"Only one day..." My arms hold my head watching the light rays coming from the spherical planet that looks like the moon I used to look at in my previous life.

"8 years..." I sighed closing my eyes.

*It has been so long before I reincarnated in this little body, I miss a little bit of my previous life, there are things that I loved to do, making people scared just by looking at them... I could do whatever I wanted but now I'm just some child, people don't take me seriously, children here respect and like me not like in my previous life where their mothers took them away when they just were glancing at me.*

"Heh..." My lips curl into a smile before hearing somebody knocking on the door.

It's a soft knock almost trying to be the most silent possible.

"Could it be Ava?" There are not many times she comes talking with me at this hour, well it used to be a lot more but her parents changed over time, they started abusing her somehow, all they want from their daughter is to continue the royal generation and by doing so they force her to marry some person, arranged marriages happen sometimes here, and the poor girls end up most of the time with some old men, though, I remember watching an arranged marriage some time ago and the man looked really nice.

I reach the door and open it to see Ava standing there in her pajamas, she looks sleep-deprived, dark heavy bags on her eyes making the dark blue and her golden hair a nice combination of colors.

She moves her thin arms and hands embracing me, "Can I enter?" She says with a voice that looked almost hollow and tired, just how many lectures and punishments did she get from her parents during this time?

"Yeah..." She steps around the room analyzing every single detail, almost looking as if something changed while she wasn't there.

I sit back on the bed waiting for her to come and sit together with me.

"You still keep it?" Ava glances at me waiting for me to respond.

"What?"

"The bracelet." She makes some steps toward me closing the large distance caused by the room.

I stare at the nothingness involuntarily thinking of what she means, after some seconds I remember the cold feeling coming from the object on my wrist.

"O-oh! Yes, I still have it." I smile at her showing off the bracelet.

The cold aura emanating from Ava vanishes before she closes her eyes and sighs out of relief, "I'm glad you didn't lose it."

Smiling warmly at her I recall something, "Do you need to ask me something or have you just come here to talk with me?" I ask her trying to not look cold.

"Yes... Sorry, I was curious.", she says.

I take her hands, "Don't worry."

"You need to win the tournament.", she continues, "If you win the tournament you will be given the choice to wish for something you want, you need to ask them to give you a new identity, the nobles that killed your family are probably searching you or imagined that you are dead, but you can't make yourself visible to the humans using your own identity."

"Why can't I stay here? Did I disturb your family somehow?" I ask her shocked from what she is saying.

"You're here thanks to me, remember the reason you are here? I wanted you to here with me, so that I had somebody that trained together with me and keep me company, they will use you to threaten me. Somewhere far away from here, you need to come back to your native land, the elves have less power there." Ava's eyes start to get wet but she still keeps talking containing herself, "Sonia... The disciple of Olivia, you need to keep attention to every movement made by her, I watched her training and..." She stops talking thinking of something, "Being honest... You have almost no possibility of winning the tournament." Her body trembles as if she is remembering something that terrified her.

"W-what do you mean?" I mutter.

"She could annihilate me, she is too strong..."

"I will win!" I grab her shoulders and almost yell to her trying to keep her calm.

She looks at me shocked and a bit surprised, "But I... Don't want to leave you here."

Ava smiles before hugging me, "You need to run after you win it, I will keep on my own but if they take you... I will be their doll, looking at people hurting you makes me want to defend you but at the same time they have more possibilities to beat me." She sobs, "So, Elizabeth... We can't run away together, they can find me anytime they want, that time when you saved me it was because they still had to give the order to search for me, but you found me first, after that time I always admired you, that one time you beated that noble and the various times you defended me... The only way to thank you is to give you the possibility to run away from here.

"But..."

"There are no buts, you will get out of here as soon as you can, if you will not win the tournament I will help and make you run away."

She grips my hands tighter.

No matter what happens...We'll always be friends...

The sun's rays light the room and make my tired eyes open.

*I didn't get any sleep this night... And the tournament starts today!!*

"Damnit!" I rush to my closet and wear some clothes, my eyes dart to the dark cape I waited to use for the tournament, the good thing it's that it will absorb every bit of mana that will try to attack me.

I stop as I think of what happened yesterday night, "Ava..."

I shook my head and continue to dress up for the upcoming tournament, "Life can't be worse than this."
