Chapter 155: Towards Change.

Shido prepared breakfast for his family as he took out katsu from the deep fryer with a smile on his face. He could hear the sounds of Eri and Himiko happily talking to each other while Fuyumi was humming a melody as she served Tamago Gohan on the table for the kids. 

It was something that Shido sought from the serene life that he always wished for.

Soon the katsu was ready to be served and Shido placed them on a big plate for everyone. But when he turned towards the dining table, the serene ambiance turned to Shido's horror as the kids lay dead on the floor with their heads turned to their backs and Fuyumi sat on the chair with a big hole in her abdomen as her internals came out of that hole.

"AGH!" Shido jolted up from his bed as he threw the quilt draped over him. His breathing was erratic and a few sweatdrops could be seen on his forehead. He turned his head and saw Fuyumi sleeping beside him peacefully. He then picked up his phone and looked at the time.

[Monday, 4:12 AM]

Putting his phone on the bedstand, Shido laid back on the bed, looking at the ceiling.
~...There's chaos in you...~
~...All of your problems will be gone...~

~...If you just embrace the Chaos...~

The voices of Chaos resounded in his mind but Shido just stayed the same with the same thoughtful expression on his face as he looked at the ceiling, He didn't react to these voices as if they'd become a normal part of his life.

He started hearing these voices, which urged him to succumb to the Chaos, in his head after his battle with Genesis. Shido initially was getting irritated by these voices as they interrupted his daily life, his sleep, etc, but after a week of listening to the same lines, he finally adapted to them.

But today, there was a change, a dream... or a nightmare to be precise, was used to make him accept the Chaos. 

Shido wanted this charade of voices and now nightmares to end, but what solution was there to it? Caos denies any possible remedy for this problem as it is related to the [Laws], the creational forces of the universe.

Shido sighed as the 'List of Problems' he had just got new additions to it.

After killing his alter 'Night Slash,' Shido solved many problems like Endeavor's Chase on Night Raid, Ire of HPSC, and Unnecessary attention from Governments and Agencies from around the globe after Night Slash Vs. Genesis.

But now, new problems were arising. [Law of Chaos]'s tricks to play with Shido's sanity, and after last night's incident at the reunion party, the list just got bigger. 

The blast at the hotel will start an investigation, and the attack on Iwao will lead to Fuyumi being the prime suspect of the incident as the legal document which Iwao showed to Shido stated 'If anything happens to my life, Fuyumi Todoroki is the sole responsible person.' And then there was this video of Shido massacring the four mercenaries in the inventory room of the hotel.

All this shit was created in one night. 'Attending the reunion party was really a mistake,' Shido thought.

Deep in thought, Shido turned to his left and saw Fuyumi looking at him with a smile. Shido squinted his eyes as he was a bit confused by her expression.

"Do you always wake up with a smile like that?" Shido asked.

"Only when I'm waking next to you~," said Fuyumi flirtatiously and she put her hand on Shido.

"Too early for this... It's 4 in the morning, go back to sleep," said Shido and turned to the other side. But he felt a hand snaking around his waist. Soon he felt Fuyumi's chest on his back. He turned his head a bit and saw Fuyumi spooning him. Not minding it, Shido closed his eyes in hopes to fall asleep.

But as soon as he closed his eyes, "What are you worried about?" he heard Fuyumi slowly whispering to his ear. 

"Nothing..." Shido lied but Fuyumi played along with his lie. 

"So... this Nothing. Does this make you worry a lot?"

"Not so much..."

"But you seemed tense when you were thinking about it..."

Fed up with her questions, "What's the point of all these questions?" Shido asked back.

"The point is... you just stop worrying about things"

When Shido heard this, he turned in Fuyumi's embrace and looked directly at her, "What do you mean to stop worrying about things? I killed Isao... I killed your friend. There will be police and heroes involved. An investigation will take place and my identity will be known to everyone. You and the kids will be affected too. Whatever I did after the Los Angeles incident to make things right will all be for naught--"

"Shh-Shh-Shh... Just stop talking," Fuyumi placed her finger on top of Shido's lips to make him stop talking. And when Shido stopped talking, she took back her finger and hugged Shido so that his face was on her neck. Now her body was covering him like a blanket.

