Chapter 3: 3 Results and first day part 1

Benji was sitting on the floor of the living room with his shirt off while his mom sat in a chair picking at his scales on his back.

The impact from the rubble during the entrance exam cracked quite a few. A few of his scales had broken completely and needed to be pulled. It was irritating process as new scales were already growing behind the broken scales.

Benji was currently recounting the events of entrance exam most notably the giant robot and the girl he saved from the falling rubble. He had forgotten about counting the points while he was excited fighting the robots. 

"There done your personal maid has finished her job." Martha said sarcastically.

"Why thank you maid it was an excellent job." Benji replied.

"Stupid! You think you can get away with calling me a maid." Benji's mother shouted sending him scuttling around the apartment with her is tow.

This lasted until they had to get ready to go to a restaurant his mother picked out. Well it wasn't a picked out restaurant it was where his mother worked at. His mothers employee's discount meant they could eat good food at a discount. 

"Irasshaimase!" Greeted a waiter at the front door. Guided by one of the waiters to a table he sat down and started looking over the menu. The restaurant his mom worked at specialized in seafood one of the foods he slightly preferred under katsu curry.

After thoroughly looking over the menu he decided on a bowl of seafood champon which was filled with shrimp, clam, and fish. The champon they made here was one he preferred over others.

Martha decided to order Ika sōmen, a traditional Japanese dish originating from Hakodate, a personal favorite of hers.

Their evening was spent casually bickering and enjoying the food they got.

(One week later)

 

It was evening time as Benji and is mom ate dinner. Benji was watching television, catching up on the newest season of Sherlock Holmes.

"Your exam results should be here soon now." Martha said as she shoved a spoonful of food in her mouth.

"Uh huh." Benji said clearly not listening. "AACk!"

"Next time I will throw all the food I have at you if you aren't listening." Said a smirking Martha looking at a humiliated Benji with a spoonful of food on his head.

Benji's mother clearly cared about him and his wellbeing. She was always like this tough mother but sometimes she hoped Benji would never see her weak. It was something she always feared because if his mother couldn't be strong than what would happen to him.

"I'll be right back." Benji's mother said as she closed the front door of the apartment.

Benji was still watching the television wondering about how Sherlock was gong to solve the murder on the flagpole. Martha came running through the door then turning off the television startling Benji who was immersed in his show. She then threw a envelope on the table. The envelope had the wax seal of UA, Benji supposed it was his entrance exam results.

'Its finally here.'

"Okay," Benji took a deep breath. "Here we go."

Opening the fancy envelope, ripping apart the wax seal, discovering a letter and a metal disk inside with a small cavity in it. "What's this?"

Placing the disk on the table, going for the envelope. The metal disk suddenly came to life and created a holographic screen startling both Benji and his mom.

"Oh! gee-"

"I am here as a projection!" Appeared the most popular hero, dressed in a memorable yellow suit with a blue tie. "Greetings, young Gillow!"

"Is he a teacher at UA!?"

"Young Gillow you were able to pass the written exam" He said with his bright smile. "You were admirable, young Gillow. You achieved a full total of thirty four points from defeating villains. An incredible score, young one! But if that was all there to it." He then pointed to the screen. "The entrance exam the other day was not graded only on villain points!"

Footage began to play of Benji destroying robots, a look of excitement and determination on his face as he smashed a three point robot.  Behind him you could see a kid on the floor. He was defending them.

The screen changed again. Falling debris from the zero pointer was about to fall on a girl on the floor. Then Benji came out of nowhere and jumped in front of the debris. After saving the girl he made sure she was okay then ran off.

"Rescue points!" The screen changed back to All Might. "And their given by a panel of judges!" 

A screen appeared showcasing the top ten students. Shining at number ten was Benji with thirty four villain points and twenty three hero points.

"I did it!"

"Stupid of course you did your my son!" Benji's mom yelled.

All might then held out his hand.

"Come, young Gillow. This is your hero academia!" All Might said dramatically.

