Akira got up off his bed as he finished the latest chapter of My Hero Academia. With a groan he stretched his muscles that had grown tense from his long reading session. He was positive he reached a new record in the amount of time he had spent sitting in his chair, though it was nothing to celebrate about.

"The chapter was cool, it's a shame Stars and Stripes was only introduced to nerf Shigaraki, she had a really cool quirk." He paused for a moment, "It really is an overpowered quirk, I can only imagine the amount of ways to use that power. If I was in that world, I would easily choose that quirk over the rest."

He walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge, sighing tiredly when he saw the near empty milk cartoon sitting there. Grabbing the milk and inspecting it, he shook his head.

"Looks like I'll have to get more." Akira said with a tut of his teeth, checking the time, "11pm…stores are still open."

After cleaning himself up slightly he put on a proper pair of clothes and shoes and left his apartment, making sure to lock the door behind him.

As he walked through the streets of the city, he couldn't help but feel a little guilty for spending his entire day reading manga and doing nothing else. Akira was usually a productive person, making sure to get enough sunlight, exercise and study everyday.

He was feeling a little burnout lately, being so close to exam season he had been studying all the time, and his days were always the same repetitive garbage he hated with a passion. He deemed it necessary to have a day to relax, and the next day he would be back to tip top shape. The thing was, he usually felt guilty about not doing any work, and it only caused him more stress on a day meant to relax. It was a very unforgiving cycle his own brain put him through.

Still, he was glad to have finally caught up with some of his favourite manga, so that was a plus. He walked through the empty city, rubbing his stinging eyes, trying to force the pain away.

'Staring at a screen all day isn't good for your eyes.'

As he walked across the street, an echo of cries and screams filled his ears. His body momentarily flinched up at the horrifying noise, but a second later his body moved, turning in the direction the noise came from.

All he saw was a bright flash of yellow before his world went black.

Akira Endo was a child of Japanese descent who had grown up in an orphanage in the outer banks of Mustafu. He was a quiet kid for his age, and often preferred things like reading books compared to sports like many of the other kids his age.

It was because of this Akira had no friends, but he wasn't treated badly or with disdain, so Akira didn't mind all too much. This suddenly changed when Akira turned 4 years old. While the other kids were getting their quirks and showing them off to other people, Akira remained one of the few to have yet to get a quirk. It had eventually reached the point where he was the only one in the orphanage who didn't have a quirk, so he was taken to a doctor.

Quirkless…That was his diagnosis. It was a word that stuck and clung to him like a parasite, and a word that haunted him the rest of his life.

For a child, Akira was exceedingly well observant, so he was quick to notice the small changes in behaviour around him. The bullying from the kids was instant, but that much was to be expected, they were kids, and kids were stupid. However, what he noticed was that even the adults, the caretakers and the teachers looked and treated him with disdain.

His grades were tampered with, he got smaller portions at lunch, and he always had more chores than the rest of the kids at the orphanage.

Worst of all…no one stopped the harsh treatment he received, so it festered. No matter where he went to hide during breaks he was always found. He came home beaten and covered in bruises, and when he tried to retreat to the safety of his books, he found them destroyed by the orphanage kids as well.

This harsh, but very legal and accepted treatment carried on for 4 years until he finally snapped. All the pent up rage, frustration and anger was released in a beating of screams and violence as Akira finally decided to fight back against one of his primary tormentors.

A broken nose, two black eyes, a bloody lip, and shattered teeth. That seemed to be all the words he focused on from the principal before he was expelled. He was kicked out of the orphanage the same night, entering the streets of Mustafu at the age of 8, quirkless, but with one proud achievement nonetheless.

Tonight was his first night on the streets. Despite the sympathetic looks he got, no one helped him, not even a hero. He struggled to find money and a shelter to stay the night, so he was forced to sleep in the back of an alley with an empty stomach.

When he awoke, his body was still very much the same. Dull aches flared across his body from some recent beatings he received, while his knuckles were in bad condition from his bout of fury before.

His mind though…that was a different story entirely. Instead of waking up as Akira Endo, he woke up as another Akira with the memories of Akira Endo. Most surprising, the world Akira came from gave him the necessary knowledge to understand he was in the world of My Hero Academia, a manga from his previous world, and the current world he was in.

He quickly calmed down from his shock, managing to understand the situation from the memories he had been given. He had died, then he had been transported into the world of My Hero Academia in the body of another kid named Akira.

"Arghhh…" With a groan of pain he got up from the bag of trash he had been sitting on for the night and started stretching. He picked up a stench around his body, and he mentally noted that he should try and find a shower somehow.

After getting over the initial shock of being in another world, he found himself quite excited to be in a world full of superpowers, but not as excited as he was expecting. From the memories he had gained, he was reminded of the harsh treatment of the quirkless, forcing an 8 year old kid to become homeless. He had no idea how Izuku survived this treatment.

No matter the world, human nature never changed. Humans were capable of monstrous things, and just because this world was portrayed opposite of that, doesn't mean it didn't exist. Overhaul was just a taste of what was on the surface, and the further you went down the rabbit hole the worse it most likely got.

He shivered. It got even worse when you brought quirks into the mix. He could only imagine the amount of evil that could be done by a single person.

While he was in his internal dilemma, he failed to notice a figure standing outside of the alley, smiling sadistically.

