yelled.

“He never plays dodgeball with us! He should be an easy target then!” Another student yelled as he threw a dodgeball at Thomas’s face.

But despite Thomas facing away from the dodgeball, he effortlessly dodged the speeding ball directed at his face before turning and facing the student who threw it.

“Do you wanna see why I didn’t join you guys in playing dodgeball before?!” Thomas yelled as he picked up a dodgeball off the floor and threw it at the student who had aimed at his face.

Wooosh!

“Kuakk!”

“That one hurt didn’t it, next time don’t aim at my face.”

Cough, cough…

“Hurry up off the court before you get hit again.” Thomas said to the injured student as he grabbed another dodgeball off the floor and threw it at another student, albeit not as hard as his previous throw.

However, as the student crawled off the court, more dodgeballs started being thrown at Thomas.

Wooosh!

Wooosh!

Yet despite the opposing team's best efforts, not a single dodgeball struck Thomas.

‘My turn.’ Thomas thought as he grabbed two dodgeballs off the floor and proceeded to throw them at two students.

However, after the two students got hit with the dodgeballs.

Rinnnnngggg!

“Alright everyone, just leave the dodgeballs where they are and go to seventh period! Thomas, stay here for a moment.” Mr. Adams yelled.

After grabbing his bag off the bleachers and waiting for the rest of the students to leave the gymnasium, Thomas walked over to Mr. Adams.

“You wanted to see me sir?”

“Yeah, what’s up with you today?”

“What do you mean?”

“You’re acting very weird today, first of all you got in trouble in your anatomy class when you rarely say a word in there when you don’t have to, then you took a nap in the courtyard in the blazing heat during lunch, then you got called down to the principal’s office and now you’re suddenly amazing at physical activities. What happened?”

“I got tired of everyone talking about me and thinking I’m weak, I got tired of holding back for other people’s sake. That’s what happened.” Thomas said with a spiteful glare in his eyes.