"You know before you used to be so optimistic even in peril... Assuring your teammates in dire situations when they were panicking. Doing miracles to end those problems but after LA. But now, after the LA incident, you just look at bad things and assume the worst."

"So you are telling me to pull a miracle out of nowhere and end this problem?"

"No, I am telling you to stop worrying unnecessarily about things that you can't control. The laws, rules, government, heroes... These things are not in our control, so why waste our time worrying about it."

This really put Shido into thinking, but after a few moments of silence, "Yeah, you are right... Maybe I should not think that much about it."

When Fuyumi heard what Shido said, her smile widened, "Good boy," she said as she ruffled his hair and kissed his forehead. She then opened the upper buttons of her nightwear, revealing her deep cleavage to Shido.

Shido smiled back at her, "But you are not a good girl..."

"Want to punish me, daddy?~~" Fuyumi flirtatiously invited Shido for the 'breakfast'.

Fuyumi felt Shido's hands entering her nightwear and grabbing her waist. "Oh~ It's going to be a hard punishment for me, isn't it?"

"Yeah, by the end of it, you would be begging me to stop," said Shido.

"I can't wait~"

Shido just smirked and started tickling her. Getting caught off-guard, Fuyumi burst out laughing. She begged him to stop repeatedly but he just didn't stop and continued. Fuyumi was completely out of control in her laughter and she pushed Shido with her superhuman strength, making him crash into the wall.

Fuyumi rushed to Shido and helped him stand up, "Sorry... I couldn't control it."

"No worries, I asked for it," said Shido as he held his head.

As the two were now fully awake, they decided to start the day early.

Fuyumi stays at the Kanzaki Residence only for the weekends and then returns to Todoroki Abode for the rest of the week. The pattern was a bit wrecked because of Shido's absence during the LA Battle but now since everything was getting back to normal, it was time for Fuyumi to return back to her home.

As she was packing her bag with her stuff, Shido was looking at her while sitting on the bed. He was in some kind of thought as he looked at her packing her bag. After some time, he stood up and walked up to Fuyumi.

"Stay here, Fuyumi..."

"Yeah, I will come back for lunch."

"No  I mean, Stay here... At my house. Move in with me..."

"You have to wake up young man or you will be late for school... but I highly doubt you will be able to even walk," said a short old woman to a boy sleeping on a couch.

"... I just need a bit more rest and- I- will be just fine," said the boy as he struggled to even rise up from the couch.

"Yeah, Yeah... You say the same thing every day and then you come back to me beaten black and blue by night," said the old woman as she poured some warm water for the boy.

The boy who looked like a teenager was a fairly tall young man with messy, indigo-colored hair. His eyes were purple with white pupils. A slim figure, wearing a completely black suit. He picked up the cup of warm water and started taking sips. 

The old woman was a short, elderly woman with gray hair styled into a netted bun. She wore a doctor's lab coat and a dress with a yellow and red vest. Weirdly, she had a cane that looked like a syringe. She sat in front of the young man who had his eyes half-closed, "Tell me, young man, what do you achieve doing all this? School by day... Fighting gangs by night," asked the old lady.

"What I get out of this doesn't matter at all. What this city gets from my actions is what matters," the young man replied calmly.

"So you take up the mantle of vigilantism to enact the justice that you see fit..." the old lady refuted.

"More or less," said the young man. He then placed the cup on the table. After that, he picked up his bag and went inside a room. 

When he came out of the room, the young man was wearing a gray school uniform. He placed the black suit and a pair of batons in a bag and walked up to the main door of the old lady's apartment.

Before opening the door, the young man turned, "Again... Thanks for everything." He then opened the door.

"Whatever young man, but take an advice from me as your elder. Never live two lives, son. You'll only suffer the consequences of both and none of the benefits.

Hitoshi, this fire of vigilantism in you will take away your everything... as it did to Night Slash and his team," said the old lady with a hint of worry and care in her voice.

"Thanks for the advice, Recovery Girl... See you at school," said Hitoshi as he completely disregarded her advice and left her apartment.
