'Describe the Nebraska Incident and explain in your own words the effect it had on views towards the quirked people and quirk laws.'
'Discuss the quirk singularity theory.'
'If a mother has a quirk named telekinesis and the father has a quirk called fire creation, name and list the possible quirks a child of these parents may have. Explain your reasoning.'
Akira managed to make his way through the exam sheet with only some slight difficulty. He flicked the pages on his exam paper, checking that every question was answered properly before president mic stopped the exam.
"AAAAAAND TIME!!!" President Mic shouted, "Put your pens down and leave your papers at the desk, and make your way to the main hall, it's time for the practical!"
The hot and tense mood seemed to diffuse at the mention of a practical, and everyone put the previous test behind them and prepared for the next one.
Once everyone had arrived in the massive hall, President Mic took the stage and began to explain the contents of the exam, "Welcome listeners! This is the moment you have all been waiting for…the practical exam! In UA we have these exams to thin the herd so to speak, separating the best of the best from just the slightly above average participants. Now, I'm sure for those of you who did your research, there have been rumours on the internet that the practical exam will have you fighting robots, is that correct?"
Lots of the crowd found themselves nodding, some visibly grinning in victory as they believed they would pass the exam with ease. One of the most confident examinees even decided to speak his mind.
"Just tell me where, and I'll smash the robots to pieces and get first place!"
"Well little listener, as I'm sure you will be sad to hear, that little leak was made up by us!"
The crowd erupted.
"What!?"
"Nani!?"
"What the fuck!"
President Mic chuckled, "It was merely a ruse put forth by our principal! As a hero it is your job to be able to gather information, but it's also your job to be able to correctly identify misinformation! As a hero you influence lots of people, so you really need to be careful with what you say. If you look at the pattern for the last 50 years of UA entrance exams, you should know that it's simply impossible for this exam to be robots. What we will instead be doing…is a tournament. "
Akira grinned.
"Tournament?" The crowd asked in unison.
"Correct young listeners! You will be placed into groups with 15 other people, in which you will fight them in a carefully examined series of battles. The winner will automatically have a spot in UA, meaning there's 20 spots filled. The rest of the spots will also be filled through a strict criteria of observation made by the judges, so if promising prospects get knocked out early because of a bad matchup or nerves, don't worry!"
"Look at your card! You will find a letter assigned to the back of it, that's your assigned group! Those from the same or nearby schools have been placed away from each other, so don't worry about your potential opponents already knowing your quirks. The full rules of the tournament will be expanded upon by your group examiner, so that's it from me! Make your way outside and onto the bus with your assigned group number…and always remember…"
""PLUS ULTRA!!!""
Akira made sure to cover his ears as the crowd screamed the catchphrase. Seriously, what was with that catchphrase?
The examinees, including himself, soon left the exam hall in a rush, being guided towards the outside where all the buses were parked. He spared a glance at his card, noting his letter and made his way towards the bus labelled "G".
Once he and 17 people, including the examiner and bus driver arrived on the bus, Akira believed his suspicions were confirmed with his.
'I'm in the wrong year.' When Akira first met Izuku and Bakugou, they looked relatively the same age as him, slightly younger, but not enough to where Akira thought they were a year younger than him. However, when he noticed that the infamous sludge villain incident had yet to happen, he had begun to think that maybe his presence had caused a butterfly effect.
That didn't seem to be the case. During his current short stay at UA, he had recognised no one from the main series. Not even in the massive exam hall where Akira took the test did he see any of the 40 people that were supposed to be in his year.
As he sat here, looking at each of his opponents on the bus and failing to recognise any of them, Akira was 99% sure he was in the year above the main cast. All he remembered about this year was that Aizawa had expelled the entire class, other than that he was in the dark.

He sighed, 'No use getting worked up about it now. Being in this year just gives me more time to prepare against the future conflicts that will arise. Maybe I could even bring the fight to them.'
