Though the percentage of ferns within the forest might have been lower in comparison to the other undegrowths, they were a conspicuous member of the forest.

Her eyes follow the angelic man as Wu's steps towards her. In the given scenario, to her Wu came across as being an paragon of virtue, a divine being sent straight by God to rescue her from her inevitably inescapable context.

Like her centuries of devoted prayers had been answered at last in the most indjspendable period, right when she needed it the most. Trust the timing as they say, the amassed terror within her began to condense slowly as though a frozen glass had been exposed to bright sunlight that aimed to liquify the frosted object.

The wolf, however, only gnarls louder and she strives to shift herself away from it. But it snaps it's head towards her and she instantly terminates her attempts to escape.

The self-escape is not happening, it was well-understood by now.

She strives to swallow down the saliva down her dry throat and her gaze immediately falls upon Wu, he glances upon her momentarily before fearlessly advancing towards the savage wolf. His attitude towards it is unreservedly casual, his hands customarily in his trousers.

The way he saunters towards where she lay, leaves her mouth agape in disbelief. He was all so confident, not even the tiniest of consternation finds place on his face. She couldn't bring herself to believe how he could remain so indifferent in front of a ravage creature like that. Maybe he was familiar with animals as such, since he resided amidst the forest himself.

He stops before the enticing raven hide animal. Yue's iris dilate in a mix of dubiety and dread as he crouches right in front of the timbre wolf, one of his arms' lying perpendicular to his knee.

"Back off, Sable." Wu tilts his head commanding the animal, his tone is imperative. The daunting eye contact between the two renders Yue in utter shock. Neither willing to step back.

After what appears to be a perpetual stare, the wolf grunts as it recedes in its trace.

Glancing at her simultaneously as it falls back. Yue laid still transfixed by the chain of incomprehensible events. She doesn't move an inch as her eyes follow the retreating motion of the wolf.

She couldn't perceive how an enormous and wild wolf could follow his commands so mindlessly. Who was this guy she had a silent argument with? Was he the tarzan of the domain or what?

She flinches by the sudden humanly contact as she was preoccupied in her self terror and clouds of tangled thoughts. She turns her head sideways to observe Xuan Wu crouching beside her now instead of the wild creature. A congenial feeling of being secure and safe swept over her erstwhile distress.

"You okay?" she nibbles on her lower lip as she studied his face, was he furious at her for being in such a cumbersome situation of nearly being eaten? Or was he being genuinely heedful? It was hard to figure. At the end she left in a haste, without thinking over how he would have felt. And yet he was here, standing right beside her, holding out his hand to her. How could he be so amicable after her reckless demeanor?

"Hmm?" he hums again making her realize hat he was awaiting her response to his solicitous interrogation. So Yue nods her head promptly and he follows the act of nodding, comprehending her benumbed condition.

She again lowly flinches as his fingers graze the top of her belly moving over it to end up wrapping his hands around her waist. His free hand intertwines with one of hers as he picks up her fallen figure from the greasy floor. His hand doesn't leave her waist and she blankly stares at him. He tilts his head questionably and she blinks on revelation.

He wanted to ensure whether or not was she in her senses to perceive the happenings.

Meanwhile Yue was swooned over his sudden arrival as though of a prince rescuing her from amidst the melancholic war. His hands wrapped around her waist ignited unspecified bundles of feelings which she could attribute to be akin to butterflies fluttering all through her stomach near where his fingers touched her delicate skin.

Seeing his frozen stare at anticipating her approval her of being fine she was brought back to earth from her own sky castles thoughts. Her body jolted away from his careful grasp hesitantly and in a sudden haste to dust herself off as she walked to stand beside him, balancing her dizzy posture.

"T-Thank you." Yue is quick to criticize herself for the stutter as she tears her gaze away from his. Her cheeks recast a rouge pink as she reproves herself for her embarrassing rescue by the one she walked away from, saying she didn't need him or his help. Guess she wasn't as fierce and bold as she had taken herself to be.

Fighting off fellow humans with weapons at hand and rabid undeclared creatures amidst unknown environment were two very different things.. It was through this chilling experience Yue had come to realise how much she was in a dire need of being protected from the discreet harms and hazards of that world.