The hologram emitter promptly shut off. Benji got up and hugged his mother. They later discussed about his hero costume design that they would send to the school. Martha had to talk some sense into his head full wild ideas of a hero costume some being in a yellow spandex bodysuit.

(First day of school)

 

Benji got up early because he couldn't hide his excitement to be able to attend UA. The prospect of learning what the best of the best could give won over his sleepiness. He quickly put on his UA uniform he received from the school a day ago.

"I'm still not used to seeing you wake up by yourself." Benji's mom sighed. "But it is good for you that your able to on your own."

"You better not be getting chummy with their food. I still expect you to enjoy my food!"

"But I thought you wanted me to find someone to make food for me instead of you?" Benji replied.

"Muscle head you better head off or I'm going to throw a pillow at you!"

"I'm off!" Benji said as hurrying through the door.

Arriving at the gate of the official UA high school building Benji felt a sense of pride. He entered the door numbered one and looked for his classroom 1-A. It had to be noted that UA was massive, UA was made of four skyscrapers that connected together that looked like the letter "H" for hero at most angles.

Benji eventually got lost but was saved when he asked a yellow haired guy with a bright smile he gladly pointed the way.

Finding the large door labeled 1-A Benji was surprised that the door was as tall as it was. But he supposed that was for people whose quirks affected their height considerably. In the front of the room was a podium and a blackboard.

Walking in the classroom he saw that most of the students had arrived before him. The class desks was situated in rows of five with four desks each. One of the people he recognized was the tall blue haired guy from the entrance exam.

Benji sat in a desk right next to a peach colored guy with a pointed shape on his head. He thought he must've been a mutant quirk but some emitter quirks changed the physiology of their users too bordering the line of mutant and emitter. Another person he thought had a mutant quirk sat next to him with a crow head.

For some strange reason Benji started feeling reassured but he quickly shook of that feeling.

"Hey my name is Benji Gillow, nice to meet you-" Benji started talking to the pointy headed guy but was interrupted by a load sound.

"Don't put your feet on the desk! The blue haired guy shouted at a blond person. "Don't you think its rude to the UA upperclassmen and the people who made the desk?"

At that point Benji just tuned out of their conversation to continue his with the peach skin guy. But when he looked at him again the guy started using sign language. Benji supposed he was mute but that didn't stop him from talking to him. Eventually he found out his name was, koji Koda.

The door opened again revealing a the recognizable broccoli hair of Midoriya. Benji got up and made way to him with the blue haired person already talking to him. Benji heard enough to hear the guys name, Tenya Lida.

"Good morning Midoriya-kun." Benji greeted him as Midoriya quickly recognized him.

"Good morning Gillow-kun." Midoriya grinned.

"Oh, that curly hair! You're the plain-looking one!" A short brown aired girl smiled enthusiastically.

She started off saying how cool he was and something about him destroying a giant robot and that he passed. Midoriya blushed deeply as he smiled at her and saying it was all thanks to her.

'Did he really destroy that robot with one punch?!'

"Did you really do that with just one punch!" Benji exclaimed.

"Yeah he did it was so cool!" The girl wore a smile like it was her birthday party. "I wonder what our teacher's like?" She started a bunch of questions as Midoriya blushed at her while enthusiastically gesturing with her hands.

Benji felt a sting on his scales as he noticed the blonde hair kid was glaring in their direction. Benji just smiled as he thought the guy didn't want to be left out. The guy just returned his smile with a look that stabbed eyes. Benji turned back and he saw a caterpillar with a face on the floor behind the girl.

"Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends." Everyone stiffened and the girl turned slowly to face it, while Benji was looking on with curiosity. "This is the hero course."

It rose up, slowly unzipping the sleeping bag revealing a man, not a caterpillar, wearing a black outfit with black bandages on his neck and long wavy hairy. "Okay, it took you eight seconds before you were quiet. Time is limited. You kids are not rational enough."

'Our teacher, he is a pro hero too? But he looks so worn out.'

"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Nice to meet you." he said in a monotone voice. "It's kind of sudden, but," He reached into his bag and pulled out the UA gym uniform. "Put this on and go out onto the field."

This confused everyone and Benji greatly.