The bus ride was quiet, or at least he hoped it was. With the energetic President Mic as their examiner, the bus ride was the opposite from quiet, with his loud voice irritating him greatly. He plugged in his earphones, preferring to listen to some rock music compared to President Mic explaining his morning routine. Soon the bus stopped, and they arrived at their location.
Contrary to what Akira expected, the tournament field was a large pasture of grass, around the size of ¾ of a football field if he had to guess. It was extremely underwhelming, but at least he would have some experience if he ever had a fight on a farm.
The 16 participants shuffled around, some in excitement while others in uncertainty and anxiety while Mic tapped away on his tablet, loudly mumbling to himself. He pressed the tablet one last time, and a second later his face lit up, "I've got the brackets here, are you guys ready!?"
"..."
"Ok! But before we get on with the fights, I need to explain a few rules! Firstly, be respectful to your opponent at all times. Secondly, not trying to cause permanent harm or injury to your opponent, if you do you will be disqualified immediately. Thirdly, when I say stop, you stop, got it!? And Finally, have fun!"
"Now let's see…first up, Nakamura vs Takamura!"
In Akira's opinion, the following fight was pretty boring. Both of them had good quirks, but poor levels of mastery using them and awful ways of using it, and it just wasn't up to UA standards. Nakamura looked to have a slightly above average fire quirk, but the fact he used it in very predictable and limited ways held him back so much. His opponent wasn't that much better, from the looks of it he had a mutation quirk of a sort, looked to be a bull. This gave him a very beefy build, making him very slow in exchange for power and durability. Despite having a large and powerful body, it was clear that he had done no stamina training whatsoever, and also not once had he done anything other than charge straight in.
Eventually, the low energy stores and heat of the surroundings caught up on the bull, causing him to drop to exhaustion, and the battle was over.
"Winner, Nakamura!"
President Mic continued going through the bracket, announcing fight after fight. During these fights, Akira noted a few promising people and took a mental note of them in case he fought them. After 6 more fights, it was finally Akira's turn.
"And for the final match of the first round, Akira vs Miashi!"
They both made their way to the arena in different ways, while Akira shuffled to the arena with an almost bored look, Miashi oozed confidence and had a sly grin on his face.
"Start!"
Miashi burst forward with an unexpected vigour, rushing towards Akira with the same grin on his face.
"⭐I have super strength⭐"
"⭐I have super speed⭐"
Akira cancelled his current <Orders>, putting on two very basic but powerful <Orders>. Right now, he didn't want to expose the full repertoire of his powers, so he went with a basic combination of super strength and speed. Adding this onto his trained body, Akira was sure he was the strongest person here.
"Whispering to yourself, are you scared? Don't chicken out on me now!"
Miashi got into a textbox boxing stance. He held out his right hand, lightly throwing it in a jab like motion despite being over 4 metres apart. Akira thought the attack would miss, but to his surprise the arm stretched, flicking like a whip.
Akira managed to block the attack with a tight guard, grimacing slightly as he felt his arm sting in pain.
'So it's essentially like an extendable whip. When his arm extends, the speed increases exponentially, giving it lots of power. It's a good quirk, shame it's wasted on such an arrogant person.' Akira already had the quirk figured out.
Miashi adopted a surprised and shocked expression when Akira avoided his second punch. All Akira had done was duck down low, moving out of the way of the attack. Still in his stupor, Akira closed the distance in a split second, slamming into Miashi's body.
He sent a powerful blow to his sternum, causing a mouthful of spit to leave Miashi's mouth and his head to buckle down, unguarded. Miashi fell unconscious the moment the uppercut made contact. His body was sent in the air from the force of the punch, and Akira was sure he felt a few bones crack.
President Mic ran over to Miashi, and upon checking to see that he was ok, nodded. He gestured for the medical robots to come over, and he put Miashi on a stretcher so he could be delivered to recovery girl.
"Winner, Akira!"