'Ok, first I need to decide what to do.'  Considering he was quirkless, homeless, and broke, many of his ideas were swiftly denied. Maybe he could fake having a future sight quirk? Maybe he could get One for All? What abou–

"Hey kid, you look lost, you need some help?"

Akira froze. He remained still for a moment, trying to put on the most genuine smile he could muster and turned to the man, trying not to convey his nervousness, "No thank you mister, I'm fine."

As Akira looked at the man, his racing heartbeat quickened, sending powerful thumps throughout his body. At first glance the man looked normal, with a stoic normal face and brown hair, dressed in a nice business suit and tie. He looked like any normal man you would find on the streets of Japan, but when Akira saw his eyes, he knew everything he conveyed was a lie, a mere illusion.

His eyes were like a snakes, with small, narrow slits holding the cold and piercing stare that shook Akira to the core. Those were the eyes of no normal man, Akira knew he was in trouble.

The intensity of the glare sent by the man caused a shiver to go down Akira's spine, freezing him in position. Akira tried his best to move, to escape, to do anything, but he was locked in place.

'Shit! It's his quirk!' Akira realised. He pushed with all the strength his weak body could muster, but it refused to budge. He was at the man's mercy, and he seemed to realise this as well as he let out a haunting laugh.

"Hehe, I'll be rewarded handsomely for this…the doctor likes the feisty ones," He leaned closer, his voice almost a whisper, "He loves to break kids like you."

Akira struggled even more, much to the man's amusement. He let out another quiet laugh, dragging Akira across the floor. Akira tried everything he could, but the man's quirk shrivelled up all his chances of escape. All he could do was breathe and watch as helplessly as the man dragged him to his demise.

As his body scraped across the concrete, he calmed his mind down to think of a solution to get out of this. If he couldn't then he would end up turning into a Nomu by that doctor he was most likely going to.

'Think, Think!' As Akira desperately tried to come up with a solution, he found his mind going back to his final day on his original earth. He recalled back to when he had finished reading My Hero Academia, and talked about Stars and Stripes quirk.

"If I was in that world, I would easily choose that quirk over the rest." Were the words he had said. It was a stretch, but all Akira could do was grasp at straws at this point, so he could only try…it was the only thing he could think of.

He opened his mouth and tried to speak, but the quirk's effect on him rendered him mute. He shouted and screamed until his throat burned bloody and raw, but only the sounds that echoed in the dark alley were flesh scraping concrete.

His eyes remained forced open because of the quirks effect, locked in place, so he could see they were close to the end of the alleyway. He recognised a black car, an SUV parked outside of the alleyway. His breath quickened, and despite the rough pain in his throat, he gave one last desperate try.

"I…will…be…able…to…move" The words came out as quiet as they were rough, but they had the intended effect. He felt an energy in his stomach come to life and bloom, bubbling and heating up as it spread throughout his body with an intense feeling. A second later, his hand twitched. The man didn't seem to notice.

He was free, but his mind continued to race. From what he recalled, the basic description of New Order was that it allowed the user to set a rule or order on something, be it the user, another person, or the surroundings.

He didn't fully understand the complexity of the quirk, but he at least knew he couldn't use his quirk directly on his captor, as he didn't know his name. He also couldn't use it for any enhancements as his body was weak and injured. That left one option…

"⭐I can control the earth!⭐"

Again, he felt that same feeling within his stomach, bursting to life as it spread across his body. With an angry snarl, he forced his palm onto the floor. When he touched the concrete, it felt like Akira connected with it, and he could control it however he wished, so that was exactly what he did.

"Wha–" The man had turned around and tried to react, but a section of concrete slammed into his chin, jolting his head back.

The man slumped to the floor, unconscious. It seems he was a normal business man in some aspects. He took a quiet and shaky breath, knowing how close he had been to death. He wanted nothing more than to scream to the heavens or sob in his own tears, but he needed to take care of something.

He got up off the floor, patting his clothes down. He took a look at the unmoving man, and gave him a swift kick to the stomach.

"Stupid Bastard!" He gave another one for good measure.

He was about to walk off, but stopped in his tracks as he realised something. If he walked away now, he would wake up in a couple of hours and continue to do his job as if nothing happened. How many kids had he done this to before, and how many more could he do it too in the future?

It's not like if he turned him into the police they would believe him. The man looked as normal as can be, and more than likely had a clean criminal record. Who would they believe, a hard working member of society, or a homeless, quirkless, 8 year old child? Even with memory quirks, he would risk having his secret exposed. The answer as to what to do was obvious, if he wanted to stop this man, then he would have to kill him.

'The hardest choice requires the strongest wills.' Akira thought.

He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself with deep breaths, but the anxiety that creeped in his stomach tied up like a knot, remaining ever so persistent. He struggled to stay upright, his knees buckling under the pressure. He wanted nothing more than to run away from his problems, to escape. But this man was evil, and the only way to stop this evil was to kill him. He could never be a hero if he let this monster roam free.

He closed his eyes, turning them away from the sight. He manipulated the earth below the man's head, shaping it into a spike as he thrusted it through his head. Despite his eyes clenched shut, he still flinched as he heard the noise of concrete pierce flesh.

He kept his eyes closed, running past the deceased man's body and out into the open streets. He ran faster and faster, feeling his lungs sting and legs ache, but despite this, Akira was ecstatic. He had killed someone, but he had done the right thing. Although it was the harder choice, he took it, and he couldn't be prouder with himself.
